  1. I think the accomplishment is making a plan, committing to it and then following through. No one knows at this point whether we'll succeed or not, but they're proud of us for making the effort. The whole process is scary, especially the surgery. They're proud that you followed through on something that they would be scared to death to attempt. They're applauding your bravery and determination, not that you've decided to become "normal", imo.
  2. I've gotten this but I appreciate it. My interpretation is that they've been worried about my health and they're happy that I made such a big decision to better my life. I actually think it's very much the same as congratulating someone on getting their Masters. I got mine in 2011 at the ripe old age of 52! You'll probably get a lot more years use out of yours! Congrats!
  3. Fantastic, congratulations!!!!
  4. Ask your doctor. Don't wait until your appointment. Call the office. They should be happy to respond. Forums like this are great for general advice, but no one here is treating you, knows you, knows what surgery you're having, etc. Asking for medical advice here is dangerous.
  5. Yes, it is a major problem, in my opinion.
  6. Thank you. I have trouble imagining it myself! That will be like a 29-year trip back in a time machine!
  7. Have you had success baking with protein supplements? Which ones did you use, please?
  8. Thank you, these sound amazing!
  9. I'm 5 months out and still use protein water or shakes nearly every day. I can't hit my protein target with food yet.
  10. Congratulations, that's awesome news! And you'll be providing answers for everyone else going down this path in the future! Sounds like a wonderful program. The more post-op support, the better, imho! Prayers that all goes smoothly!
  11. Or maybe because you're hauling around 62 lbs. less of you? That's like giving an 8-yr-old a piggy-back ride all day long!
  12. Congrats, that's great!
  13. Perfectly normal. The gas and liquid in your stomach are trying to move through all the swelling and crying out in frustration! Congrats on your surgery. Best wishes for a speedy recovery!
  14. I hit the jackpot on these quotes today!
  15. I get this one in more ways than one!
  16. Good luck! The forums will give you lots of ideas for things to do as you prepare!
  17. Welcome! This is a very friendly, supportive community. I've learned so much here!
  18. Donate them to the local homeless shelter and thank God you didn't buy 6 boxes. They are craving boosters!
  19. Not just the photo - make sure you have measurements, too. Often, when we hit a stall weight-wise, the measurements keep moving and that is very motivational!
  20. No matter how hard I've worked out, I swear I have never met an endorphin! Might as well be a unicorn that farts rainbows!
  21. You strike me as the least delusional person I know, LOL!
