SleevedSoulSistah got a reaction from angyplus5 in February 2018 Success Stories
Sleeved on 2/28 last day of February, first day after surgery was rough as hell. But each day has gotten better. My first post op appointment is on Thursday can’t wait to graduate from Clear Liquids to full liquids. Thankfully haven’t experienced any hunger yet.

SleevedSoulSistah got a reaction from Jrob66 in When do sleevers go back to work?
I’m a code enforcement officer so I do a combination of field work and desk work not to mention driving to different sites. My doctor recommended 3 weeks off and that’s exactly what I took. It also helped that I was on puréed foods by the time I returned to work don’t think I would have be able to accomplish much while on liquids.< br>

Hi All,
Hoping to join up with you as I'm a February sleever.

Has definitely been a roller coaster ride and I know there's more coming my way, but I stand by my decision to do this and have an opportunity to truly LIVE my life from here on out. Today was my first day back to work (took 4 weeks off) and it went well, but my tummy is sore from sitting upright fully clothed for eight hours. It's probably not appropriate to wear pajamas to work is it?

Rough day today.... need some advice.... I keep juggling from 243 to 245. This is so annoying and frustrating I know stalls last but I just was hoping more progress yesterday I only drank Water and kept my meals small no more than 400 Cals tops yesterday. I am just discouraged I feel like I am doing something wrong. I am cleared to work out so I am going to work out today by the way for those of you that don’t like to work out or don’t know how to work out. Check out resistance bands on Amazon they are a great cardio muscle work out and it doesn’t really feel like a work out. I am sore today but feel great physically. Mentally I am in the gutter. Ugh!!! Anyone having stalls?

I CAN FINALLY HAVE pureed FOODS! My NUT emphasized that all foods must be put through a blender or a food processor for two weeks. So when I google search for "pureed" foods I get "mashed with a fork till soft", oh well.
I just made a pot of autumn carrot and sweet potato Soup following this recipe and replacing the butter with coconut oil: https://www.onceuponachef.com/recipes/autumn-carrot-and-sweet-potato-soup.html
I also squeezed a lemon after it was done and added some smoked spanish paprika.
AND IT IS TO DIE FOR. I had 4 tablespoons though and got completely full. Did NOT experience this with yogurt or other liquids. Wow.

11 days post op. Still on liquid diet and walking 4+ miles per day. Lost 8 pounds and have been at the same weight for the last 3 days. I didn’t expect to stall this quickly.
Also, everything smells so good but other than smell I have no craving to eat any of it.

Well good news is, I've felt much better the last two days, almost normal. I'm out in the real world for an out of state work event this week. I was super anxious about going, I wasn't sure how I would hold up.
I'm LOVING my sleeve. These past two days I've had all this amazing food available to me. I'm not hungry, so that has helped making smart choices easier (egg white omelette vs. hash browns at the Breakfast buffet). Last night I was at a set dinner, 8 course meal. I had a couple of bites out of about 1/2 of the courses, and I was FULL. I've also apparently lost my taste for alcohol, at least for now. I've let a beer and 2 cocktails go warm and half finished after nursing them. And nothing seems to bother my sleeve. I've had lots of different Proteins the last couple of days, and everything has gone fine. I've stayed away from any straight carbs or veggies/salad. Fibrous or raw veggies are the only thing that scare me.
The only bad thing is my small portions and lack of alcohol consumption are super obvious to my boss, whom I'm with all week, I've had to invent a story about digestive issues. He's mostly just upset he's lost his drinking buddy.

Hi all, I am Gerry from Edinburgh, Scotland.
Just finally got my date through for my first consultation with the bariatric team, 18 months after being referred by my family Doc.
Excited and scared Sh*tless in equal measure to be starting out on this journey, but I am only 38 years old, with type 2 diabetes and High blood pressure, so hopefully this will be the first step in improving and prolonging my life.

I have my first appointment on March 20th. I was shaking when I got off the phone with the drs office. I'm nervous and excited. I have to do the six month prep work before getting approved, but I'm prepared to do whatever is necessary. I've lost weight (up to 135lbs) several times in the past but I feel like I need to add this to my set of "tools" to lose and keep it off. I have two young boys and I want to be around and active for them. My mom was severely overweight while I was growing up and has chronic, drastic medical issues nowadays... I do not want to make my husband and kids go through the same thing me and my dad and brother did. They deserve a present, available, and active mommy.

I have been lurking for about 2 months and this is my first post.
37 y/o married mom of 2 and ready change my life.
I found a surgeon, I am cash pay, so things are moving as fast or slow as I want them to. I had my initial consultation and was in shock for about a month before I decided to get my but in gear and get all of my pre testing done. I had my psych eval done Friday, my cardiology/stress test yesterday, and the upper GI this morning. I just have to schedule my blood work and then get this show on the road.
Excited to share my journey with all of you.

Oh wow. WTH!! I never heard of this card. Well, I was allowed to purchase from the kid's menu because I was adorable. Applebees and Red Lobster waiters/waitress would allow me and I would just give them a side tip. I did not care. Then they would ask questions for their family members and I would answer every one of them.

I have the card. My surgeon gave it to me. Most places I tell them I had bariatric surgery and they are very nice and let me order off the kids menu. Other places ask for the card and then are very nice about working with me. I really enjoy eating out with my spouse.
We went to a Mongolian bbq and they don't let you take anything home but with my card they let me take my meal home.

I was sleeved on 12/27 and my pace is pretty similar. You are fine. I was a little bummed about the scale numbers but my measurements and clothes sizes are doing wonderfully. Also my cholesterol is down enough to stop taking my statin, my blood sugar is normal again, my resting heart rate is in the low 70s instead of 90s.
Look at ALL your victories and stop looking only at that scale. The scale will follow.
