Lower Abdominal Pain
The doctor told me it was gas pain... idk how it could be gas pain nearly 9days after surgery. Sigh. I'm starting to feel a little depressed. I just want to feel as close to normal me as possible. I keep telling myself that the pain is temporary. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

Still want another kid...?
Ahh, I see. That's such a tough decision! I say go through with the surgery, meet someone, and then start trying to conceive. At least if you get pregnant by 39-40 you'll be the best you possible!

Lower Abdominal Pain
Hey Everyone, Just wondering if anyone has or is going through the same thing as me. I was bypassed on 4/23 and yet I'm still in pain. Mainly it's my lower abdomen (slightly above my belly button and down) it prevents me from doing more walking and I even walk up in the middle of the night, multiple times because of it. I do still have pain killers that I could take, but I just stick to regular Tylenol. I hate that I'm over a week out and I still feel bad. Healing has sucked so far, but every day it gets better. Besides this. I feel like this awful cramping feeling will never go away! I'll be reaching out to my surgeon soon about it, but just wanted to see if anyone had the same thing and maybe what they did to help with the pain? Thanks!

Still want another kid...?
Hmm... That's tough. I know that by losing more weight you'll be able to conceive better, but by giving yourself a time limit of 3 years to get married and have a baby... that's kind of hard. Do you have a significant other already? What do they think? Would you be able to keep the weight off when you conceive? Otherwise, might be best to wait. Your decision though!

Waking up after sugery
I woke up in severe pain. Hard time breathing and had to be put on oxygen. Could barely walk. Back hurt because of the hospital bed. I felt better when I was home from the hospital 2 days later. I'm a week post op and still in pain. It's different for everyone. No regrets! Definitely 100% take chapstick Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

Everytime someone calls me now they ask so how much weight you lost?
I did the same thing! I told everyone. During my preop diet everyone was on me about my weight loss and 1 week after surgery I've gotten texts about it. I understand they're curious but... dang. I just tell them I try not to weigh myself too frequently. Maybe about one every 2weeks. Which is a lie Haha Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

On full liquid diet.... what are you eating?
I'll have to look into making my own! I'm not eating nearly anything all day, which isn't healthy but everything else is blah... I'm jealous! Can't wait until I can have scrambled eggs! I have like 10 days left of this stuff. Cheating with 1 egg is better than cheating with junk! Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

On full liquid diet.... what are you eating?
Soooo... I hate everything on the full liquid diet. I'm not ever hungry but if I were, nothing tastes good. Any recommendations? Jello, yogurt, pudding and popsicles are too sweet. Cream soups are... yuck. I'm allowed grits which are decent. Taste a little weird after surgery. I hate that my taste buds have changed! I didn't believe anyone when they said it could happen. 6 days post op- still not up to par
Hey guys, I should probably be posting this in the post op forms, however, I think it's important for the pre-op peeps to see! I had surgery on Monday, 4/23 and have been in some pretty bad pain. This post isn't meant to scare anyone, and I'm not saying I regret it. I just think it's important that you're not as naive as me! I went into having surgery literally thinking it would be a walk in the park. Maybe I'd be a little sore, but all around good. Wrong. After surgery, my pulse at rest was high, so they had to do a CT scan. When you get a CT scan they make you drink this nasty liquid. They gave me 30 mins to drink half a cup. It hurt so bad, I was crying and thought I was going to faint. My pulse is still high, but after blood work and the scan, they determined it was just my body reacting to the surgery. My resting heart rate is still around 120. They said it should go down with time. I also have a very sharp pain in my lungs, they had to put me on oxygen for two days because I wasn't getting enough. I don't remember too much because I was all high on pain killers but the way my surgeon explained it is that a small tube in my lungs collapsed, and although it can be relatively normal, I need to work on taking deep breaths in order to pop the tube back open.If I don't work on my breathing I could get phenomena. My breathing has gotten better but even walking to the bathroom, I'm out of breath and takes A LONG TIME for me to catch it. Speaking of walking, that hurts too. In fact, everything hurts. My neck, back, shoulder, stomach... I feel like I took a relatively healthy (no co-morbidity issues) body and bang it pretty good. Before surgery I weighted 311lbs, after surgery I was so swollen and retaining fluid that I was 320lbs. I'm currently 310lbs. I'm never hungry, ALWAYS thirsty. I miss taking big gulps of liquid. The only thing I crave is coke! A big glass of coke with ice and a straw sounds amazing. I hope everyone has a better recovery than me. Just know that it may not be a walk in the park (although, I certainly hope it is!) Can't wait to be fully recovered!

Tattoo before surgery?
I can't seem to find any answers online but I'd love to get a tattoo this weekend, however my surgery is on Monday. Does anyone know if it's safe ti get a tattoo before surgery? I don't see how they could be correlated, but... rather be safe than sorry! Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app
