  1. oooOOhhh! I'll have to look for that! What Brand?
  2. Agreed. My surgeon doesn't offer lap band anymore either.
  3. This sounds good! I'd probably throw some lean ground turkey in to up the protein content and appease my carnivorous family!
  4. This early out I wouldn't even call it a stall. Your body is still recovering from surgery. Just be patient, its a process.
  5. I'm also 9 months out. I've been holding steady at my weight for about 3 weeks now.
  6. My mom came for the surgery and helped take care of my daughters so my husband didn't have to take 3 days off work while I was in the hospital. But once she got me home I didn't need assistance and she left early with my blessing.
  7. Some days I feel like I could, just because I struggle with eating meats slowly enough. My preferred source of protein is from dairy.
  8. I only met mine at the preoperative class I was required to take. She does come to the monthly bariatric support group too but I don't see her on a one to one basis.
  9. All the chewables I tried were nasty. I was taking ProCare Now capsules - you only need 1 and if I take it at bedtime with a small snack the nausea is minimal. I'm about out of ProCare and I'm switching to Bariatric Pal One because of the better pricing. I take my chewy calciums at breakfast lunch and dinner.
  10. Dont do it. As soon as you let something back into your diet, it becomes easier to allow yourself to eat it again the next time. There are a lot of things I wish I hadn't let back into my diet "that one time"
  11. I had a really weird one come up last week. I've never had large breasts and like many, they shrank with the weight loss. My bra size before was 40B. Up to this point I've just purchased Tshirt bras at Walmart that come in small medium large sizing. I decided I needed a nice padded, pushup bra to fill out my dress for a wedding coming up this weekend so I headed to Victoria's Secret and requested a measuring. She measured me at 32D. 32D. D cup. Whaaaaaat?? I barely have a handful there, how the hell am I a D cup? She explained that when the band size gets smaller that the cup sizes change. I'm still having trouble wrapping my head around that kind of "bra math".
  12. I did! First thing I did when I was cleared to puree I went to eat Indian food. They only thing to keep in mind is that you can't drink while you eat so you may need to keep the spice level down to where you can tolerate it without water.
  13. Yes. You just had surgery. You are likely to be retaining water from getting IV fluids and your body just doesn't even know what's going on. You'll probably see a drop on the scale soon but at 3 or 4 weeks you'll see another stall. My advice is to stay off the scale and focus on your fluid and protein intake. You have to hit your goals no matter what the numbers on the scale are so that can be a distraction.
  14. Preop I took Flintstones just to get in the habit of taking a multivitamin. I was also taking a very basic calcium and biotin supplement. Find a good biotin shampoo as well as a dry shampoo for your hair. I use the dry shampoo to get me in-between washings, as it seemed like when I washed my hair I would lose more of it so I tried to go longer between washing. The dry shampoo also helps give it more volume. As far as I know no one has found the solution to the hair loss thing. I'm sure a lot of people like Bariatic Advantage and Bariatric Fusion for their multivitamins but my preference are the one a day options like ProCare Now and I just recently ordered BariatricPal One. I take the multi at night right before bed because of the nausea it causes and then I take my calcium chews at breakfast, lunch, and with my afternoon snack or dinner.
  15. rice cakes and PB2 make a wonderful sweet treat
  16. I keep a bag of Quest chips in the panty - they are expensive so they are my "emergency only" chips.
  17. I remember seeing a lot of postop regret for people in the first several weeks after surgery. But ultimately when you get used to this new way of eating and see the changes for the better happening in your health that feeling of regret should go away.
  18. I haven't used my air fryer for this yet! I need to try it!
  19. There is a whole range of choices when changing your lifestyle varying from bad to good, better and best. Most days I'm at my best, occasionally I'm bad struggling for just one good choice. Here are some of my Good Better Bests, what are yours?? Bad - Having a whole candy bar Good - Having a single Hershey's miniature Better - Having a chocolate protein bar Best - Having NO chocolate _______________ Bad - spending the evening on the couch Good - cleaning or other projects around the house Better - brisk 45 minute walk around the neighborhood Best - break a sweat with a real cardio workout
  20. Oh my! Id have a hard time wanting to return every month if I knew I had to put up with a personality like that! Maybe they need a pit orchestra like at the Oscars when the speeches get too long winded! But more likely the NP needs to discreetly talk to her.
  21. Insurance usually has their own set of requirements. Usually 3-6 months of medically supervised weight loss. Then its up to your surgeon on when to fit you into their schedule. Once I completed my supervised weight loss and was submitted to insurance I still had to wait 2 months to get on the schedule.
  22. Sorry hun, I'm just a little confused. You said you had your surgery 2 months ago but list the date as April 21? I'm guessing you meant March 21? Either way, stalls can be normal. Make sure you are tracking your protein and calorie intake. You are still early in your journey and this takes time. You still have months to go in your honeymoon phase so at this point I wouldn't stress the stall.
  23. I would try to get it done between the Europe trip and Hawaii trip. That way you can enjoy those once in a lifetime food options in Italy, but then you start to lose weight and get skinnier by the time you're in swimwear in paradise!
