Has surgery 10 days ago, I was so excited Now Iam so depressed
Totally normal and it gets better. You're in pain, you can't eat, and it sucks, but I think the depression is usually from rapid hormonal changes.

Smooth Sailing for Anyone?
I was taking a high quality multivitamin and biotin long before surgery. Biotin doesn't help hair loss but it helps your hair grow faster, so I am hoping as new hair grows it will be a bit quicker and healthier. I was already using Nioxin shampoo (I have PCOS). The hair loss is generally from the anesthesia and shock of surgery, not malnutrition, so it's inevitable for most people.

Smooth Sailing for Anyone?
It isn't easy, and I did have pain, but it was very well managed with medication. I have had terrible constipation, but as much as that sucks, it is a small price to lose as well as I have. Overall it has been easier than I anticipated, I was afraid of unbearable pain, starvation level hunger and vomiting, and I didn't have any of that. I am starting to lose my hair, and this has by far been the worst of it, and I'm extremely upset by it, but I have yet to see an after picture of anyone that has gone bald, so I am hoping it resolves soon. It's not easy but it's worth it.

Post your daily complaint/gripe.
Thanks. I've been on biotin and other vitamins since before the surgery but I know that most of it is shock from the anesthesia. Who knows, it might have been worse without it.

6 month supervised diet question
That sort of sounds like an "exchange" diet, maybe look up diet exchanges, like old-school Weight Watchers, diabetic diets or the old Deal-A-Meal stuff.

How much oil to track for restaurant meal?
For that small of a portion it is probably 1/2 tablespoon.

10 weeks out how many calories should I be consuming
I am 11 weeks out and averaging 600-650 a day.

To snack in between meals or not to snack
I would never get in 60 grams of protein without a snack or even two because I just can't consume that much. I also consider a protein shake to be a snack because it is between meals. For me I think it is more important for my personal long-term success to keep the volume of my meals down to avoid stretching my sleeve because my biggest issue was large volume eating and binging. If someone's biggest issue was grazing, then it's probably best for them to stick to meals only. I think people just tend to associate snacking with not only junk food, but extra calories. If it is part of your overall calories, that's different.

1st post and feeling bummed
A single tangerine isn't going to make enough of a difference with your liver. Just keep strong from this point on. The shakes are vile, definitely, but you can do it!

Post your daily complaint/gripe.
My hair loss is starting and my weight loss is slowing. In a low place at the moment.

To snack in between meals or not to snack
My plan includes a 3 meals and a snack, but I have three meals and a shake, there is no way I can get even close to enough protein with just 3 meals. I also can't get in the fruits and veg they want me to eat. There is only so much room.

WTF - gained inches?!
Try it again in another day or two, and definitely in the morning. It's probably fluid.

Tailbone
The weird thing is, its not like you hear average weight or slim people complaining about their aching tailbones all the time. Weird.
-
Do you get hiccups when your getting full?
Yep, hiccups and sometimes a sneeze.
-
Tailbone
OMG, I thought I was nuts! I am only about halfway to goal, but I noticed tailbone pain once I had lost 30lbs. or so and now that I am 59lbs. down it is worse. It isn't unbearable, more of a stiffness and soreness, but I knew it had to have something to do with the loss of padding.

Any Other Sleevers who did NOT have to do liquid diet before?
No liver shrink diet for me. I was asked to lose 10-15lbs. and I lost 20, not hard at all since I had 6 months to do it. If I had lost any more I would not have qualified because I didn't have 2 co-morbidities. I had to do two days of clear liquids.

Chick-fil-a : post op
Grilled chicken, while healthier, is harder to tolerate. My personal strategy is as long as I keep to 600 calories or so and get my protein for the day and make generally good choices, it is ok to work in something like chicken nuggets. I I wouldn't have them often because they are high in fat so they have a lot of calories for a small portion, but they are ok once in a while unless they are a trigger food for you. Chicken nuggets wouldn't be a trigger food for me, but other things, like chewy carbs are, so I try to stay away from those.

How long did you cover your incisions?
My only incision was in my belly button. Self dissolving stitches and some sort of glue that formed a sort of "plug". It started to fake away about 10 days later and completely fell off in about 2-3 weeks.

8 days post up and I have a horrible heightened sense of smell?
I actually experienced the opposite, I felt like my sense of smell deadened for about 3 weeks.
-
Super dry skin
I haven't experienced that, but it makes sense because you are ingesting less fats and oils.

Lab Schedule
They told me they will do them at 6 months, but I would feel better if they did them at 3 months, I'm hoping they will honor that request. I want to see if I am doing ok on vitamins.

Ate too fast...PAIN!
I haven't had to be that strict about it, I usually can usually just sense what is ok, but I should have never started lunch knowing how pressed I was for time. It would have been better to be hungry and eat later. Never again.

Ate too fast...PAIN!
I stupidly ate my lunch too fast today because I was busy at work. The last bite gave me an unbelievable pain in upper abdomen. Really intense. I ran to the bathroom and tried to throw it up, but I couldn’t. I felt a little better though, because the gagging must have moved some stuff around. About 2 hours later I took my vitamin pills and started my shake, and while I don’t feel pain, I still feel pressure and just a weird sensation, and it is uncomfortable to drink. Can stuff get stuck going down? I mean, it can’t still be stuck because I took a pill and drank but maybe I kind of bruised something? Never again will I rush to get those damned grams of protein in. I’m 2 .5 months out and sometimes I feel normal and forget that I am early in the process and healing. I was stunned at how bad that hurt, it was scary.
