Sounds so good 😊 My Doctor program is a little more intense I think..... Clear Liquids for 10days, full liquids for 4weeks, puree for 5weeks and then soft food. Still on liquids lol -

Jess01 reacted to Ouiser in Pyloric Stenosis/Pyloromyotomy
I suspect as much as well. Same stories. Projectile vomiting no matter what was given. She took me to our family doctor - and he said "I Don't want to scare you, but this is not uncommon and you need to take him to surgery immediately". I was 10 days old. Left a pretty awesome scar on my stomach; my older brother told his friends it was a war wound - HA!

Jess01 reacted to mandmom in Caffeine
Just thought I would ask here why the pre and post diet for the gastric sleeve require no caffeinated coffee. I know it's long been believed that caffeine acts as a diuretic, and it does to those people who don't drink it daily. However there has been new studies that show that if you have been a caffeine Drinker for years the diuretic portion of caffeine is not going to affect you. If there is any other reason not to drink caffeinated coffee I would love to know. Thanks

Jess01 reacted to Rachel2018 in Sleeve Leaks
I was just curious what are the symptoms of sleeve leaks? My doctor doens’t do the swallow test anymore....found it to be unnecessary. He’s good at what he does, but I want to know what to possibly look for in case I do develop one. I want to catch it early instead of having something that keeps me in the hospital for weeks at a time. Thank you in advance.

Here to brag a bit and update on progress:
Down 50 pounds!
VSG 6/1
Pre-op 286
Current 236
Amazing to see the ongoing transformation!...
May need to reassess my "target" weight. I picked 210 because that would put me below BMI of 30 (arbitrary, I know!) ans because, well, I couldn't imagine weighing that little, let alone even less!

Jess01 reacted to Swanton_Bomb in Disturbing Realization
I've known for many years that I have a problem with food (obviously, I mean you don't become obese without having issues) but I recently came to the realization that I prefer food to pretty much everything. I would choose food over spending time with friends, a concert, shopping, a great movie, a good night's sleep, a vacation, nice clothes, anything. It satisfies me more than anything else. I knew I had a problem but this made me realize that my problem was just as serious of a compulsion as a drug or alcohol addiction. I hope I can defeat this and become healthy, not just physically, but mentally.

Jess01 reacted to sariejack in I feel scared and ashamed...
Hi everyone,
I am new to the forum. I am scheduled to have VGS on August 6th. I weigh about twice what I should and have high blood pressure. Insurance approved it and I am good to go--but I can't get over the fear of not waking up from the surgery, and the shame that I let my weight get to the point that I need medical intervention.
Has anyone else struggled with these emotions? If so, what can I do to overcome them?

My surgery is scheduled for Wednesday August 1st.
Today was the start of my clear liquid diet, half way through the day and I feel amazing.
Im getting very nervous about the surgery on Wednesday though, more scared than anything I guess.
Anyone else feel this way right before?
