I suspect it's prohibited in Aus. When it comes to martial arts, specialized self defence teachings draw a lot from various martial arts. A sort of amalgam of techniques. I did Karate for 3 years and I wouldn't recommend it for self defence. Though it certainly teaches methods to disable people in hand to hand combat, it can take many years for you to become skilled enough to safely execute it in the "real" world. I also did Aikido and would definately promote that as a more self defence oriented style that doesn't necessarily harm your opponent. It translates over to the "real" world well, as do most grappling forms like Judo and JuJutsu. I guess I would recommend Aikido for a "pure" martial art, but overall a more specialized "real world" self defence course might be advisable. Of course, you are getting one of the best forms of self defence already. RUN.

You have to remember something though, from what I understand you have spent a lot of time at the gym. If that's accurate don't forget that your muscles are going to demand an increase in calories to support that new structure. Your NSV's should be the focus now that you are so clost to goal. You are doing incredibly well and look like a different person. I'm getting down to the weight level where I can't reasonably expect too much weight loss and will need to do my re-sizing at the gym. One other thing. You MUST have some spare skin (if not I'm going to find you and kick your ass). Skin isn't light and thats going to affect your "projected" goal weight (if you use BMI or anything similar). Just a tummy tuck alone could drop 5 or 10 pounds. I've been giving this some thought myself, and I have to accept that even though my shirt size is now "XL" or even "L" (down from 4XL), my skin size is definately sticking at 2XL (for now). I think it was inevitable that the question "where is she" was a catalyst for explanation of "why she isn't here". I have an answer to both questions: "Where is DeLarla?": Vegas, last I heard. "Why isn't she here?": Because she made a personal decision to not be here. There is room on the board for everyone, IMO. I hope she does come back when she is ready. Speaking as an Englishman, who lived in the height of IRA activity, I've experienced living in a country where terror activities aren't "uncommon". My dear old dad ran coastal defences in WWII (good old home guard!). Is the US too big for it's boots? Possibly. But just remember, it isn't JUST the US that says North Korea, Iran etc need to get their act together. Though the UN security council does have the US as a big player, there are other members. That or he's a lot more stupid than I suspected. Lesson 1: If you want the USA to leave the middle east, don't commit a massive public terrorist attack. Let's face it. I think it was inevitable, but not well timed. I think that we'll be "at war" with the Middle East in some for another for the rest of our lives. I don't like living in a world with terrorists. I've worked in a job where they tell you to inspect the underside of your vehicle before you leave work. It's not fun. The IRA cease fire is in my mind temporary. The situation hasn't changed. The US spends more on just about everything compared to any other country on Earth. It's only logical that military would be comparible. Good thing too, otherwise there would be one hell of a lot of people out of work and living on benefits.

I'm living in Idaho, so that is definately part of the culture here to. I do believe in asking questions mind you, but I'm also a supporter of pro-active action. When sanctions will work, I say use em. If all it's going to do is prolong the inevitable, I say skip to the final chapter. Is war good? No. Is killing good? No. Are they inevitable? In my opinion, sadly Yes. All the time there are extremists (of any religion, creed, ethnicity or political belief) there will be violence. I think people just fundamentally don't want to get along.

I don't personally believe in sitting around and waiting for someone to kill me. Peaceful Foreign Policy works great, if the other side is willing to negotiate or talk. Communism: I think the ideal was Marxism, communism was what it turned into. And as for who Bush surrounded himself with and what they advised him to do, show me a politician that was ever trully "for the people". They are principally "for themselves getting re-elected". And I don't care what color they claim to be. Have democratic politicians demonstrated a "higher standard" of advosors? I suspect not. Judges: the High Court is laughable with any party in charge. Justices shouldn't be politically alligned, but indeed they are. Face it folks. It matters not one damn bit who is presently in the White House, or 10 Downing Street, or any other presidential residence. They aren't out for their constituents. They aren't interested in "the little people" despite what anyone thinks. They are out for re-election. God: I agree this is all part of His plan, and I suspect there is much snickering and laughter at all of our antics. Me: I can't vote because I'm not a citizen. I'm taking an outsider's viewpoint of the system. My opinion is just that, mine.
