Oh my God somebody please help!! Trying to cook for my husband and grown children when I am on his liquid pre op diet!! I’m about ready to scream! Why can’t they just try an understand what it is like!!🤬

My Hisband doesn’t want me to have the surgery either, but like I told him I’m doing this for me, my health and my family (including him). I have 4 grandchildren and I want to do whatever I can to be around to be their GeeGee! Now I told him I love you but I love me too!! Believe me I have always been the person who just goes with the flow and not rock the boat to cause an argument, but over the last few years I have found my voice and I’m gonna use it to take care of me!! I learned a few days ago that my surgery will be June 11th. I am scared and excited. I hope it works.

You actually asked many of the same questions I’ve been wondering!! Am I doing the right thing? How will holidays ever be the same (considering I do most of the cooking)? Maybe I should try one more thing before I do the surgery? I also let my head get wrapped around what others are saying: your not that big/ your BM is not high enough/ your not trying hard enough to do it yourself/ it’s all in your head/ you’ll get to little and you’ll look sick/ I love you the way you are/🤦🏻‍♀️[emoji1496]‍♀️[emoji86][emoji31]!! I want to scream look, I am 48/49, 5’4”, HW 243, BM 42.2, HIgh blood pressure, borderline diabetic, sleep apnea, bad knees and lower back pain,and to top it off I can’t bend bend down and tie my own shoe without losing my breath!! HELLO!!!!! My surgery date for gastric bypass is May 18!! I wanted to do the sleeve but with acid reflux disease and my love for sweets the sleeve was not the best option for me!!

Anyone having surgery on May 18th!! My birthday is May 29 so I look at this as a birthday present “To Me/ From Me”!!!

I get doubts when I tell people what I'm doing. It seems everyone has to will there expert opinions onto me. cause they know someone who had it and gained all the weight back.. i am nervous about making weight

I am excited and nervous all at the same time! Have different opinions floating all around from family and friends! Some say you will feel like s new person, others say your crazy, others say your not that big! 🤦🏻‍♀️

I'm sorry you are going through this with your husband. I know I'm 8 weeks post op and I've already noticed a change in my closest relationships. My husband, while nothing like what you are going through, hasn't complimented me once. In fact, he hasn't said ONE word about my progress unless prompted by me. What does that mean? I don't know, but it hurts my feelings. However, he has been supportive by going to the gym with me ect. Maybe I'm overly sensitive.
However, my best friend, has changed 100%. We used to talk on a daily basis. We used to make plans at least once per week. Now, I haven't seen her in going on 3 weeks. Haven't talked to her on the phone in longer. I'm not sure what's going on with her, but something has changed and I just so happed to have surgery. She is overweight and when I got home from the hospital she decided to try some fad diet. It was all she talked about for weeks and weeks. Then overnight completely failed. After she failed, things changed.
My point is not to make this about me, but to say that people change after WLS. Friends, family, spouses. It was something I was warned about in my psych evaluation. I hope you and your husband make amends, if that's what you want.

I agree with previous posters. Do this for you! Not sure if he’s one of the types that gets off on making you feel bad, but if it were me, I’d snap back with “...and you can kiss my ENTIRE baby fat ASS, MOTHER F—R!”

I know it’s not the most wholesome language. However, sometimes you have to JOLT these SOBs out of their comfort zones of saying crap like that.

I wish you the best. Focus on you and your daughter for now, and seek others for your emotional support. It’s not coming from him. He truly may not know how to give it. I don’t know how he was raised or what, but that can have a lot to do with it.

I am scheduled to have gastric bypass in May and I am worried about thinning hair also, I’m also afraid of sagging skin!!

your gonna do great,im telling u expect & prepare for the worst & hopefully u will b pleasantly surprised & have no issues at all.im sorry ur a stomach sleeper.its only for a short time & u will get thru it.
