  1. When I get onto the mushie stage, what foods are considered mushie???
  2. What type of chinese food can you tolerate? I love the appetizers, will I be able to eat them after I can start on "real food"?
  3. Bitteroldhag, Would you mind posting your recipe for the thin crust pizza you make? I would love to try it!
  4. I'm so sorry to hear you aren't feeling well. I hope you get better soon.
  5. I've been to the other board too many, many times. I seem to like this one better because when I post I usually get a response ASAP! Everyone is so willing to help everyone else out-it's a joy and a relief! My thanks to everyone who has helped me out on this site! I appreciate all of you!!!
  6. Does that Phenegran make you stop throwing up?? I think I need to get some of that in my house!
  7. That scares me too! Especially since I'm only 8 days post-op. Why are you taking anti-nausua meds? Is it because you thought you were coming down with a bug?
  8. I'm on my 8th day of post-op. Which included protein drinks, jello, applesauce, watered down oatmeal, cottage cheese etc. I'm a very picky eater and I decided to make some watered down instant potato to a cream of wheat consistency...very thin!!! Do you think that would cause a problem with the band?
  9. I found some B12 dots that seem to be very similar on www.a1nutritionproducts.com . They charge 9.95 for 250 tablets or $5 for 100 tab.
  10. Virginia, I will try those whey liquid Proteins. I looked into it and I'm going to buy some. I'll get some B12 as well. Thanks for the tips! By the way, what flavor liquid Protein do you buy?
  11. I'm interested in buying an unflavored protein powder. I just about gag on every protein shake. Can anyone recommend a good powder? Does the unflavored powder have any type of taste or smell when it's mixed with something whatsoever???? I need something that doesn't alter the taste.
  12. How long does it normally take for food to pass through the pouch into the larger part of the stomach?
  13. It's hard to follow the doctors orders when you are hungry. I'm on my 8th day of post-op and I'm going crazy. I'm suppose to be on a modified liquid diet for 3 weeks. Which includes protein shakes, jello, yogurt, cottage cheese, watered down oatmeal etc. I found I needed something this morning or I was going to go crazy. I decided to make some instant potato and I watered it down a bit until it was like a cream of wheat consistency added S&P and butter and I can't believe how good it tasted! I felt the same way after I ate it...what did I do, did I just blow it? But I felt fine afterwards and I'm still full even though I only had about a 1/3 of a cup.
  14. I had that pain in my neck as well. It started in my left shoulder blade, went up to my shoulder and into my neck. Felt like a pinched nerve! It is from the gas pushing on a nerve. I found laying down or laying down on my left side makes the pain go away.
  15. Has anyone ever tried the Whey Liquid Protein? It's a 3 oz. vial of protein and has 42 grams of protein in each one. Wondering If I should get some of those. That way I won't have to drink the nasty shakes.
  16. Thanks Kat! You're the best! It's nice be able to talk to people who have a lot of knowledge in this area! It helps!
  17. When I mixed the Extreme Smoothie shake with the 1/4 cup of vanilla frozen yogurt it is a fairly thin consistency. Sort of like a Dannon yogurt smoothie. Is there a problem with using frozen yogurt on the liquid stage?
  18. Do you think it would be okay to add a 1/4 cup of vanilla frozen yogurt to my protein shake? The shake I'm drinking is a bit sweet and I need to add something to it. I'm only on my second week of the post-op diet. I'm drinking the chocolate VHT Extreme Smoothie and they are a bit sweet.
  19. No, I'm certainly not getting all my protein in. I'm probably only getting 30 grams of protein in. I feel as though my body isn't getting enough calories or nourishment!
  20. Hi John, I'm on my 2nd week of the post-op diet. It's killing me! I have the hungry horrors! Did you make the full 3 weeks of having liquids??? How are you doing on eating "real" food? Any problems?? Sherri
  21. I'm just starting my 2nd post-op week. I feel exhausted and no energy. I walk around the house a couple of times and I'm tired and need to sit. Is this normal? When does the energy come back?
  22. Can you take any soup and blend it, chicken noodle and blend it all and then eat it? I can have modified liquids which includes creamed soups. I've just had chicken broth and cream of tomato.
  23. Alright, I'm going crazy!!! I'm one week post-op and I need some food...mushies will do!! I can't take anymore soup, broth or jello!! Has anyone started a small amount of mushies such as mashed potato or squash the second week of post-op??
  24. I'm still having shoulder/neck pain, had surgery on Monday the 19th. If I'm laying down in bed it doesn't hurt a bit. If I'm sitting in a chair, it's VERY painful like I pinched a nerve. Once it starts to hurt I can't get rid of the pain. Does this sound like it could be from the surgery or something entirely different???
  25. Hello, I'm from Plymouth and I was just banded on Monday the 19th at Beth Israel in Boston. Sherri
