Pretty much all surgeries have a chance of going wrong. This one is no different. The risks are minimal and the chances of serious complications are relatively low. In the statistics I run the current average for erosion is about 8 out of every 100. 2% have encountered slips. The fact is that my statistics don't paint a fair picture. If everyone on LBT had logged their stats, chances are the number would have dwindled to a very very small level. Take heart, this isn't a risky surgery. Follow the rules, and you should do just fine.

Tommy actually did read the post, and expressed a most severe opinion of the action that should be taken. I think that the moderators followed their guidelines and acted in accordance with their policies. Dody, I think the best thing you can do now, is forward all your recommendations for modification of the moderators policy directly to Alex, the owner. Nothing more can be achieved by continuing this here.

On the subject of "TROLLS". I personally see no use of applying any kind of derogatory label to a behavioral pattern. Do we need a label to be able to identify who we believe (individually) to be problems? None of us come from the standpoint of perfection. We all have our own agenda and opinions and have a right to express them, and anyone of us could be seen as a Troll. Unless you can look in the mirror, and know in your heart of hearts that you stand at the point of perfection, you aren't qualified to place the label. If we take the most literal definition, labeling someone a troll is a hateful thing to do, which makes the person applying the label, a troll. Does this achieve anything?

I totally agree with that An ideal moderator would be / should be unbiased in every way. But as she already stated, she was never interested in being a moderator here.

[Rant & Rave!] I have found a situation that I want to rant about, and while I could have done so before, seeing the new forum triggered the rant Clothing manufacturers. They are a bunch of lying bastards. Yes. I said it. Why is it, I can buy 2 pairs of pants. Pair 1: 44 inch waist. The second, 46 inch waist. I can wear the 44.... but not the 46??? My attitude is - people walk on my carpet in their crap covered shoes, they can go ahead and run the vacuum on the way out. I tend to always take my shoes off, unless I know the carpet inside is dirtier than the dirt outside I find though that attitudes change with the reason for the visit. I find business individuals wouldn't take their shoes off at gunpoint, but people who visit socially usually do. It's also not unusual to ask the host if footwear should be removed

Some doctors put you on a pre-op just to see if you are serious in your intentions to change your life after banding. Frequently if you haven't lost weight, or have maintained weight, they'll make a decision that you aren't mentally ready to commit to your new life. Every doctor will set their own plan before you. I'd recommend discussing all dietary changes and modifications with your surgeon in advance.

Grin. I speak American and English fluently (but I speak American with an accent). I've argued that UK English and American are seperate dialects for many a year. After I came to the US my co-woekers actually found an "English to American" dictionary to assist their comprehension at the odd combination of vowels and consonants errupting from my lips. Part of my work is performing localization testing on software and hardware, and frenquently emply a team of 26 languages. Sad to say my big hitter just handed in his notice friday - he speaks Italian, French, Spanish, Greek, Catalan, Portuguese, and Hebrew at native level. He can also get by in Arabic. I have no concept of how that is even possible. I can start fights in a few European languages, in accordance with my scholastic heritage.

I understand Penni. Alex and all moderators. I am formally requesting that the threads containing pure abusive attacks be deleted. There is an implicit threat of violence being made in one thread in particular that needs corrective action. I understand that this corrective action may be done privately and the action may not be publically visible. I formally request that you PM me once the corrective action has been taken to resolve this extemely vile and potentially illegal issue.

Actually, I said that the mildest thing has been publically rebuked, and the most serious items aren't. Example. Some time ago a thread occured where someone said that they weren't happy and were thinking about leaving. When a response was made of "if being here makes you unhappy, then leave" the responder was blasted by moderators. My main question was - when is it time to delete a thread? Surely leaving vicious slurs about someone, for everyone to read, gains nothing? Those were my key points. I'm trying to understand the guidelines. You'll note that I haven't jumped in on any of the threads in question. I'm merely asking to clarify. I also didn't state that the individual hadn't been spoken to. Maybe they have. I can't tell. All I do know is - is that everyone on LBT can see my wife being called a "F**king c**t". I would like this type of thread deleted. I know I'm not alone.
