  1. Interesting approach Steve . I am still having trouble getting my protein levels from Whole Foods - I just can’t eat enough at one sitting . So I have resorted to the protein drinks to ensure I get them at a low enough calorie levels . But what you say makes sense- although I am going to try doing green smoothies with unflavored protein powder , trying to get more healthy greens in my diet . If u don’t mind me asking , how much weight do u lose a week in average ?
  2. I love both the vanilla and chocolate . I heat the vanilla. In the am and as a decaf hazelnut coffee and it tastes like a latte . I keep cans in the car in case I can’t get any food that works for me . I also got the chocolate and vanilla powders and blend them with 1/2 banana , peanut butter powder and unsweetened vanilla almond milk . Best chunky monkey ice cream ever ! And I drop weight !
  3. Steve why have U jettisoned shakes ? I am convinced that the name of the game is to pack the most protein in fornthr least calories and the shakes get u there . My pure protein shakes are 35g of protein for only 160 calories . My doc says drink at least one shake a day until ur at goal - I am trying to do 2 and am going to start green smoothies with unflavored protein so I can get veggies together with protein . I am down 30 since preop and 23 since 12/20 surgery .
  4. Good luck Ellen ! Get up and walk , walk, walk . I walked every hour and my gas was gone within like 2 days of getting home
  5. Hi Sophie , had my surgery done on the 20 th by DR Shillingford near boca . I am down 30lbs since I started the preop diet , 25 since surgery . Also on purées and soft foods . Have tried chicken salad and didn’t do well so I am sticking with 2’protein drinks a day and a little cottage cheese . Have only been able to get down soft flaky fish as a proper solid here and there . At 600 calories a day and 60-80g of protein the weight is steadily coming off 3-4 lbs a week. Interestingly the more liquid I drink, the more I lose . Getting close to the 200 mark now and really can’t wait , haven’t been under 200lbs in 20 years !
  6. I Spin 4x a week and try to walk 10k steps a day . Doing light weights for now - exercise will make u feel good but won’t cause weight loss - focused on protein and liquids .
  7. All will be fine , first day will suck but get better quickly thereafter
  8. It’s pretty diluted by ice and juice. Just so everyone knows - u don’t explode or anything LOL
  9. I had sparkling water with cranberry juice at a work function the other night and all was fine . I only drank a little bit of it , was more for optics ..
  10. I found decaf peach tea in the herbal section of tea area . Also I went online and order pouches of chicken soup and strawberry sorbet protein drink from ujury, using for travel and each has 20g of protein . Just keep trying different things till u find something u like . I cannot eat enough to get my protein in so I am committed to using drinks and soups until that improves
  11. Sounds like u are doing ok . If u get 60g of protein in and 600 calories and close to 64 oz of liquids and are losing steadily u r good !
  12. Keep ur BMI above 35 if not I have a great self pay dr in florida
  13. Force in the protein , at least 60g to keep ur hair !!
  14. I had the sleeve 12/20, am down almost 30lbs. Best thing I ever did - I like the fact that my basic digestion hasn’t changed - my appetite is gone and I i am sticking to the program . I also am adamant I will never have the sugar and carbs and even alcohol the way I used to - you have to commit to a new lifestyle . Focus on intake and expenditure - ensure u get sufficient exercise . I have heard multiple bad stories about the band and many people get it taken out and replace it with the sleeve. Good luck !
  15. Supposed to be on purées 2 weeks - finally got a poached egg down today and did some cauliflower mashed potatoes and fish tonight .. getting there !?
  16. Just keep walking and sipping water and broth it gets better
  17. Congrats ! I was 12/20. Not sure I’ll be able to get off purées any time soon.. liquids still seem best...
  18. Every day gets better ! I was sleeved December 20 and walked 3 miles on Xmas day ! Felt normal within a week. Am down 27 lbs in 3 weeks ! Just keep sipping the water and walking
  19. I just had the sleeve and have been prescribed gallstone medication or 3 months to prevent the onset of stones . The dr said that quick extreme weight loss can cause gallstones
  20. Yup I had to walk for an hour 15 after 2 bites of chicken salad
  21. Steve that is definitely GERD . I had a hiatal Hernia fix but still take lansaprozole. Start on it over the counter , it will help tremendously . I have only had one really bad experience with foam and salivia and incredibly painful chest pain but it sure scared me . I keep to 2 oz a serving . Full stop . That is why the sleeve is there .if I want more 30min later I go for it , but generally I don’t . And then I wake up the next day lighter !??
  22. I too use spinning and working out to improve mood and reduce anxiety . If that’s not accessible I go for a long walk !
  23. Congrats ! Sounds like ur off to a good journey ! Stay the course !
  24. I also started at 231 with a BMI of 34 and am down to 214 in just under 3 weeks . I think the weight loss is quick if u ramp up activity and follow the 600-800 calories and 60-80g of protein plan
