We don't eat out very often and it's rarely fast food any more, but I'm a planner. So when we do, I have a list that I go to for emergencies so I can quickly know what to order at a particular place--that way I'm not tempted by looking at the menu:
    Chickafila
Grilled nuggets + fruit cup (split with Mr. F)
Egg white grill (bunless) + add sliced tomatoes on the side
    Grilled chicken club (bunless)
    Iced Tea unsweetened
    *******
    Wendy's
Value Menu: Grilled Chicken Wrap xtra lettuce, no tortilla
Value Menu: JR. Bacon Cheeseburger (bunless; no ketchup or mayo)
Southwest Avocado Chicken Sandwich (bunless) made with grilled chicken
    Small Wendy's Chili
    *******
    McDonald's
    Egg White Delight (bunless)
Bacon Egg cheese Biscuit (bunless) - if you prefer omelet texture to poached egg
Pico Guacamole with Artisan Grilled Chicken Sandwish (bunless)
Happy Meal with Cheeseburger (bunless; no ketchup) + apple slices + small iced tea instead of milk
    *******
    TacoBell
Chicken Soft Taco (eat the filling only)
Steak Soft Taco (eat the filling only)
    Refried Beans/Cheese
    ********
    Whataburger
Chicken Fajita Taco (eat the filling only)
    Grilled Chicken Melt (bunless)
Justaburger with Cheese - kids burger (bunless; no ketchup) add lettuce Tomato and onion with extra lettuce for wrapping burger or with Apple Slices
    *********
    Carl's Jr
Steak and Egg Breakfast Taco (eat the filling only)
Grilled Chicken Bacon Egg and Cheese Breakfast Biscuit (bunless)
Low Carb Char Grilled Chicken Club in a Lettuce Wrap
Any Burger in a Lettuce Wrap rather than bun
    *********
Any BBQ Place: smoked turkey and green Beans
Any Mexican Place: fish tacos, grilled chicken soft tacos without tortillas; lots of fish; sub grilled veggies or avocado slices for rice/beans sides
Any Italian Place: any grilled fish/shrimp/chicken or veggie entree without Pasta on a bed of sauteed spinach or veggies
    Any pizza Place:
    Eat toppings off the pizza
    Crustless Pizza Bowls
Salads with grilled chicken or antipasti meats/cheeses. Vinaigrette dressings check no sugar added.

Actually if you are completely keto-adapted you have no need of carbs. Reference the Inuits who eat nothing but Protein and fat year-round (in their native environment before McDonalds marched in probably) - there was even a doctor who lived with them 11 years eating what they ate and was completely normal.
You mention protein to repair the muscles - yes, protein is needed, and fat is needed for fuel. There is no need for glucose if you consume adequate fat.
    http://www.amazon.com/Art-Science-Low-Carbohydrate-Performance/dp/0983490716/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1434031729&sr=8-2&keywords=phinney+and+volek
The authors of the above book say "low carb" rather than "no carb" b/c in our world, realistically we aren't going to avoid every single carb.
If you avoid ALL processed foods, and potatoes, corn and peas, you can probably eat most of the other fruit and vegetable carbs on a limited basis.
However, I suspect the OP is actually just having the typical 3 week post-op stall. She doesn't say when her surgery was, but the amount of weight loss makes me suspect that.
Also if she is fairly early post-op and eating even small amounts of crackers and bread, she's probably not getting all her protein in.

To each their own, in this. I can say this ive had crabs from edamame crackers made with some rice flour, a few with hummus is fine, or i found some great chickpea chips with some homemade salsa rocks, but again if i eat to many, i stall , carbs are the enemy unfortunately. I had a bite of a piece of toast last weekend, and realized afterward that it was simply a waste. You have to find that healthy mid-line for yourself, how many carbs you need vs how many you take in.
On an average day i manage to keep my carbs under 10 grams. on a bad day i can go as high as 30. But i try to get my carbs from veggies if possible. Even if its a starchy veg, i limit how much, So i might have two tablespoons of mashed potato say, or a spoonful of sweet potatoes. but only maybe once a week.

I have my 5 week check up on the 9th and have met the goal I needed to reach of 286, I am a waitress so I get most of my exercise right now at work walking and lifting trays, I will get my go ahead to start the fun stuff!! Through my Dr. I get 1 year free membership to a nice gym! Eating has been hit or miss for me. I am trying to just remind myself to focus on my Vitamins, Water and Protein for now slowly introducing new foods. I have experienced my first “dumping” and let me tell u WHAT!! uh no way buddy will I take ONE bite of a general tso chicken again! I took one small bite of a piece of chicken from my husbands dinner nd literally 5 mins of me swallowing that sucker I was violently ill. All I can say is 3 flushes later I was LITERALLY 4 pounds lighter! How are the rest of ya doing? Give me some ideas for food at this stage?

Hello everyone! I hope everyone is doing well! I'm amazed how good I feel, I did have a flare up of my Fibromyalgia this past Sunday I was feeling so good I forgot not to push myself. I'm feeling better now other than my arthritis. I go for my two weeks follow up this Thursday, I'm assuming my doctor will move me to the puree stage, I haven't had any issue with the shakes but I also have not experienced and hunger sensation. The smell of some food makes me want to have a bite, I was cooking bacon for my family and started crying, it was super weird but I was warned that may happen. Also good commercials advertising food bothers me a bit too. So far I've lost 20lbs since the day of my surgery.

It has been 3 weeks since my bypass surgery. I lost about 40 pounds since the date of my surgery. I find it weird that after 3 week I'm barely hungry. I sometimes eat 1-2 per day. Today I ate a small bowl of about 3-4 oz of oatmeal and I ate about 80% then at night I had some Soup. I would like to know from others if they are going through the same thing as i am? Those who had the surgery more than 3 weeks ago did your get hungrier each week or it just stayed the same.

Also I'm looking at what I want to eat, has anyone tried eating cauliflower rice or quinoa? which one should I eat and which one states better? Do you think I should be able to eat it even though it only been 3 weeks since my surgery?

    Hi everybody!
I am new here. I am Jess but also go by Chandni. I am 38 years young, live in Germany and have been overweight since I was 5 years young. I am pre-OP. A week ago I had my first chat with the Adipositas center at our MIC clinic.
A bad time to start because due to the holidays I couldn't start on getting any of the paperwork started lol
Well, up until a few days ago I wasn't even sure if I'd do it, and actually I still half expect to run out when time comes. I am terribly scared of not waking up after surgery, or if so just to say goodbye. Phobia of death makes decisions like that super hard. But on the other hand... Decades more of life and a better life than now is super tempting.
So at least I'm getting started now and then take it day by day. Hope to get to know you guys in the process. [emoji1]

This is a pretty fun topic
    1. I still haven't lost my sweet tooth, I just keep it to small bites.
    2. I am still having a hard time adjusting my portion size to the reality of the size of my stomach. My dog is the beneficiary of So Much Wasted food. And he keeps me from overeating. I feel guilty about 'wasting' food, but if I'm feeding him, it's not wasted right?
    3. Every day I struggle to make the right choices, but I do weigh myself daily and accept the responsibility that any uptick is the direct result of a poor choice the day before (even if that is not true, it's my delusion and I'm sticking to it.)
    4. Part of the issue is that in 5 months I have yet to experience a full on episode of 'dumping syndrome.' I think I've had very mild/partial reactions to heavy carb/sweets, but nothing like what I was expecting. I have to rely entirely on my own willpower to make the right choices.
    5. I struggle with Water content, Protein content, and getting enough exercise. I know that I don't want to be someone who regains all of my weight and I try to be mindful that this weight loss experience won't last forever.

34 pounds in two months is 17 pounds a month...which is an absolutely terrific loss.
Stalls happen. Just keep steady on your plan, add a little exercise and don't sweat it. The scale will start moving again. I promise.

Im not sure if your asking me but i can answer. Just make sure to always eat small eat to a comfortable state. Im a little past my 12 months out and i can say some days this is my struggle that my mind just wants to eat more but of course i dont because i dont want to get sick. Drink all your Water and Vitamins. Try to stay away from sugar as much as you can because it only triggers you to want to have a bite of bad food or deserts i should say. Im sure you hear this all the time but always eat your Protein first. Oh and btw ive been lazy not working out only walking and dancing once in a while. So because of not actually doing a more strengthening workout routine im super weak so this year that will be my focus. Hope this helps! Good luck with your journey!

    Hello friends,
Thought it was time to share.
I am 21 lbs away from my doctor's goal for me of 175 lbs, although I might want to set another goal if I reach his goal.
My surgery date was 11-14-16, so almost 14 months ago.
My high weight 10-1-16 was 334 lbs. I now weigh 195 lbs, so I have lost a total of 139 lbs.
It really is hard for me to believe. Getting the surgery was the best decision I could have ever made.

I have the same issues. I hardly eat at all, drink very little, take in no Protein and no Vitamins. I do have several medical issues going on but I would definitely keep in contact with your nutritionist. There is also a new yogurt out packed full of protein. Best of Luck.

Stalls are inevitable. Hang in there. To get my liquids and my Protein in I'll drink 1 to 2 premier Protein shakes a day. U can get them at costco and Walmart. Each shake has 30g of Protein and its 11oz of liquid. Crystal light has also helped me get in more liquids when I'm just not feeling like plain Water. To keep motivated use one of those apps on your phone that lets you put your before and after pics side by side. That way u can see how far Uve come. 65 lbs is a lot to be proud of!! Keep it up! I know u can do it!!
