How'd you know you had an ulcer?
So, I've contacted my Dr's office but they have to give me a call back. While I'm waiting, I'm just curious how you knew you had an ulcer? Did it happen over night or gradually? Out of all the pain I've had, I haven't had any with eating or drinking. I've been able to do both just fine until this morning. Now every sip or bite I take is very painful. Idk if it's an ulcer or something else, so I would love some feedback of other's experience. Thanks!

Bloated & Frustrated
I'm in nearly the same boat, so I understand what you're going through. I'm 14 days post op and I still have a slight pain in my stomach and I walk slow/tire easily too. I'm just hoping by 1 month post op I'll feel normal. It does get a little better every day though. It's hard but try to stay positive. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

Soda!
I'm kind of the opposite as in, I was fine drinking no soda pre op. Now that I'm post op all I crave is a coke with ice and a straw.. [emoji24] Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

MORPHINE MADE ME LIE
Dilaudid was a life saver in the hopsital! I came home with some serious pain. I was barely able to do anything. The pain is muuuuch better today. It starting getting better about 9 days post op. I think what helped the pain was increasing my activity and water intake. I now experience some discomfort and very little pain in my stomach, which is to be expected, I believe.

Just an update! No now sharp lower abdomen pain, thank goodness. I still have discomfort. It feels like I have a tummy ache. Still not getting much sleep either because of the general discomfort. I'm about 85% myself! Which, i'm pretty happy about. I go back to work on the 14th. I hope I'm more myself. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

March-April Rny-ers
9 days post op and down 9lbs! I'm currently still having some gas pain, which stinks. Can't wait for it to be over. I hate being in pain. I've been walking as much as possible, if not every hour then every 2 for at least 10-15 mins. I can't wait to be as far along as some of you are! i'm so sick of protein shakes and this liquid diet. I can't wait until I can have some fruit. That's probably what I crave the most right now.... some nice juicy watermelon.

Pre-op and nervous
I joked around with my family about dying on the table, but that's because we're weird people with a weird sense of humor. I never really feared it though. They gave me some type of drug before they wheeled me into the operating room that made me feel as cool as a cucumber. Idk if that's standard, but hopefully they give you that too!

Colon/gas left side pain
I have gas pains as well and I'm 10 days post op gastric bypass. It sucks and it's painful. The best advice I was given and the only thing that will really help is to walk more.

Almost quit on Day 1 of my pre-op liquid diet
Hey! So, my liquid diet was 30 days long. I was only allowed protein shakes and raw veggies. It suuuucked. I ended up cheating about...4 times. Badly. Like taco bell and fries from McDonald's bad. I did end up losing about 20lbs before surgery though and the last 1 1/2 weeks of my liquid diet I was on my best behavior because i was scared they'd open me up and be unable to preform the surgery. At first I didn't want to tell anyone I cheated because I didn't want anyone to stop believing in me or tell me "you must not be ready for surgery" but honestly, it happens. The moment I'd cheat, I'd pick myself back up and keep going. You got this. If you slip up, it isn't the end of the world. I'm currently 10 days post op and 7lbs down. If you need any encouragement, feel free to reach out to me! Btw, the liquid diet after surgery is literally no better than the liquid diet you're currently on. Maybe that's just me though. Been sipping on liquids as meals for nearly 5 weeks now. *dead*

Lower Abdominal Pain
Thank you very much for sharing! It makes me feel really good to know I'm not alone. You're right! I just have to give my body time. It just stinks when the majority of people felt pretty decent soon after the procedure. You don't have any more gas pain? Do you still wake up in pain?
