  1. You can have lots of things. It just depends on how you want to spend your calories. But as an occasional treat, I'm sure these are not the worst choice out there. But beware, Atkins products use a lot of sugar alcohols and a lot of people get dumping with them.
  2. Wow, you're scaring the crap out of me. I'm on 40mg 2x/day. I hope you find some answers. I'll be following to see what you find out. Good luck.
  3. Pepcid is also recommended as short-term use only. https://www.rxlist.com/pepcid-drug.htm#description
  4. Are you at least getting good tape measure results? I care more about that than the weight.
  5. Congrats, that's fantastic!
  6. Why do you feel guilty about broth?
  7. Congratulations on your success! Awesome job!
  8. Congrats! You're doing great! Why did you stop taking some of the measurements?
  9. Congrats on your success so far and best wishes for a smooth surgery and quick recovery!
  10. I've known this for years. Didn't have proof, but knew it in my heart. All that calories-in, calories-out BS was always nonsense. Our bodies are not sealed science experiments. They adjust. Maybe if I'd gone to med school instead of engineering school I would have found the proof for this a long time ago. Yes, eating a calorie deficit will reduce weight. I know that. The problem is trying to determine the baseline before you can calculate a deficit.
  11. After a week or two the swelling goes down and you can drink pretty normally. No big gulps, but normal.
  12. Did you look in the food & nutrition forum? https://bariatricpal.com/forum/1048-food-and-nutrition/
  13. Off Topic - Why did you change your username?
  14. That's the size I'd need at my house, maybe 2 of them!
  15. Wishing you all the best in your post-forum life!
  16. Totally fine. While you shouldn't take big gulps, once the swelling has gone down, you should be able to drink pretty much normally. Liquids won't stretch your pouch and you won't really start to feel restriction until you move on to soft foods. Believe me, you'll understand the difference when you get there! Congrats on doing so well!
  17. What are the best sugar substitues for 1-adding to cold food 2-adding to beverages 3-cooking/baking There are so many options, I'd like to hear what you've enjoyed (ok, and what you hated, too!) Thanks!
  18. I'm so sorry to hear about your mother, what a sad and stressful time for you. My thoughts are with you and your family. I can't really help with the meals. I still get the lion's share of my protein with shakes. Good luck on your journey.
  19. Honestly I didn’t think about that. Thank you! That very well may have been the issue. Hopefully later I can do those because it was the best thing I’ve had since surgery but it made me have some pretty rough issues! You're still in the "introduce new foods one at a time and see how it goes" stage. Try again in a few weeks and see if you can handle it. (Maybe bring it home so you have a bathroom handy )
  20. Maybe you're just not ready for that much acidity yet?
  21. Was there sugar in it?
  22. Wow! Congrats! You must be grinning ear-to-ear!
  23. Thanks, I appreciate insight from a successful vet!
  24. Thanks, I'm always happy to learn new things! So, you would never just eat fruit, or just eat veggies? You always pair with protein?
