Losing Insurance Used For Sleeve
You'd have to check your specific UHC policy. Bariatrics are usually an "add-on" to the policies that employers choose to allow for their employees or not.

Quest Bars
Can I just take a minute to rave about Quest Bars? Cause I LOOOVE Quest Bars. I know, I know, not everyone shares my affection - some don’t care for the taste, or maybe they don’t dig the texture. 20 grams of protein? Yes please! 15 grams of fiber? Yes please! CHOCOLATE?! Hell yes! If you haven’t given Quest Bars a try, what are you waiting for? *hint* take them out of the wrapper and warm in the microwave for 10 seconds- HEAVEN!

Kind of staples used at BariatricPal Hospital MX?
I'm not sure anyone actually working in surgery at the hospital monitors these forums to be able to answer your question. Is there a reason you're concerned about the stapler brand?

Only lost 4 lbs in 6 days on pre op diet
Sounds like you did fine. You could be retaining water too, effecting the scale.

reasons for insurance to deny?
My coordinator told me that a lot of denials are based on the verbiage in the medical records and missing information. If you have a good bariatric coordinator that knows what the insurance companies are looking for then you probably don't need to worry.

Lost my restriction?
Is what you're eating considered a slider food? I can eat my Halo Top ice cream and never feel the same restriction I do with more solid foods like lean meats and vegetables. I have to measure it out because if I eat it straight from the pint I will finish the whole thing off. You can't rely solely on the size of your pouch to lose and keep the weight off. Too many 'bad' foods are things that slide through. You need to make sure you are making the lifestyle change and eating healthy, wholesome food.

- No wine/alcohol for one year?
Most surgeons want you to obtain from alcohol but it will vary. I've seen 3 months, 6 months, a year.... There isn't a hard and fast rule of one year no alcohol.- Weight-loss funnies
- Does Walmart rotisserie chicken have too much sodium?
Sodium is usually measured in milligrams, not grams. I don't know if it was entered incorrectly on MyFitnessPal or a simple mistake when you typed it out. 47mg isn't too bad but 47g would be a salt block! But thats not the reason I commented. I looked up the question with a Google search and the result I found is 620mg in 3oz of chicken. https://www.fatsecret.com/calories-nutrition/wal-mart/rotisserie-chicken- I'm so frustrated with my GI doctor
What a pain in the ass! I'd complain to the office manager and tell them how much time and money has been wasted since he can't write a simple clearance letter. Let them know they lost you as a future patient and you'll be telling everyone you know what a horrible experience you had with them. Trust me, in the medical field PATIENT SATISFACTION can be a very big deal. Throw a big a fit to the right people at that clinic and you do have a chance of getting the paperwork you need from them.- Seeet cravings!!
Glad you found a good substitute. I've endulged in pints of Halo Top and other high protein, low sugar ice creams (some also have decent fiber content). They certainly don't taste as good as real ice cream but I figure if I stick with it after a while it will be the new normal.- Hi!
wow! Coming up soon! Good luck, I hope you do great!- Hi!

- Hair loss & Biotin when did you start taking it?
I started taking it preop trying to make my hair as healthy as possible before fall out would happen. It didn't help too much. My hair still fell out. I also hear that its possible to take too much biotin and that can cause hair loss. So just make sure that there isnt already a good amount in your multivitamin before you supplement.- Cheated a little...
Cheating at this stage puts you at risk for staple line leaks. Just keep that in mind. Your surgeon isn't trying to be mean telling you not to eat chicken, he's trying to keep you from having serious life threatening complications. The apple juice won't cause this kind of complication but another one much later on - regain. You have to watch out for and avoid liquid calories and apple juice and other fruit juices are huge ones. Don't kid yourself into thinking they're healthy because they're "fruit" - they are pure sugar and not healthy at all. - Weight-loss funnies
