  1. I had my surgery on March 19th and I had my first fill last Wednesday. Like everyone else, I feel like I can still eat quite a bit. I find that I have to eat slowly or it backs up on me though. So I guess I have some restriction. I just wish I would get fuller quicker!! That annoys me!
  2. I got my first fill yesterday. I had some mashed potato today and an hour later my stomach started making strange noises. Are these digestion noises?? The food moving from the upper pouch to the lower stomach??
  3. Is anyone else having a problem with the chat room? I've noticed that it hasn't been working since the overhaul of the website. Hope this will be fixed soon, I love the chat feature!
  4. I got my first fill today and I'm feeling just fine but I'm hungry because I haven't eaten since this morning. My doctors instructions was to stay on liquids for 3-4 days. I find this is a bit much. Has anyone eaten after a fill? Could I have at least something soft like mashed potato??? I'm starving and I have that horrible headache that goes along with being way tooo hungry!!!
  5. I'm hoping to get my first fill today. Should I not eat or drink for a certain amount of hours before a fill???
  6. HI Maureen, Who is your doctor at BIDMC? Mine is Dr.Jones. I was suppose to have my gallbladder removed back in March but I decided against it. I have gallstones but I have never had a problem with them. I didn't want to have two surgeries. I figured if I end up having a problem with the stones, I'll get it out at that time. Sherri
  7. HI, Just curious as to how much weight you fellow March '07 bandsters have lost. I was banded on March 19th. Originally lost 22 lbs but I've gained back 5 lbs. Can't wait for my first fill which isn't until another 2 weeks. Feel like I have no restriction at all! I can eat anything at all with no problems. Need a fill and fast! Sherri
  8. I'm 4 weeks out and don't get my first fill for another month! I'm eating everything in sight. I just had 3 cookies! Of course I inhaled them and took them while nobody was looking. Why is it food tastes better when you sneak it? I feel like I'm going back to my old pre-banded ways. I'm so afraid of gaining back the weight I already lost but I feel like I have no will power. So depressing!!
  9. That's great John! You must be excited!! I can't wait for my first fill which until another month!! Oh the horror!! I need a fill and fast! Sherri
  10. Eloo, I'm with you! I don't have any restriction and feel like I can eat anything I want and eat large bites! I eat very fast too and it drives me crazy! I've lost 20 lbs. and I'm afraid I'm going to gain it all back! I need a fill and quick!
  11. I still don't have a problem with having to chew a lot. So far I can still chew as normally as I did before surgery. I'm sure that will change once I get my first fill !!
  12. I'm nervous to try the pizza because I don't want it to get stuck! Like Jubjub, I can eat hamburger meat and chicken no problem. I have had roast beef & ham lunch meat with no problems either. I've really wanted pasta but don't dare and won't try bread either.
  13. Carmel, I've lost 22 lbs. so far. I'm sort of stuck at the moment. I need to start exercising which is always a problem for me! It's hard to get the motivation. I haven't had a problem eating any foods yet. Everything seems to go down very well. I really don't have much restriction. How about you?
  14. I'm 3 1/2 weeks post-op. My family is having pizza tonight. Do you think I could handle a thin crust slice of pizza? I've been able to tolerate crackers and the 100 calorie pack cookies. Could I handle pizza?
  15. I wish it only took me 40 minutes to get to BI, it takes me two long agonizing hours!! I hate the drive. This weather is driving me crazy!! I can't remember the last time I saw the sun! Is there such a thing?
  16. Eloo, I'm 3 weeks post-op and I feel like I can eat anything and feel no restriction either. It's a horrible feeling! I want to feel full after I eat a little bit but that's not happening. I don't get my first fill for another month. I hope I don't gain the 20 lbs. I've already lost. Will power isn't a strong suit for me!
  17. I had a catheter so I never knew I was peeing but I was! Once they took it out I had no problem at all.
  18. Susan, I found it extremly difficult to cook for my family! In fact, I couldn't even sit down with them at the table while they ate! I bought a lot of things that I didn't like that I knew they would so it didn't bother me as much. I'm not much of an italian eater so I bought them ravioli and tortilini which they love. Plus t.v. dinners helped as well. My DH did a lot of the cooking thank goodness!
  19. Does anyone know a good website to print out a food log? I need to start keeping track of my protein intake and I would like a nice log to write down my daily food choices.
  20. HI Mary, I've lived in Plymouth for 11 years. I've never been to N.Easton before. How long does it take you to get to BI?
  21. I had called Kelly Boyer and she said it was fine especially since I wasn't eating anything else because I'm a picky eater. Since I started the pre-op diet on March 5th, I've lost 23 lbs. My BMI has already gone from 41 to 38. It was nice when Kelly said that as of right now I wouldn't qualify for lapband surgery since my BMI has gone down!! That was nice to hear! Sherri
  22. I added the potato in about 10 days after surgery. You will need to make them runny at first, almost like a cream of wheat consistency and then as you get use to them you can slowly make them a little thicker.
  23. Hi Mary, I added in mashed potato to my diet. I started out with plain, runny instant potato. Once I knew I could tolerate that I bought the flavored instant potato (garlic & cheese and herb & butter). Those were good. After a while I couldn't stand the instant so I started making real potato. It was a nice change. I had a 1/2 cup for lunch and a 1/2 cup for dinner along with my Protein. Where are you from Mary? I'm from Plymouth. Sherri
  24. I'm now 3 weeks post-op and have finally progressed to stage 4 of my diet. Which includes tuna, chicken salad, lean meats & deli meats, canned fruits, cooked veggies, eggs, crackers etc. For lunch I had 2 tbls of chicken salad on 4 low fat wheat thins and for dinner I had a 2oz. meatball in tomato sauce. I'M IN HEAVEN!!! :clap2:
  25. Hmmm, well this is certainly a mystery! I hope you are able to figure this out!
