i was banded yesterday and i am more hungry than before the surgey and I didnt est for 2 weeks pre op liquid diet. my tummy is just growling away lol

i was banded yesterday n i have a big problem getting out of bed and the bathroom. I feel so sore and my port cut hurts so bad

yeah i was stressed right before the surgey.. but im doing pretty good. Ive been drnking water and sugar free popscicles. My doc said clear 3 days and i was clear 2 days before. So 2 weks after that im back to full liqids then I move uo to mushies!!! yeaaaa :thumbup:

well when I needed a doctor for the surgery I called my ins. and they told me who I could use. Did you try this? They are supposed to know at the ins. office. I will search for you also when I can

hmm i just had my surgery not even 24 hrs ago and its hard for me to breath.. i figured because of my asthma and maybe the gas they put in me for the surgery. They didnt give me breathing excersizes but I am trying to do some anyways. If I were you I would call the nurse and ask what she thinks

i have no dressings. I had my surgery today and I only have glue. I thought that was odd. But oh well lol My dr said tomorrow I can wash in the shower and it will be fine

hmm well that would make since as it seems but I am not sure they can see the fatty slime in the ultra sound. The liquid diet is very hard for all of us trust me I finally had my surgery yester day and I did 10 days liquids 2 days clear. I dont like soup without anything in it so I only dranks to KO protein water and atkins drinks. They actually are good. I didnt like they other protein drinks. So dont beat yourself up just tell yourself you have to do this and do the liquids the remainder of time you have. You dont want them to open you up just to close you back because of your liver or worse complications because of it. My surgery went great. As you can see I was banded maybe 15 hrs ago and Im online lol

I just had surgery today. I am in bed in a night gown lol No way I can wear a bra one of my cuts is right at the bra line. I brought a very comfy cotten slip on summer dress. Its great. I am in a hotel tonight because my surgery is out of town but in the US. Anyways I really would say no dont life anything. I need help getting out of bed because It stings the port cut and it actually bleed a lil so now my husband gets me out of bed. :cool2: Im doing great dont worry so will you :smile:

Surgery is DONE :smile: It went so well they let me leave about 2 or 3 hrs after the surgery. I am not in a hotel because my surgeon is about 1 1/2 hrs from my house. I am actually more hungry now than before. lol I have been walking around the room and I at some jello and pop scicles. So far everyting is good :cool2: I will keep everyone updates.

I have my surgery at 11am. I left the hospital I believe around 3 and everything went great thats why they let me go home so soon So right now all is good but I am sooo hungry.. So I guess everyones stomach is not swollen after surgery lol Well I just wanted to upday everyong :tt2::thumbup:

well I am not an alcoholic but my dad was.. the key word here is was.. I lost my dad in march he was 44 because of alcohol. I miss him more than anything and I am having a hard time in my life without him. We all tried to get him help but he didn't want it. He tried to quit but he like you would have withdraws and then drink. I begged him to go to rehab he said he will not go somewhere with those kind of people. Do you think the day my dad died he knew he was going to? I'm sure not his house was full of vodka. He just thought another day. He told me the day before he died that he was an alcoholic not a drunk ( I have never seen my dad drunk in my whole life) and that if he went to the dr for pills to help him sleep or for depression whats the difference. There really was no reasoning with dad. But now I don't have a dad I feel pretty much alone since he was my friend not just my dad. It has been about 3 months now and I still wait for him to knock on my door or to call me on the phone. I will never have a dad again now I have nothing because of alcohol. I am telling you this so you will know there are people who love you and will miss you so much if your gone. Please go to rehab and change your life.

Ok sooo surgery is tomorrow!!!! I am down 10 pounds from being on liquids for 10 days :thumbup: I am very happy about that. I am excited for the surgery tomorrow and as soon as I can type I will update everyone on what is happening with me yeahh!!!!

I was told by the ins that it is very important to go once a month each of the 6 months and if not I would have to do 6 months after the missed appointment. I have bcbs of mn also like I said. My dr also had someone denied for missing her apt one month and she had to start from the begining.

I have bcbs of MN and I gained weight on my 6 month diet. I was approved in 2 days :confused_smile: dont worry just make sure your dr is taking the notes correctly :smile2:

Well to day is a happy day.. today is monday I will be banded on wednesday.. I have worked so hard to this point just to be approved the emotional stress was more sometimes then I thought I could bare but I did and I made it... I made it through the liquid diet and the apointments the 1 1/2 hour drive sometimes 3 times a month the putting my life on hold for the past 6 months. I am ready now to have a healthy life. Ready for it to change :thumbup: Now I will get back to the post about my liquid diet. As I posted yesterday I ate something so I was not suprised when I woke up this morning and had not lost a pound but I still average a pound a day because the first day I lost 2 pounds so I am still down 9 pounds.. but today I will only do clear liquids I was supposed to start tomorrow but since I cheated by a very little bit yesterday today I will punish myself I had a 10 cal jello cup this morning sugar free and I will try some chicken broth later. I also got an excersize machine and did 15 mins this morning :tt2: wooohooo lapband here i come

well I started my process in Dec 07 it took so long because my ins required the 6 month diet. If you dont need a 6 month diet you can get everything done in a week. I had all my test ran on the 9th. I am soooo excited about my surgery!!!

well I dont know whats going on... on the ninth I had all my testing so I am fine 100 % its just very strange and I really dont want to call my surgery center because I dont want to have my surgery pushed off I just really was curious if anyone else had the same problem. I will see on monday how I feel. :biggrin: But I know I am not consipated because I have not eaten in 7 days. I am drinking protein water and atkins honestly I dont like much else so I thought maybe because I am consuming so little I was having the pain. I dont know.

ok i have bcbs of mn so I can share my experience with them :biggrin: I was approved in 2 days :mad: I hear this alot from bcbs fast approvals. So do your six month diet make sure your doctor documents why your there what your doing to loose weight and excersize every month I ended up seeing a nutristionist and my pcp for the 6 month diet because mye drs notes were not detailed enough. Also during the 6 months use that time to meet all the other requirements the phyc eval. the classes if the surgeon reqires them. Have your doctor write a letter you write a letter just have anyone write a letter lol I was approved in 2 days then my surgery was scheduled for 2 weeks latter. But no one called me I only knew from me called the ins and then calling the dr.

well I will tell you this... if it wasnt for my ins wanting the 6 month diet it all would have been fast with my center in lafayette because I had my last 6 month apt gave the center the paper work that monday the 23rd they sent it in that friday and I was approved that monday on the 30th and the surgery was scheduled 2 weeks later on the 16th BUT when I was in the pre op class the others had to wait 6 weeks for there pre op apt and to schedule the surgery... this is what I did... I call call call but not in an aggrivating way or to bother them I call when I have a problem I explain Im stressed out I just want to know this and that and I get to the person I need to talk to I believe thats the only reason mine moved so fast because I was persistant :biggrin: I called the ins everyday (even though it was only 2 days to approve) and I called the center the moment i found out i was approved and asked to schedule the surgery. Sooo be persistant because if your not they will put whoever is before you. :mad: lol now I said my rant oh mine is at southwest medical center in lafayette
