  1. YEAH DonnaMarie!!! :clap2: :laugh :cheer2: :bounce: :Banane33: Congratulations!!:woot: I know you are elated. Your right, July will be here b4 you know it and your house will keep you busy. We moved over 2 yrs ago and I still have boxes to unpack.
  2. I don't know much about this, but I wonder if you would copy/paste it into Excel and then try to copy/paste it into here from Excel. Sounds weird, but stranger things have happened. ~Good Luck~
  3. Hi Wheestin ~ I am so sorry to hear about your husbands accident, although I'm glad to hear he is OK as well as the others involved. As others have stated, they are going to be very sore for awhile. I was involved in an accident the day b4 Thanksgiving last year. It was a very snowy day & we were all going very slow on a 4 lane highway. Next thing I know, this man made a u-turn on the freeway and we slid right into him. To make matters worse, the spot was not even marked (like some of them have signs saying no u-turn) and was completely snow covered. My son was with me and I will always sing the praises of Britax car seats....they are the best....he didn't have one complaint...ever!! I ended up with deep bruising in my left shoulder from the seat belt. I took Flexeril (muscle relaxer) for a long time after my accident and also had physical therapy. The officer on the scene said I was following too close and I argued with him saying I was way behind and was going very slow. He told me on the spot he was putting me as car #1, which meant for insurance purposes, I was at fault. I grabbed my camera out of the car and told him I was taking my own pics b/c I know there was nothing I could have done differently. I was able to limp my van home after being pulled out of the ditch and immediately called State Farm. Within 20 min we had a claim number and approval for a rental. This was wonderful b/c we were all ready to travel home for the holiday. I then rec'vd a call from the officer. He asked me a few more questions, then said after he talked with the other guy some more, he was changing him to car #1 b/c he was making an illegal u-turn. I consulted an attorney free of charge to cover myself. He said this should be easily settled with State Farm and the other insurance company. Since we didn't have extensive injuries or major damage to our van, it wouldn't be worth it to pursue a claim. I agreed. He said State Farm is a giant and they are known to be "pit bulls" when pursing their interests. So far so good. I always get a check from State Farm for any expenses related to this within a few days after filing. They are great. Didn't mean to rattle on. Anyway, from what I have learned from my experience, this is what I would do. 1. Contact your insurance company and get a claim number. 2. Get that number to the tow company (unless you paid on the scene) and the repair facility. 3. Document EVERY conversation with date, time, & person. 4. Consult an attorney. Most will do this for free. Let them advise you on future conversations regarding the accident. 5. You do NOT have to give a statement to the other insurance company. This is only a courtesy and you should NOT do it. Let your insurance company handle this or an attorney if you get one. Here's what I told them per my attorney when they wanted me to give a recorded statement: "I haven't concluded medical treatment and I think in my best interest at this point to contact an attorney." 6. Have your husband seen by your PCP. Have you tired contacting the officer on the scene instead of calling the dept? You can get a copy of the police report. I think I had to pay $5 and it was a couple of days later. There were tons of accidents that day. Take care & I hope your husband will heal quickly!! Keep us posted.
  4. Do you have any bullion cubes in the house? I know when I was on Optifast, this was lifesaver for me. Since I'm preband, I have NO idea if this is a good thing or not. I know I bought the Herb Ox brand b/c it has a lower sodium amt than the other brands. Those dog-gone periods are rough on a body. :phanvan Good luck ~ You have many here that are cheering you on!!
  5. I can relate even though I'm preband....I just finished myself and couldn't eat enough Ore Ida FF's. If I had the band, I would have made myself sick eating that.....don't do it!!! It's not worth it. Stay home and eat what you have there. Pudding sounds goooood....yummy!! Really, I mean that. I love the stuff. STAY STRONG!!!
  6. This wasn't me. I don't have a daughter. Sorry. It was an e-mail I rec'vd today. Kids are priceless!!
  7. I had no idea there were even names for these people. I can say I've seen trolls on here and now I am armed to deal with them. :heh: Thanks for sharing this article!!!

  9. THE MOMMY TEST I was out walking with my 4 year old daughter. She picked up something off the ground and started to put it in her mouth. I took the item away from her and I asked her not to do that. "Why?" my daughter asked. "Because it's been laying outside, you don't know where it's been, it's dirty and probably has germs" I replied. At this point, my daughter looked at me with total admiration and asked, "Wow! How do you know all this stuff?" "Uh," ...I was thinking quickly," All moms know this stuff. It's on the Mommy Test. You have to know it, or they don't let you be a Mommy." We walked along in silence for 2 or 3 minutes, but she was evidently pondering this new information. "OH...I get it!" she beamed, "So if you don't pass the test you have to be the daddy." "Exactly" I replied back with a big smile on my face and joy in my heart. When you're finished laughing, send this to a Mom.
  10. Thank you Susan!! :clap2: This is what I needed. I knew there was something to this, but didn't know or understand the details. This is great info. I need to read it again when the kids aren't screaming so I can absorb more of it. Thanks again!! :biggrin1:
  11. My heart hurts for you. I wished I could call them myself. :phanvan There are rules and reasons for them, but do you think it would help to get a supervisor involved? I always told them my surgeon said it would take 2-3 mos to get a surgery date after approval (which is exactly what I was told....I was flexible being a SAHM and got in sooner) and I needed to move this along as quickly as possible. Another thing is, I involved a rep that worked for my husband's company (not insurance) since we are self-funded. She really was a tremendous help and put my file into the hands of the PreD supervisor and gave her a deadline. Also, I had my surgeon's office call. They got a bit more info than I was able to on my own. Not sure if this is of any help, but wanted to extend the info just in-case. I will continue to lift you up in prayer. He is greater than anything we face in life. He is right there with you. This will happen....it's just in His time. I will pray for you to have peace while your waiting. Keep your chin up and know we are here for you as well!!
  12. Someone will need to help me out on this, but I read where your hormones increase b/c the fat cells hold something (some kind of hormone) and when you lose between your pre-op diet, surgery, and then start taking weight off, it throws your body out of balance. It's kind of like having high hormones during pregnancy. Is this clear as mud? Sorry I don't know more. Maybe someone can step in and explain it in more detail. I think this is why it's common for surgeons to put their patients on antidepressants b/c it helps balance your body.

This is way too funny!!
  14. It's graphic, but informative...enjoy..... http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=3190472028990485080&q=lap+band
  15. Maybe I'll drive them to you. My brother lives in Suffolk, VA and we've been talking about taking a trip....that's b4 gas prices shot up. I think these bars are YUCKO (is that a word?) so I wouldn't recommend them unless you already know you like them. BTW, I will mail them to anyone. I have over 500+ feedbacks on E-Bay so shipping is old hat to me.
  16. Oh Jessie, that is too bad about the owner. :phanvan Aren't you thankful to have a choice though? I have been in jobs were I have had to take a lot of crap b/c I supported myself for a long time. Johnny Paycheck sings a song that comes to mind.........something about shove it. :heh:
  17. UPDATE....I discoverd the real reason my husband thought I spent too much time on LBT. :phanvan I finally asked him why he doesn't spend much time on the computer anymore. Understand, we have his & hers computers. He said b/c your always down there and I want to give you time away from the kids. He was giving me peace & quiet and allowing me "mommy time". We now understand each other. :biggrin1: I get still get some alone time on the computer, then he will come down with the kids. We have a finished basement, so we'll put in a movie or something. Marriage is a wonderful gift, but communication is the key.
  18. I am shooting for a 100 lb weight loss. It seems overwhelming to put down such a big number, but I intend to "plan the work and work the plan". I'll get there one pound at at time and would consider myself successful even if it took me 1.5 - 2 yrs to do it. This is major and takes major changes in my head more than my body. I thank the Lord everyday for LBT!!! I can relate to you Scout....I look forward to the day I can put my real weight on my drivers license. My husband has looked at mine b4 and I would just DIE if he ever knew how much I really weighed at this point in time. I protect that number with my life. The video is awesome!! I would send it to any loved ones or friends that is interested in the process. A lot of people don't understand what this surgery really entails. My mom thought I would wear a band around the outside of my waist. God bless her. She now knows better.
  19. Oh no....how terrible!! It's not on Nascar.com yet. I just can't imagine what their family is going through. It's such a fun thing to go to the track and this is the last thing you would expect. :cry I'll be watching for more info on it. BTW, my mom sent me an e-mail last week and I saved a special gift for you. I just knew you would love it. Just right click on the pic and save it to your hard drive. DISCLAIMER*PLEASE NOTE* I am no way affiliated with this driver.....GO SMOKE!!
  20. I purchased these South Beach bars and I could only eat 1 bite. Maybe it's b/c I'm preband and still enjoying my real chocolate. I will gladly send these to anyone that would like them...free of charge. I would pitch them b/c I don't know of anyone around here that likes them. I have 5 bars total of the South Beach Diet Meal Replacement Bars, Chocolate Crisp. Just PM me and they're yours. :biggrin1:
  21. Ooo....Oooo....how about some Amish panties? We live very close to Amish country and you have tempted me to shop for Amish underwear. I bet they're homemade and last longer than the kind we usually buy. Don't be surprised if you get a package from IN.
  22. :wow2: It's great to see so many getting their band in May. This is a great group. We have a lot to share and learn from each other. And how about those May bdays to boot? I can't think of a better bday present. :biggrin1: I wish everyone the best and look forward to getting to know all of you better. :clap2:
  23. Oh my goodness....your daughter is so precious!! Lovely petunias too!! Dragonwillow ~ Could your ground cover be creeping phlox? Mine is starting to bloom. They tend to creep, hence the name.
  24. Thank You....you are so sweet!! Have you joined the May thread yet? I just added my name.
  25. Hey, I'm joining this group!! I wanted to earlier, but wanted to wait on a solid date. I will be banded May 26th at noon!! My bday is the 31st, so I was hoping to be banded b4 that date. Looks like a lot of you are in the beginning of May.....guess I'll be one of the bandsters to bring up the rear!! This is a great group and I'm proud to be part of it!!! Is there anyone else with a bday in May?
