lionsofmercy reacted to Danny Paul in New sleevers: Anyone else simply exhausted and napping?
I was tired all the time after my surgery. The first two weeks I was on a liquid diet. The reason for the tiredness was twofold. 1- My body was healing from the surgery and 2- I was only getting liquids. After a week and a half I started feeling more energetic.

June 13th! Icky as all the I-just-had-major-surgery stuff is, at least I don't have the anxiety of waiting and the frustration of the pre-op diet anymore. Big non-offensive hugs to those still in queue.

lionsofmercy got a reaction from Frustr8 in Eggdrop Soup, better than broth.
OK, I'm puzzled here on day #8 post-sleeve. My program's nutritionist advocated eggdrop Soup for the Stage 2 liquid diet. But what about the eggs? Don't they count as solid? I tried to compromise and sorta ate around most of them, and I must admit tummy is happy despite having gotten some egg. (This is the Chinese take-out variety--we're out of broth here now.)

If I were to close a fast food chain, it wouldn't be because the food was disgusting. It would be the one that tempts me most! Popeye's chicken - 'cause it's all about me, don'tcha know! Spicy fried chicken and red Beans & rice, yikes!

I see elformans pont. Think of another way - what if someone just nonchalantly offered to slaughter a chicken as a token of goodwill for your upcoming surgery? Or if someone offered to perform a ritual to their lord and master Satan? Many people would be aghast at the thought.
On the other hand, if someone said prayers were being done for me, I would just assume they meant positive thoughts and let it roll off my back. If someone is posting something that a is looking for support, offering to pray for someone is just that persons way of showing support. No different than saying Merry Christmas to a stranger who is actually Jewish. Take the comment as it was intended, not as an innuendo to convert another.

Tincture of time. I'd give it a while before panicking that you Have Something New. (You do; you have a new tummy and all your innards are cranky.) You were probably intubated during your procedure, and your poor esophagus got yanked around. I'm a week out, and mine is getting much better. Teeny sips, and hang in there!

lionsofmercy got a reaction from Pearldrop in TMI - Pooping at work
Good to know. But we can have issues, apparently.

On my fourth or fifth day post-op, I was alone so treated myself to a toot. Imagine my dismay when my solo was, um, not just musical but liquid as well. Glaring at my undies in the bathroom trash, I scrubbed for what seemed like ten minutes to mop up this THICK BLACK SLUDGE--it reminded me of printer's ink. I was terrified to ever leave the house again, let alone enter a pool or something, but my nurse manager explained that it was all the blood left over from the surgery. Yeesh!
