  1. That's terrible. Hope the antibiotics kick it quickly!
  2. I don't believe I ever experienced "full" like she was talking about. Not even on Thanksgiving. I think I'm leptin-challenged!
  3. I requested one because of a family history of enlarged heart.
  4. Gas_X has a chewable that I used.
  5. I think we just need to accept the fact that these forums have many different personality types, who have many different opinions, and are following the advice of many different doctors, who have vastly different life experiences, who have widely different diplomacy skills, with major differences in culture, age, education and support. If there was only one way to lose weight successfully, even within the surgical realm, we'd all have done it and we'd all have the same result. But we don't. We all have asked a lot of questions; some are brilliant, some are brain burps. Generally, if someone is taking the time to post a reply to a thread, I believe they are trying to be helpful. All we can do is try to help each other out, share victories and be supportive during struggles. Hugs to all. p.s. for you good grammarians out there - I realize that was one hum-dinger of a run-on sentence!
  6. While you're off work, take naps when you need to. You're recovering from major surgery and your body needs healing time. For some reason, since the surgery is elective, we don't seem to think we need that bit of consideration. The sleep will even out as your body heals. You probably shouldn't weigh yourself at all for the first week or two. The hospital pumped you full of fluids, plus you have swelling that needs to resolve. Be kind to yourself. It will get better
  7. I never felt full on liquids. But you're probably not really hungry. You've been attacked by the craving monster. I had terrible cravings for several weeks. But eventually it did die down.
  8. Welcome and congrats on your progress thus far! I have learned a ton since I joined!
  9. Me, too (but not #metoo)
  10. Can you please translate to hip-hop for me?
  11. Can you swallow pills yet? That might be easier.
  12. I used to eat very "Mediterranean" - love it. My problem was quantity, not quality
  13. OMgosh, 20 grams of protein in one meal - yikes! I looked at my log and the most I've ever gotten from "real food" was 12, and that was yogurt! On solid food (other than protein bars which I now use for breakfast), the most I've ever hit was 9!
  14. I thought Isopure was dreadful. I used it pre-op. It leaves the most disgusting film in your mouth, imho. I had 3 bottles left over, brought them to a support meeting to give away - no takers. So, if you decide to try it, I wouldn't stock up all at once!
  15. Congrats on your surgery and losing 10% of your weight already! The 3rd week stall is pretty common and infamous. It usually coincides with transitioning to more normal foods. Just keep doing your plan and the scale will move!
  16. Thanks guys, I'll call the doctor and see if I can get my vitamin levels checked early. They don't plan on doing them for another month. Creekimp13, I hadn't considered depression. Maybe I'll make a followup call with the therapist if the vitamins check out. Thank you both for your concern!
  17. I keep reading about you guys with all the energy and enthusiasm, but I just don't get it. I am exhausted. I'm normally a morning person and I can hardly drag myself out of bed. I have trouble focusing at work and start thinking about going to bed at 8:30. I'm just wiped out. I'm forcing myself to exercise (not as much as the doc would like) but otherwise, I have no desire to do anything. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance! p.s. I get 70-80g of protein a day and over 100 oz of water.
  18. I've got a sleeve, so no dumping, no sugar penalty. But it was only about 30 calories total anyway. But they felt like the most awful, guiltiest calories ever!
  19. Congratulations, that is awesome!
  20. Yeah, that's the big rule. They want to make sure you hit your protein goals for the day, plus the protein "sticks" in your stomach, making you feel full. So you eat the protein first, then if you're still hungry, add veggies and fruit, etc. I'm just a wild woman today
  21. OK, I went to the grocery store after work to pick up a rotisserie chicken and some veggies - good so far. Picked up 6 cans of tuna on sale, still good. 2 loaves of bread - not for me - still good. Wandered down the produce aisle and what do I see? The most gorgeous pears! Beautiful, gold with a rosy blush. Temptation! I picked them up - perfectly ripe - soft but not bruised. I succumbed and brought them home. I still could have made good choices, but . . . No, I did not eat protein first! Yes, I washed off one of those beauties and ate nearly 1/3 of it before the consequences of my actions caught up with me. Now I'm guiltily sitting here stuffed to my tonsils but it was worth it! I think the snake offered Eve a pear and the Bible just got it wrong! Who else needs to confess?
