  1. Also remember that if you are feeling hungry the more protien you get the better. Unjury has the unflavored kind of protien supplement. You can add a tablespoon or so to creamed (strained of blended soups) or anything you want to get more protien. That will help you stay full longer. I think it sounds like you're doing real good. I would save the pudding for a treat and choose yogart through the day. The light and fit yogart drinks are good and not much sugar in them. Keep up the good work!
  2. Thanks I can't believe the surgery is tomorrow!
  3. Oh ok I know where that is.... I've never been to San Antonio but would love to go I've heard it's really pretty there.... Only a couple days left now, my nerves are shot! LOL
  4. Wow that's sooooo great! I can't wait to show progress pics!
  5. Awww I'm sorry you are having such a hard time. I have heard that depression can sink in after surgery and since I already struggle with depression I hope mine doesn't get worse. Have you tried eating some different things? Since you're on full liquids you can have protien shakes, broth, and the drinkable yogarts. Things like that. Also maybe getting out and moving around will help. Call some friends and get together with them. Just some ideas! I hope you feel better soon!
  6. Congrats! Keep us posted!
  7. That's hilarious I do the same thing!!!! I got it from my mom!
  8. I won't be banded until the 26th and I was worried about moving to different food stages too. However yesterday I went to my pre op testing and they reviewed what you can eat and when, I felt a little better about it after that. I just figured that I would try things little by little and listen to my body. Everyone will react different to everything so my advice is just take it one food at a time. If it works then you'll know for next time! Good luck!
  9. My surgery is next Tuesday the 26th and I'm really starting to get nervous! I'm excited and can't wait to start this new journey, but I have to say my nerves are shot I've been nauseous for days. I went to the pre-op testing and it was very informative, I really liked the hospital and felt comfortable and I know there is no reason to worry, but for some reason I can't help it. Is anyone else freaked out?
  10. Yes we do need to keep in touch! Where are you from in Dayton? Where are you at now?
  11. I am next Tuesday the 26th!
  12. Yes it does... anything that's excluded in an insurance policy is something that's not covered. You could look into self paying I know there are some companies that guarantee financing 1 procedure.
  13. The time is finally almost here! I'm having my surgery on Aug 26th (next tuesday) I'm very excited! I have to say thanks to everyone this site is great! I found so much info on here that helped me and will help in the future! Also I started a blog about my journey please check it out and let me know what you think! It's in my siggy! Thanks
  14. Hi everyone! I just wanted to introduce myself, my name is Emily and I just got my surgery date for Aug 26th!!! I'm very excited and can't wait to share this journey with all of you. A little about me: I am a single mom, I have 2 daughters. Morgan is 7 and Mara is 5. I work full time in customer service and study real estate investing. I look forward to meeting you all! Emily
  15. I just got insurance approval today!!! The surgeon's office called and scheduled my pre-op appointment with them next Friday! I hope it's not much longer after that!
  16. Hey everyone! I just wanted to post how things are going. I went to the seminar last night, it was very informative and I liked the surgeons. I called and made my first appointment tomorrow and they have it scheduled May 2nd! Which is next Friday I was suprised I could get in that soon, but I'm glad! I'm VERY excited to be on my way! Emily
  17. Thanks.... I am so excited... about how long do you guys think it will take now that I'm starting the process to actually have the surgery? Emily
  18. I've been waiting and waiting! My seminar is tomorrow, just the start of a very long journey! Just wanted to share my excitement with everyone! Emily
  19. Scottay- I didn't read all of the comments but I read your original post and just wanted to give my 2 cents. It's good that you are a loving husband and want to support your wife. I think a lot of men are like it and go about it in the wrong way. Speaking from my own experience my kid's dad was kind of like you supportive of me losing weight and wanted to help and he wasn't making me cry about it but he was part of the reason I was.... if you want to help your wife truely help her..... tell her everyday how beautiful and sexy you think she is just the way she is. That's what it took for me I'm in a wonderful relationship now with a man who has told me everyday how much he adores me, the sexier he made me feel the more I wanted to do this for myself. He was the stepping stone that made me remember a time when I felt beautiful and happy. Your wife I'm sure will appreciate you stepping back and treating her like there is no other women in the world, be patient she'll make the decision on her own and then be thankful that you were supportive of her. Emily
  20. Wow and u've lost 117 pounds... how is ur stomach? what kind of exercises do u do?
  21. Wow! That's great you lost so much, I hope I can do just as well. And I know what you mean about reconsidering I'm curious to see if there's a lot of difference in people who work out and those that don't. I'm 29 and have 2 kids and even though I may still be fairly young I am starting to notice a wrinkle here and there and it really made me think about the actual sagging after such a dramatic weight loss. Hopefully I won't have to have other procedures in the end I guess it's going to come down to can I live with it or not :crying: Thanks for your post! Emily
  22. Hi all I'm new here and not banded yet but I literally CAN'T WAIT! My question to all of you though is about loose skin. I really don't want to have to have skin removal, I'm 215 pounds now and only 5'3 so I have about 85 pounds I'd like to lose. I'm starting to think about what kind of excerise will be best and how often I can exercise and I was wondering I have a friend who had the full gastric bypass she has A LOT of loose skin granted she did great and went from 354 down to 160 but she had never exercised and I'm wondering for all of you who do exercise how is your skin do you have the loose skin problems she has? Thanks Emily
  23. Hi everyone... I'm new here so I will probably have a million questions I decided to look into Lap Band surgery after trying soooo many other things for weight loss. I go for the seminar on April 23rd I'm very excited about it. I'm hoping after that it won't take long to have the actual surgery. I told my my boyfriend I was having it done he thinks I'm crazy LOL but his thing is always "babe I love you how you are but whatever makes you happy" He's so sweet, I don't know what he'll think when I'm skinny He's normal sized for a guy but he'll tell you, he doesn't like skinny women says he needs someone who can keep him warm at night So any advice from anyone? How long did it take you all to actually have the surgery? Once you made the decision? Emily SW/CW/GW 215/215/120
  24. Hi all My name is Emily and I just wanted to introduce myself. I'm totally new to all of this (just going to the 1st seminar on 4-23) I'm very excited and hope the process goes fast (since I'm impatient) and of course smoothly. I have 2 daughters Morgan will be 7 next week and Mara just turned 5. I am a single mom, I work full time outside the home so I have my plate full. I look forward to getting to know everyone!
