    Take the first steps TODAY!!!!
load up your favorite music into your phone, put on your sneakers and get outside! Walk to the car, walk past the car, walk to a neighbors house, walk past a neighbors house and find the next goal...
This surgery isn’t a miracle but rather a tool, set small goals daily and achieve them once you start knocking them out, one day turns to 7 and 7 turns into 30 and 30 turns into 6 months and 6 months turns into a year!

The only one that can stop your actions is yourself, I think about eating crap daily but I choose not to give in fill your stomach with energy not comfort and remove yourself from the temptation. When your hungry do not watch TV the god damn food commercials only make it worse, drink your fluids, put on a movie go wash the car, go clean around the house do something productive just DONT GIVE IN!

I hope you find the help that you need in something new other than food, find a hobby/passion you can focus on and it will make you a better person. This is a daily battle don’t think of it as anything else set your goals and let’s do this as failure cannot be an option, you know what that feels like and it SUCKS so don’t be afraid of succeeding what do you have to lose if you try?

Ok here is my ranty two cents... Deep Breath~
I agree, right after of surgery, you cannot consume enough calories to support a high level workout. .no gym.
At low calories you can support walking for exercise. After surgery, walking is instructed by surgeons for the healing process. After you heal from surgery, You will be released to goto the gym..
His points on when can you goto the gym I don't agree with.
    (1) is your head straight?
according to his credentials off his website (link below). He has no educational background in psychology.
    http://www.lovelace.com/duc-vuong-md
I disagree with his statement that the gym is a distraction from dealing with your mental headspace, It is where I processed my moms death..And yes, I lost weight. The gym is a great place to process life's issues as you listen to music or self help books. It's replacement for that stress emotional eating.
I question why he doesn't promote making the gym a healthy habit and counseling/therapy at the same time? He says the gym is a distraction from working on your issues....Is therapy a distaction on working on your health? Both can be done concurrently.
therapist/counselors want you to exercise to help with depression/mental issues. He contradicts this..I'm not sure why?
    (2) Don't go to the gym if your head is not seeing your weight loss correctly?
According to him I should have never stepped in a gym for a year. My weight loss was rapid. There is no way to look at myself correctly when I changed physically month to month,... I had to wait until goal to see myself correctly. My mind needed to catch up with the weight loss.

    (3) he says don't go to the gym expecting weight loss. The statement should have been: dont go to the gym expecting weight loss if you eat a crappy diet. Weight Loss is 70% kitchen 30% gym.

Again, just my opinion..I'm no expert

It will get better. Day 4-7 were horrible. Once you move to soft stage it will get better. Hunger started to decrease and my energy and confidence went up. Good luck!

You are looking great! You are your own warrior! You got this, keep up the good work! I am not going to lie and say it gets easier, prior to last month I didn't 'get hungry' and now I get that feeling so I had to be careful before, with alarms for medication and food, and now less food alarms and more exercise alarms.

Hi there - you look great!

I was feeling ok, but I’m day 5 now and I’ve woken up feeling sick due to to hunger. I know it’s a hunger kind of pain... or not eating enough. Did you go through this stage? Will it pass soon? Thanks.

What others have said, you have to shrink your liver. If your liver is too swollen the surgeon could abort the procedure out of safety concerns. I am sure you do not want that. Stay focused, stay strong, keep motivated, focus on the goal. I had to remind myself that I had eaten enough pizza, fast food and China buffets to last a lifetime. Had to get it together before my surgery.
