You have time. Go on the post op liquid diet (clear liquids) and remember to get 70 grams of protein daily. It worked for me. Don't forget to exercise. It will make your recovery much easier.

I was just wondering how long you have known that you needed to lose this weight by that date. Crash dieting is not the best thing to do. You need to have strong resolve even after you have the band. It is not magic and unless you change your lifestyle and eating habits you will not lose. It could take months before you feel restriction. Are you ready to do the work? I wish you success.

my pre diet before banding was 2 slimfast optima's for breakfast lunch and dinner I don't care for slimfast so I did carnation instant breakfast no sugar added its hard but it work if you can't do it do it for 2 meals and eat 1 healthy meal no soda no juice water and crystal light

I agree start a liquid diet high protein and start walking for 3 min a day you should be able to do 10lbs by your deadline. GOOD LUCK :tongue_smilie:

My pre op diet was opti fast which I got from my dr. It consisted of 4 high protein shakes, and two high protein soups a day. Weight came off easily. Good luck. YOU CAN DO IT!

The Dr told me I had to loose 5-10lbs before my surgery wich is 05/28/08 but I got a call from the nurse who stated that at my preop apt on 05/27/08 I can not weigh more than 5lb more frm my orginal weigh in which was 02-26-08 and I have gained 5lbs. I am ready to do whatever it takes to be healthy but I thought I had until 05-28-08 to loose by

I lost 5 lbs easily on my pre op diet. I lost close to 15 lbs in 10 days. A lot of people on this site use protein shakes from walmart. My protein shakes have 160 calories and 14 grams of protein. Do you have a herbalife dealer near you? They have good protein shakes and soups. If you follow a liquid diet like so many of us had to you should reach your weight goal without a problem. It is a tough 10 days, but I wasn't hungry. I just wanted to eat!!!!

do you drink pop? if you do stop drinking it...even diet pop...stop snacking...eat only at meal times and watch what you're eating...get into the mindset of what you'll be doing after you get the band...i lost 10 lbs in about 2 weeks by doing only that.
