Protein Shakes & Liquid Vitamins
I like the Whey protein drink Chocolate is the best. Mix it up with 8 ounces of 1% milk or water. I have seen it at Costco. But it is also at Walmarts in the Pharmacy along where the vitamins and slim fast is. It comes in a big gallon container. If you have to drink weight loss drink. Try Kirkland brand instead of Slim Fast. Kirland brand cost less. I was told by the Nurse who works in my surgeon's office.

Seminar - not so excited now
I went to the seminar and I know they are not all the same. But the Dr's who did them in Boise Idaho were great. It was Dr. Robert Cahn and Dr. Anderson. Very imformative. Such a great question and answer period. He answered questions for about an 1 afterwards. Even people went up to them afterwards.

food lover, scared of failure
I have been banded for about 6 weeks. It gives you a new excitement. Or at least it has been for me. Once you start loosing it is great. I have a state of mind. Is this really worth eating or is it more important to lose weight. Congragulations Michigan for being approved. Remember everyone here is to support you and your decision. When I get discouraged I come here and read some ot the posts.

Diabetes Neuropathy anyone?
I can tell you I have Diabetic Neuropathy in my hands and leg from my knees down to my toes. Mine has not improved with the surgery. I am hoping that it will with time. I am not off of any of my medication. My Dr. wont take me off of anything until I reach at least 120 lbs. So I guess I will have to wait. Although my blood Sugars have improved in the last 5 weeks since my surgery.

Type 2s off of insulin/medication?
Hi my name is Sharon, I had my surgery on March 17, 2008. I am monitoring my blood sugars quite often since my Lap Band. I have been put on a sliding scale of Novolog, and 25 units of Lantus. I do believe I will be off my insulin soon. I am also on Metformin and 2 different b/p meds, Cholesterol meds. So I am fairly new with the insulin going down. Blood Sugars have been running great since I have had the surgery. Before my surgery I was running in 400/500. Just an accident waiting to happen. So glad I feel better.
-

Would It Kill Me....
I came back to the section I wanted to reread my post. It sounded right I wanted to make sure I was not trying to give the rest of you advice. I am not doing that. I believe when I put my experience it is truely my experience which would not pertain to anyone. I love this sight because I read the posts and learn things from it. Then I try to ask questions. Information from everyone is knowledge to me. Thanks all of you for the information.
