hmm im starving also i wish wish i could have mushies I really dont know any thing to help but I will say you have to remember you dont want your band to slip so remind yourself you cannot eat reg food our you could end up in surgery again.. this is what i remind myself. Let me know what happens

oh I just realized I never updated this thread... ok you wont believe it but you know what was making my stomach hurt? My Rx that the doctor gave me for acid reflux. Its Prilocec or omeprazole. I noticed the next day I didnt take it and I was fine so I asked the dr and he said to quit taking it and no more pain :crying:

HI I just wanted to let anyone know that my experience was good :crying: I was banded on july 16th. I gave the paper work over on monday june 23rd they filed by that friday and I was approved on that monday. So the nice ppl in the office is Kate the nutritionist and Audre. If you do go with them you have to stay on them all the time and ask lots of questions.. Everything went great for me because I did this but some other that I spoke to waited 6 weeks just for an appointment. So like my grandmaw always says the squeeky wheel gets the oil :eek: I tried to be that squeeky wheel :frown:

I have only been banded for 5 days.. but my dr says wine is fine.. he did say when I first try it after the band to try just a couple of sips because it can make you drunk very fast with the band. I have family with the band who drink wine all the time also so I never seen it to be a problem. :crying:

OK Its monday day 5 Last night I am happy to say I had my first full nights sleep I also woke up flat on my back and I was comfy this morning not feeling any pain or gas. I have been sleeping sitting straigt up. I dream everynight of food. Last night it was donuts lol.. I believe its been 16 or 17 days now that I have not eaten anything. Who could have guessed I could go that long without food!! Not me I didnt know its possible. I have to say that I owe my good sleep to someone on this website who said Gas X strips were not working for her so she bought walgreens brand malox. I sent my husband for some took it before bed and had a good night sleep and I dont feel bloated right now :tongue2: Thanks for that

ok I have a question... are yall getting nausus? I started to last night. I have a pain in my back like I swollowed a golf ball and it didnt go down. Now if I ate something I would understand but all Ive had is liquids. Mainly just water. Very odd I will be so happy to have food again I hate soup and I am sooo tired of protien :ohmy: Im very happy to finally have my band so I dont want to complain :biggrin: Just I feel so sick to my tummy :blushing:

I will go buy it now.. I bought the gas x strips also and it does not work at all!!! Walgreens is right next to my house I will send my husband off lol

Ok so I am very curious how this is possible. I was on the liquid diet and lost one pound a day. So then I had the surgery and today is the 4th day I consume around 200 calories a day and I have not lost anything since the surgery. I read on here that most ppl dont loose the 1st week after sugery.. but how is that possible? I am a lil confused on this. If anyone knows the answer please explain

ooh you and I are in the same boat. I was banded wednesday also and this is the problem i am having. I sleep sitting up I cant lay down either because I would hurt to much to get up. My husband helps me out the bed. Im sure it will get better it seems like something we r all going through.

hi everyone.. today is my 3rd day banded.. Its so funny how before the surgery I was on liquid diet and I was ok but when I woke up from the surgery my stomach was growling so I have been starving since the surgery lol But I dont feel like drinking I guess thats normal hungry but not to want anything. The hard part for me is the port insicion. It hurts alot and burns I have to press my stomach there as I walk. I hope that passes soon So how are yall feeling? Any of the same feelings?

my doc did not put any dressings I left the hospital like this. I am 3 days post op or 4. It doesnt look open but thet glue is wearing off and making me nervous. I will call my dr on monday If I am really worried. He even told my husband that i could shower the next day after surgery and wash them.. Which I did. Soo I dont know.. but I have been in the bed pretty much because the pain meds knock me out also.

My incisions were glued by my surgeon no stitches or staples. Today I woke up the glue is soft like its slowly wearing away and the incisions burn and hurt like they will pop open. Is this normal for anyone else? Im scared to move and I know I need to be walking so I dont get blood clots. Any info is helpfull :scared2: Thanks

i was banded on the 16th and cant even go anywhere much less work lol But I have a friend who did like you went back to work after a few days and she did fine. If you go in and ur hurting just go home. Just dont push urself :thumbup:

ahhh Im glad you mentioned about the weight thing. I have been on clear fluids only for 4 days now and I was banded wednesday I got on the scale and it said the same as it did before I banded. I was losing a pound a day before the surgery... So Im glad to hear that will go away :thumbup: With me its not so much the Gas pains it the port pain.. That cut is the biggest one and I feel like it will rip out my stomach. It also burns. But anyways thats my gripe

hmm I did not see this attack either. OK I have only had my band for 3 days but people keep telling me the same thing your saying miami. They say well if you can go 4 weeks with no food then you dont need to surgery.. NOT TRUE I can go 4 weeks without eating because I know I have a tool to help me once I start eating again. I look at it like this if you do what your supposed to do and get the fills and follow the instructions then you can have a healthy life and loose the weight. But it will take a while to get there. You have to look at it like this... You can diet all year and loose 40 pounds just to gain it back next yr or you can try to get the right fill over the next year and not have to worry about your weight anymore. I dont know if I am of any help after all I am still pumped with pain meds from the surgery lol

no I was insurance... what you dont see is that I had 7months of heck and jumping through hoops before I got that approval lol... Also yes I am sooo hungry tummy keeps growling

I was banded on the 16th also :thumbdown: In lafayette la. Anyways I was soooo surprised when I woke up so hungry. My tummy will not stop growling. I didnt even have this on my 2 week pre op liquid diet. I do feel alot of port pain. Like when I cough I feel like it will rip open We should keep in touch since we have the same band date :eek:

i feel you I was banded wednesday.. I hurt also and breathing is a lil hard. i am sure it will gett better for us:) we just have to deal with it for a while before we start to enjoy it.

im still on clear liquids so all I had 4 days now is water and popscicles. Tomorrow I can have my protein drinks and I am really looking forward to it lol

OK so this is my third day with the band or really 2 1/2 day because my surgery was around 12 noon on wednesday. Anyways... This is what I am experiencing... Its hard to breath and I am doing the breathing excersize but then of course I cough and man it feels like my port will rip straight through my stomach. It HURTS. Also I have been sooo hungry. Before the surgery I did the 2 week liquids and I was not near as hungry as I am now lol. Of course I will not eat I like to follow my drs orders 100%. :thumbdown: So I know I am complaining but I really just want to hear what yall went through the first few days and encourage me pls lol

They gave me mepergan fortis for pain because it has an anti nausia in it but i really dont think it helps much besides making me sleep. So next thing I am more hungry now then before the band and I was on 2 weeks liquid before the band lol Yes I know the band is empty. Lets see besides that..well thats the main things.
