Where am I going wrong?
I think there are a lot of different people out there getting weight loss surgery and handling it in different ways. When I started by journey I was here on BariatricPal and several "support groups" on Facebook. The sheer amount of enabling on the support groups was unbelievable to me! People telling each other it was fine to eat whatever you wanted in moderation. Encouraging to cheat on the pre op liquid diet and sometimes even post op diets. Anyone that tried to say "no, don't eat that, it has too much sugar, make a better choice" was labeled Food Police and bullied. I had to leave and this is the only place I've stuck around because I don't see that here. I see people genuinely helping each other, not enabling the bad decisions that lead to WLS in the first place. My point is, I truly believe those people, the ones with the "you can eat whatever you want in moderation" mindset, the ones saying "I'm eating ice cream and cheeseburgers and still losing weight, I must be doing something right!", they are the ones that will end up not losing the weight they want and regaining it back. That is the 25% over the 25 BMI group of people. Stick to the path you're on. Make the permanent lifestyle change from unhealthy foods. From the look of your food diary you are doing great and I have no doubt that you will exceed the 'average' weight loss.

Weight-loss funnies
- Hanging skin
Yep. Its different for all of us and I'm sure it comes down to age and genetics. My friend and I were just talking about how I've lost more weight than she did (both by pounds and percentage) and yet I don't seem to have as much sagging skin as she does. It's pure luck on my part.- CHI Franciscan experiences
Keep pestering them! Ask to speak to a manager. Tell them that their staff are not following up on what they specifically said they'd be doing, which is staying in contact with you. Be assertive and make several calls if you have to. At the very least they'll stop giving people the expectation that they'll communicate with them in a timely manner.- Measurements and hunger post op?
Liquids pass through pretty quickly, and I can't imagine you drinking enough to cause the kind of pressure that would result in damaging your staple line and causing a leak. How quickly are you getting that 10oz in? Are you chugging it or sipping it over 30 minutes? When you move on to more solid food it is absolutely imperative that you stick to the volume amounts set by your surgeon. That won't move through as quickly and damage could occur. But also you want to get used to that amount so you don't overeat your calorie limits. After you're completely healed, this ability to drink a lot will come to your advantage in summertime and in situations where dehydration is a risk.- Confessional - Lets post our cheats/confessions/etc so others can see that we are all human
My family and I just spent the afternoon at the movies. We skipped the soda but got a large popcorn and refilled it. I certainty had my share of it!- Weight-loss funnies

*groan* I don't know if I can give up my protein bars. They are such a good source of protein, fiber, and they help tame my craving for sweets!- So Who do You Look Like?
When I was blonde for a whileI always thought I looked a bit like Kelly Clarkson -- a fatter version anyway. Now I'm thinner than Kelly. She's still a lot more glamorous than I am though.- Anyone lose an internal staple?
DONT PANIC. I'm a surgical nurse and see all sorts of surgeries that use staplers. It is totally normal for loose staples to have been left in abdominal cavity. I'll explain. Lets say your doctor is using a 60mm stapler. And he makes his way across the stomach and gets to the end where his last bit of stomach to staple across is only 30mm. He fires the stapler and 30mm of staples are in your staple line and the other 30mm worth of staples have to go somewhere right? They fall out of the stapler into the abdominal cavity. Usually the surgeons at the end of the case will put a bunch of saline in and suction it back out, getting as many of those staples out as they can. But not all of them. They don't have a count of how many loose staples are there and arent going to spend any amount of time picking out every single one. Especially when they know they won't cause any harm. So even though there was a loose staple that made it's way down to your ovaries, it's VERY UNLIKELY it came from your staple line.- A side effect of the weight I had.
This is a great idea. Also here is my insight - guess what days I'm more likely to overeat or eat unhealthy foods? My days off work. When I'm at work I pack my health portions of food and that's what I have to eat. When I'm at home on the weekends or other days off I'm much more likely to grab a handle of Cheerios from the pantry or I'm tempted to eat out and get into more calories than I should really have. So that can be another positive to getting back to work.- Buying clothe
Donated. Some to shelters, some to my nieces that are in college and gained the "freshman fifteen" and were shopping at thrift shops anyways.- my gassy experiment
I haven't thought about dairy. Most of my dairy intake is the Premier protein I use as coffee creamer, yogurt, and cheese. Unless there is dairy in protein bars too? I'll have to give that a try.- I didn't realize when I lost weight that _____

Guys, I could use some help. I've been so gassy lately its unbelievable. I need it to stop. I started taking a probiotic a couple weeks ago. Aside from a couple days of making my gas strong enough to kill a rhino it hasn't helped. I was taking Beano before meals, even the ones that didn't have typical gas causing foods and that didn't seem to help. Finally I stopped drinking coffee this week. For 3 days in a row I had zero coffee and I woke up this morning and was still tooting away. Ive run out of ideas. Anyone have any advice??- Getting better with my exercises
That's great news! Proud of you for making the commitment to get healthy!- Lime ?
You should be fine to add lime to your water. Your stomach produces acid much stronger than lime juice.- Liquid diet and headaches :(
Do any of the liquids youre drinking have sugar in them? If they are all completely sugar free you are likely going through sugar detox and headaches are a common symptom. The headaches should go away in a couple days or you can add a little sugar back into your diet.- I didn't realize when I lost weight that _____
I thought of another one today! My armpits used to be fleshy and easy to shave. Now they're all concave and I struggle to get all the hair with the razor!- I didn't realize when I lost weight that _____
