  1. Welcome Natasha. You will find this to be a great forum - good information and friendly folks. I was banded on April 14 and have lost 38 pounds (pre/post op). To date, I had no problems with the hband.
  2. I am yet holding on (My Grandmother used to say that). Preparing for our family reunion in Nashville this weekend. I am doing pretty good; weight lost averages 1 pound a week. Joined the seniors aerobics class 4 weeks ago - love it.
  3. There is a great thread on this site under 'food and nutrition' written by Stickey (I think). Good luck
  4. You are right - I hate, hate being called sweetie. I am 62 years old and find it offensive.
  5. I was banded April 14 after 10 months on going back and forth with the adm staff there. It was a struggle not to 'go off' on them for their nonresponsive attitude but I got through it. Just got a patient survey in the mail this week and will express my disappointment. On the other hand, the docs were GREAT!
  6. Welcome, Honey. This is a great forum.
  7. Thank God for new beginnings. Great post!
  8. PTL! I am with the Church of God, a holiness church. There is a Christian thread on this forum. Great folks! Check it out. Be blessed.
  9. I was apprehensive before the surgery but it went so well for me. No PBing, vomiting, etc. Some gas but nothing I haven't experienced before. I am a lot older than you and doing well. Hope things work out well for you.
  10. Yes, I understand how you feel. About 6 weeks post-op, I joined a senior chair aerobics group and those seniors really work it. I am into my 4 week with them 3x a week and loving it. Just start slow and after a while it will become a habit.
  11. I couldn't do the baby foods either. Did the soups and protein drinks. Good luck to you. The shoulder pain will go away.
  12. Sorry to hear about your experience. Praying that you have a full recovery.
  13. I can relate to this. I, too, was banded on 4/14 and lost 35 lbs (pre and post op). However, for the last 2 weeks - nothing. I am older than you and have joined an seniors aerobics class that meets 3x weekly. I walk 3 miles daily. I have dropped inches and not lbs but it will show up on the scales. Keep up the good work.
  14. I am wearing my 'big' clothes now and honestly, I need to go shopping. Suggest you look into consignment shops or find out if there is a 'clothes swap group' in your area. Good luck.
  15. Yeah, you overdid it. Take at least 5 to 10 days off before returning to work. It will help with your healing process.
  16. Yes, that makes sense. Talk to your surgeon's office. Continue to use this site - it has tons of information.
  17. I like Unjury shakes. You buy them on line.
  18. It depends on the person. I lost 32 pounds and dropped 2 dress sizes, from a 24 to 20.
  19. It depends - some folks 5 -10 pounds. Check with your doctor. Be encourage it will work out.
  20. Check with your primary physican. After loosing 25 lbs, my BP dropped and my doc took me off of all BP meds. She said another 25 lbs and no diabetes meds. I am looking forward to less meds.
  21. You go girl! Congrats
  22. I have a AP large band and received 4 cc at my first fill. Feel great. Just right. Each person has a different experience.
  23. Thanks for the info. I had my first fill yesterday - 4 cc in a AP large. The nurse said that the 4 added to 2 already in made it 6 cc. I feel pretty good, not too tight.
