  1. Hey I had laparoscopic surgery. I thought I would be cleared for all exercise after 4 weeks. It’s weird.
  2. I’ve heard between 2-4. I opted for 4. Glad I did. Getting my energy level up with the amount of liquid protein we’re supposed to live on is difficult.
  3. If I overdo it. Took the kids to playground and then grocery store then fed them dinner and now I’m pooped.
  4. Perfect. Good to know. I was wondering if 4 pieces was too much.
  5. Thanks for responding. My husband is very supportive and it happened to be a situation that I’m sure I’m going to be in a lot whether it’s home or work. I’m glad I was able to overcome. This was not a negative situation and my family shouldn’t have to suffer because of my personal demons a.k.a food. If they occasionally want to indulge in chic-fil-a, which is the worst we do in fast food, then I have to be okay with that. If I was not okay I would’ve said no when my hubby asked and he would’ve eaten later without me or dropped me off. Either would’ve been inconvenient options so it is what it is. As for packing healthy snacks it wasn’t that kind of party nor was that on my mind when getting 3 and 2 year old girls dressed and hair done to leave the house. My husband is my biggest fan when it comes to weight loss and this journey and I’m sorry if others don’t have a supportive spouse. That is simply not my case.
  6. Woohoo! Great job lady! Any loss counts.
  7. So my husband, who is as slim as they come, asked me nicely if I would mind if he did Chic-Fil-A for lunch while we were running errands. I didn’t want to be a drag so I told him sure. Now that is one of my favs. Their waffle fries and chic-fil-a sauce are AMAZING! So I sat and smiled and fought through all the feels while he and our toddlers ate fries and chicken nuggets and a grilled chicken sandwich while I sipped on my water. It was probably the toughest moment so far Since the surgery. I have to say that I wasn’t that hungry so the hunger pains were minimal but I really wanted to just lick the salt off those fries. When the torture was over I felt like a new woman. I had conquered one of my previously fav fat girl places and I wasn’t angry. I was more like determined that I would never let food define me again. I thought “hey if I eat here in the future the grilled nuggets are an option”. I actually feel pretty darn good. Just thought I share.
  8. Good for you! Glad things went well! Enjoy your protein!
  9. You can do it! I was dreaming about food I was so hungry. Dreaming that I ate when I wasn’t supposed to. It was so real. But I made it through those last hours like a champ and so will you! Wishing you the best!
  10. Thank you! I’m so glad I found the support here I don’t know how I’d be passing the time otherwise. I’m excited to try all the recipes on this website as I continue on my healthy journey. I just need to get pas the first freakin 7 days. LOL I’m sipping my chicken bone broth now trying to get some nutrition. I know I have not been getting enough. Contributing to my low energy.
  11. Thank you! I’ve been struggling 5 days post op with being hungry and watching my family eat stuff that I love (like homemade bread and butter) and I’m sipping a clear protein drink. I’m also used to doing a lot more but my energy level is low and the pain is high. I stopped the Tylenol codeine a few days ago. Didn’t like how it made me feel. I’m just trying to take it one day at a time but I keep asking myself if I made the right decision or if I’m a failure because I wasn’t able to just buckle down like one of those people I see in the news and lose the weight without surgery. I’m hoping it gets better. It’s not all negative. I’ve lost quite a bit just in 5 days but I have a lot more to go.
  12. Okay makes sense. I wouldn’t want to do anything close to a plank right now anyway. LOL
  13. That’s great advice. Thanks so much. I will try that!
  14. Hi. I had my gastric sleeve 4 days ago and have been walking and am anxious to get into the gym. My surgeon told me when I left the hospital no sit ups for 1 year. That blew my mind and I’m working how to get my jiggly belly under control with no sit ups. Any suggestions? Thanks!
  15. I like the Isopure drinks. Easy on my tummy. And sugar free popsicles. I’ve been living on those. Can’t wait to graduate to pureed foods. This is difficult.
  16. Oh I haven’t tried protein shakes yet. I’m doing Isopure protein drink. Doctor said I can only have clear liquids. Will try protein shakes next week. Trying to find high protein shakes. I woke up several times with that weird feeling in my stomach/chest last night and had to take a few sips of the protein drink. Seemed to help. I hope you have a speedy recovery as well.
  17. Hi! I had my surgery on the same day you did at the same time. I arrived home yesterday around 8 PM. Feels great to be home. Experiencing gnawing hunger pains. Trying to sip protein as water seems to make it worse. Are you experiencing the same?
  18. So glad I came across this post. I'm having sleeve surgery tomorrow and I just ordered a bunch of stuff and added waist trainer to the list. Thank you! Thank you!
  19. I read in another forum that someone started taking Biotin pre-surgery to prevent hair loss after. I just ordered some and plan to start taking now. I really don’t want to lose my hair. Especially because I have long pretty dreadlocks that it took me years to grow. I’m going to research other supplements too post-surgery. Want to be prepared. I’m trying out shakes now to see which ones I can tolerate with my lactose issues. So far I can tolerate the high protein low sugar Boost shake.
  20. Yes. I’m already obsessed with this website. Great information and true stories. It looks like a lot of people have had success. I’m ready for this to happen and get on the right track. I’ve procrastinated for a while. I should’ve done this last year but I was too scared. Now I’m ready! Thanks for the encouraging worlds!
  21. Hi All, I'm new to this support site and wanted to start a new thread for those of us still a few weeks out from surgery. What's everyone doing to prepare mentally, physically, emotionally? My tentative date for surgery, assuming Cigna approves, is Oct. 2. It feels like it's so far away but I'm still trying to prepare now. How long does everyone plan to take off work? Have you told anyone besides spouse/significant other? Only my husband knows because the rest of my family is too judgmental and I'm doing it for me not them. I would love to hear your thoughts!
