Hello from a newly sleeved newbie!

  • Popular Post

Hi everyone

I've been lurking these boards for quite some time pre op and found you all to be very useful in keeping me motivated so I thought I'd finally throw myself in and start posting. I'm from the UK, England and was sleeved on the 28th December so I'm almost 2 weeks into my post op journey. I was on the milk diet for Christmas day so I've figured if I managed that then I can manage any day.

Things are going well and I seem to have had a super fast, pain free recovery compared to some from what I've read on here. (Sorry if anybody is going through a difficult recovery and is reading this - I don't mean to rub it in!) I'm looking forward to getting off of puree food now though, the texture just isn't doing it for me! x

Ah bless you, take it easy and keep to your own pace! How long do they recommend you're on purees for? As I know different surgeon's seem to have different guidelines.

I'm supposed to be 4 weeks puree with no lumps (Have completed 2) then 2 weeks soft/mashable. I've read of others who have had to remain on puree for longer though as they have found it too uncomfortable eating soft. Similarly others have advanced early, so you'll get there eventually at your own pace! x

Congrats on your recovery! I had my sleeve done 1/7/2019. It’s been trying to say the least but every day gets better. Every day I drink a little more. Pain is beginning to minimize but I did just order a gastric band for my tummy. I feel the best when there is some pressure applied to my stomach.

Heres to a speedy recovery!
