  16. The one leg at a time was attributed to Football. Some legends say Notre Dame, others say my own Ohio State University. At any rate , the humble retort from the player so addressed. " Yeah Coach, but theirs are a whole bigger than ours!" That's me ,a fount of usless information. Jill of all Trades, mistress of none with no Masters enclosed in . Now my own woman, sink or swim. And alas I could still sink, yeah I am lighter, so more buoyant, but my shoulders are feeling shot. No breast stroke, Australian crawl or even free- styling! Just had surgery. April 4th on Right one, left one had been on the original surgery plans, still hurts with use. He is gonna ask at my 2-week checkup." Well, are you ready for me to do the Left?" The way I feel tonight, right arm aches when I put it in its sling but doesn't feel any better out of it. Can't sleep with my sling on, rides up and nearly chokes me. So I remove it and prop it up on its own soft pillow at sleep time. Okay got it down to a soft ache enough to sleep, things okay until I try turning over while asleep or slide down off my pillows. Then I must drag it behind me like a broken limb Ka'thunk Ka-thumpt and I'm wide awake, Back to the recliner, and it has its own detriments. Last night 3 and a half hours, never get more than 6 and I was always an 8- hour woman. Dr Doolittle is gonna get a " does not play well with others in a gentle manner" I am still pretty miserable 11 days out, not too ready for any more shoulder surgery quite yet. And he really is a very person, good surgeon etc. But surgeon's motto is OPERATIONS ARE GOOD FOR PEOPLE, but not this person and not right now!
  17. Never give up, chatted with a lady who was worried because she was 3 years out, wondered if it benefited her? Reminded her You're still alive, there's a bonus right THERE, when you start out at 300 or 400 pounds all you hear is Doom, Gloom and You're Gonna Die Soon! Are you still hearing this from doctors? No? Good Step! I even had my pastor get on my case, wondered how soon he would have to preach my funeral? Told him put the prayer books and Bible away, I am not plotting my demise in the near future, if anything happens , I'll have my son call YOU!❤ Yeah I too have Thunder Thighs and a Hubba Hubba Heinie, joked I could feed an entire cannibal family off one butt cheek for Easter dinner! As I lose weight, I hardly recognize myself, I used to have pudgy chipmunk cheeks, round-square shaped face, now my face has narrowed out and I am starting to resemble several dead relatives, never saw a likeness before. I think my color is off, live in Ohio so winter pallor, sunshine has yet to kiss my face, of course when it does I will either freckle or it will reactivate my rosacea, the curse of a Celtic ancestry. Its hard to be accused of being a lush ( just because I'm Irish) for my blotchy cheeks and ?. Few attempts I made at alcohol made me only sleepy, if I'm gonna get taken advantage of, might as well stay awake to enjoy it! Yeah, I once might have been as big as the Blarney Stone but inside me resides a leprechaun spirit, don't take a lot serious anymore, I'm more fun at 73 and losing down weight than I was at 30, or even 50-60, I now have hope and that enlivens all the facets of my life. The world had discounted me as fat, worthless, might as well die, well I am proving them wrong, they were looking at a. fat shell, they didn't try to know me, the real me inside. For a while I couldn't visualize any changes in my exterior, thought it was useless. Then I started being able to sit in chairs I used to have my son help pry me out of. I could stand up off of furniture without him holding and yanking me up. I was having better luck having strength to go places, pay my bills, do all those little errands. And clothing that used to split me where I was trying to sit, suddenly I had wiggle room. And those little things kept mounting up. One of my latest, bought an outfit for an upcoming doctor appointment, hung it in the closet, morning of the appointment I started dressing, pulled on the pants and they fell down! Good thing I had saved all the tags. Back they went to get a size smaller. Still didn't believe it totally so I tried the next lower size on! OMG I really was that much smaller, fit better than any others had recently. I had a lot of " well it's close to right, I'll just have to settle for that." All of the sudden I can try clothes on, choose what I really want, not to panic and buy something just because you're afraid they won't get that size again. And it is so blasted cool to have such an option. Now I Am not the Largest size they carry!?Tears of Joy!
  18. Yeah you, Aprilgal, I figured by now the "brand-new" glow is settling into reality, day to day become your mode, and though you're still a little tender, life seems at a slightly off- balance level, things are starting to resolve?
  19. How about Virgil S. Gastrectomy for VSG? Still like all the others too, who am I to rock, the boat, after all I named my pouch Precious although some days Dang You would have been better!

  22. Have trouble finding anythi,g chocolate and Peanut Butter- free. Been allergic to chocolate for 43 years, for some odd reason Precious Pouch regards PB as an adversary, made something for,Tomkitten, had a small amount on my fingers , went to,livk, them clean and PP made me sorry I ever drew breath! Odd, before surgery, PB, Greek yogurt, cottage cheese and bananas, all favorite go- tos before, can't handle them now!
  23. The average American desires instant gratification, but weight loss isn't a smooth sleek ride in a sports car, more like an old jalopy starting , stopping and trying to stay on course. I nearly stalled while on TPN, when it was DC'd I dropped 30 pounds, betcha I never am able to do that again! usually lose between 4-7 pounds a month at 7 months, just watch, since I bragged about it, the Longest Stall in Recorded History next could be mine, hope I didn't jinx myself.
  24. And PS I think I looked like that beanbag chair before surgery, Baby, not only had Back, I had an entire Veranda, still freaky looking and not seeing it anymore!
  25. Hey It Is A Real Thing, sat on wood chair without my special pillow, a half- hour and I was wiggling like a puppy with pinworms, trying to find a comfortable angle to put my throbbing tush in, never did find it, headed for the one chair with padding and springs in the room. Was ready to snarl at anyone who tried to dislodge me from Fluffy and Supportive. Johnnie Cochran could play the " Race Card" well I will play the "Age Card" if necessity raises its head!
