Ok, so actually eating without fully hydrating is a kinda bad idea. And puree and soft foods do not offer the satiety that you will feel once you're eating solid dense Protein.< /span>
And you have to keep in mind, you are probably still a carb burner and you are having 2oz of food. It probably won't last you longer than 2 hours--3 at the most...
But bottom line is, you SHOULD be addressing the hydration issue by finding ways to cope with getting fluids down your piehole. Once you fully hydrate, it WILL help suppress your appetite. And lessen your stress too. Right now cortisol is fueling you. You are in panic fight/flight mode. Deep breath. Drink. Drink warm fluids! Drink some more.
Here's how my first week went. Swear to God. I woke at 4am to take my thyroid pill and I began drinking for the day...I would doze off about another hour and would wake to take my other meds. And I would continue drinking. I would drink all the live long day, every 15 minutes (by timer and with the 4oz shot glass), until 11pm. I was getting 64+ oz in of liquids including Protein Drinks. I WAS still on liquids at 1 week.
And I did that every day. But I had to FIND and compromise on ways to make the liquids easiest for me to handle. Turns out warm or room temp were my friends.

Almost three months out and I swear after working out I can eat a cow. Well, you know...like a miniature cow. It’s weird how I think I’m eating so much and then I look back at my plate and I’ve only eaten half a piece a chicken. You would have thought I was recovering from a buffet dinner. Anywho, I had chipotle salad with no rice and subway wrap this week. Took me forever to finish both meals. Like a four day event. However, it broke my stall and I’m down 7 pounds in a week!!
Meal prepping is becoming frustrating to me because I waste a lot of the food I make. I literally forget to eat some days or just don’t feel like it...the struggle.

@Hungryman I know it can be frustrating but you are really doing good so congratulations...one of the posters posted his weight loss journey for 10-12 months and he lost slow but the big picture was he lost about 90 or so lbs in that time frame...his point was “Look at the big picture” when I think about it, really makes a lot of sense...I try and keep that thought in the back of my mind.

You’re doing awesome. Keep up the good work.

Just for perspective, you're frustrated at ONLY losing 58lbs in two months? Perhaps setting realistic expectations is in order?

I'm almost 3 months post op. I only do 60-80 gr Protein. I average 500-700 calories. Couple days I've gone as high as 900 but typically that's my range. I have 3 meals during day 1 sometimes 2 Snacks. All I can do to get that in at times. If you are losing inches you're good. I've had weeks where I don't lose anything, some might be 2 lbs, then odd week might be 6lbs

Just curious for those post RNY surgery, how long did it take you to really feel glad of the decision to have surgery? It seems some regret it and some it’s just the pain, but a lot of posts seem to go really happy about six months out. I’m sure it takes awhile to adjust to the new lifestyle - how long did that take you?

    Ten days till surgery!

Im a teacher that takes 10k steps just during the day and rarely sit down. I also play instruments for my job and teahc middle school. I planned around the school calendar, but I really needed a full 2 weeks to be ready fir work. After 1 week I was still bloated, gingerly moving, and exhausted.

MusicalKate13 reacted to Creekimp13 in Why I eat baked potatoes, brown rice and whole grain bread
Yep, I eat them all. Love them. They're a daily part of my diet. Sometimes multiple times a day.
    OMG, they're carbs!
Yep, they are. But they're not refined, over-processed, or bad.
And you know what else they are?
Excellent sources of plant based Protein and Fiber.
A baked potato has 160 calories. By itself, it has 4g of protein. Throw some vegetarian chili on there and you're in the high teens. Awesome lunch!
Brown rice...half a cup has around 100 calories and 3g of protein. Add some bean or peas and you've got complete amino acids...tons of protein... and a crazy awesome amount of fiber.
Why is dietary fiber important? To grow good gut bugs. Your microbiota and the health of your gut (and metabolism) depend on happy little bacteria. The strains of gut bugs that live in the guts of skinny people....have a favorite food: dietary fiber. Feed your good bugs good things and they'll be good to you.
They like to eat fruit, veggies, Beans, whole wheat bread...
Whole wheat bread? I eat this A LOT:)
For instance.....A lite Thomas English wheat muffin has 5g of protein for 100 calories. This dietary powerhouse has 8g of dietary fiber! Smear that sucker with your favorite nut butter or fruit preserves, and you're in business.
One of my favorite go-to dinners these days...... is fresh homemade wheat bread with 16 veggie soup...and fruit for dessert.
I eat about four servings of fruit a day...and that's not even counting the watermelon I huddle over in the car while hissing "My Precious...." LOL:)
A banana is not "a candy bar" A banana is a wonderful healthy food. I eat lots of them. Hell, I have a Yonanas that makes them into ice cream. They're terrific.

Normal weight does not HAVE to mean giving up carbs. It means being carb smart, balancing, and making mindful choices.
More than one way to do this whole thing.
Weight loss success does not mean ONLY eating meat for the rest of your life with broccoli on the side. That's great once in a while, though!
Not trying to tell anyone they're doing it wrong.....just sayin'....there's more than one way to do it right:)

Extreme thinking, extreme dieting, extreme self denial....is not sustainable.
Work on a forever diet you can live with.
Be mindful, be accountable....but be kind to yourself.

Just curious, you listed all your exclusions, what is it you are exactly looking for?
I know for me personally, I have set expectations or lists of what I want / don't want and rarely do we find that person. I think you have to look outside the box. Stating that you just can't date overweight people because of their possible eating habits is probably the wrong way to look at it. As a person who has always been heavy, I've ALWAYS watched what I eat and have always been active from kickboxing, gym, sports leagues and weekend hiking trips and unfortunately for me the weight just never came off. The best I ever got to was 169 and hovered in the 170's. I was a big girl but at the same time very active person who was health conscious.

Fitbit most certainly has nutrition entry, you just need to do so from the site or the app, I don't know of any smartwatch or fitness tracker that lets you enter nutrition directly from the wearable.

Just watch the fat and sugar content and you should be fine if you are ok with the spices that might be in that brat. It's meat, not the best meat, but as long as it's low on the fillers and added sugars and fats, you should be ok. Just be sure to chew chew chew!

Confessions! They make my catholic schoolgirl heart flutter. Anyway, ten days into the two week liquid diet I screech into the Burger King parking lot like the getaway driver in a bank robbery. Order a small onion ring (sans sauce-I'm health conscience like that) and woof them down. As I'm licking my fingers I think how guilty I should feel and I should probably cry or something but I couldn't squeeze out a single tear. Funny thing is, I don't even like Burger King and there were way better options across the street but I couldn't be bothered to do a U turn.
