You have time. Go on the post op liquid diet (clear liquids) and remember to get 70 grams of protein daily. It worked for me. Don't forget to exercise. It will make your recovery much easier.
Hi! 61 year one grammy. 5 days post-op, feeling good. Soreness is about 2.5 out 10. I am retired 8 years ago and now work for my local church. I am in the chemical dependency field as a OCPS II (Ohio Certified Prevention Specialist II).
Question: What should I expect after the first 'fill'? Any pain or discomfort?

Be encouraged. Prepare your body physically for the surgery by doing daily walks, 1800 calorie or less and two weeks post-op a full liquid diet. It will really help for a speedy recovery.
I was banded on April 14 at Mt Carmel, West. All went well. Yes, the fees are normal (I checked with other sites/persons). My frustration was the time it took to reach my band date. I had all my clearances completed by August 1 but the insurance denied me twice. Finally got approval on January 4.
I am a born again, blood washed Christian. I had my Lap Band surgery on April 14 and had the saints praying for the anointing of the surgeons, nurses and technicans. All went well. Just very sore, like doing 20 sit ups for the very first time. Be blessed.
This is a great site for the new sixties. My surgery date is April 14 and I am excited. It took 1 year for all the clearances. Will check in often.

I am a 61 year old grandmother pumped up about my surgery. Surgery April 14. Anyone older than me that got banded? Just wondering, how did it go for you?
