  1. I had the chemically induced - it was not bad. Good luck.
  2. Be patient - the energy will come. It took be 2 full weeks to regain energy. Now, 7 weeks post-op I feel GREAT!
  3. God is a good God. Congrats!
  4. Sorry meant Unjury Protein - it's online.
  5. Great! Try Unjur Protein - very good especially vanilla and strawberry.
  6. I was banded at 8:30 am on April 14 and remained in the hospital 26 hours which is routine. Up to walk every 3-4 hours and had Clear liquids. If you vomited or had a fever, I was told they would not discharge me. Everything went well. The gas is HORRIBLE for the first 2 weeks post-op but it goes away particulary the more you walk it off. Good luck
  7. Congrats! It took me 10 months for clearances and approvals. Yes, the insurance denied me at first. But I was filled on April 14. One of the best decisions I ever made.
  8. Please share your recipes.
  9. Thank you, thank you. Ordered one today.
  10. Yes, I was needed for the same reason. Appeal the decision and ask your primary physican and surgeon to help you. Once they received the complete 6 month diet history, I was approved. Took 7 days. Be encouraged.
  11. Aetna is NOT customer friendly regarding bariatric approvals. Aetna denied my request in December 2007 and the Lap Band surgeons had to call Aetna's medical director to ask them to reconsider. One week later I was approved. I was approved Jan 4 and banded April 14. Be encouraged.
  12. NDwife, congrats! Yours went smoothly. It took me 10 months to get approval. It was the physican 6 month diet notes that was the hold up. I was banded April 14 and everything is good. No problems.
  13. Jack, I totally agree with you regarding willsmommy. I didn't want to eat and only did clear liquids for 1 week and full liquids for 3 weeks. I just started the mushies. I am taking it slow and it is paying off. Lost 25 pounds. 10 pounds pre-op and 15 pounds post-op. Banded Apr 14
  14. Hi everybody. Somebody asked me this question: How long can you have a band - 2 years, 5 years? Anyone know? Thanks.
  15. That occurred to me about 2 weeks post-op with a 25 weight lost. My BP was 90/50 for 4 mornings. I called my primary and she said to discontinue Norvasc. I saw her last week for a follow-up and BP is normal. She said with another 25 pound weight lost, I should be able to discontinue the diabetes oral meds. Great! Grammy in Columbus
  16. Welcome. I was banded on April 14 and have lost a total of 25 pounds including the pre and post op diet. Yes, you can have Pasta and rice at about 4 weeks post op. Bread, I don't know when that occurs. Follow your doctor/nutiritionist's instructions - it makes life a lot better. There is a thread on food and nutrition that is great. Be blessed. Grammy in Columbus
  17. Have a great time in Florida!
  18. I am down to a 1X in some things! God is good. Grammy in Columbus
  19. Welcome. There is alot of good information here, I had my surgery April 14 Grammy in Columbus
  20. Special K: Judy (Dr. Price's nurse) called tonight and I am scheduled for my first fill on Tuesday, May 27. Can't wait! Should I bring someone with me? Grammy in Columbus
  21. lynlynkr - My surgery was Apr 14. I took 7 work days off and felt fine. Good luck. Grammy in Columbus
  22. Thanks for a quick reply. Grammy in Columbus
  23. I lost 12 pounds since my Apr 14 surgery date. Everyone is different. Be encourage and remember the Band is tool for weight lost. The weight lost will come. Grammy in Columbus
  24. Special K - I saw Dr. Price on May 2 for my post op. All is well. Weight lost is 12 pounds in 2.5 weeks. He said that Dr. Choban will take it from here on out. "Judy" will schedule my first fill. Should I call in a week if I don't hear from anyone? Grammy in Columbus
  25. I was banded on April 14 and in the hospital 26 hours. The pain is probably gas. Except 2-3 weeks before you feel better. Good luck. Grammy in Columbus
