Beards
Guys, have you noticed your beards growing a lot slower post-op? I used to get the 5 o'clock shadow very quickly. Now I can almost go a day without shaving. I heard of people losing head hair but that isn't a problem for me because I've been bald since I was 25. I am just amused that my goatee grows back really slowly now, same with the rest of my face.

Here you guys what I look like so far
Smart move. If after 5 minutes more you feel like you can rock it, keep going. Again, listen to your body. Sent from my Z981 using BariatricPal mobile app

Be safe and smart about it. Gradual increases. Remember, if you make it unpleasant, you won't want to return. The key is comfort and enjoyment. Sent from my Z981 using BariatricPal mobile app

Help! Stuck in a rut!
There are plenty of people that do workout that frequently. The key is to do it smart and safe and listen to your body. I am going to do this under a physician and physical therapist's guidance. We're not meant to be sedentary and everything I read about confirms this.

Help! Stuck in a rut!
Only head to the gym if you physically feel like it. The key is for the initial gym experience to be a pleasant and comfortable. This is the angle that I am taking. I'll push myself a little bit further down the road.

Help! Stuck in a rut!
No such a time was specified. I know that the program wanted me to be exercising as soon as I got home from the hospital but I was feeling really sh1tty until last Sunday when I finally started feeling like myself. I finally felt like I wanted and desired physical activity yesterday. I hope this trend continues. The first 4 weeks post-op were absolute hell for me, probably worse than the pre-op liquid diet.

Please don't be disappointed
Nope, she sure won't be. A 75 pound difference on a person is marked. She will notice and probably be super proud of you.

Help! Stuck in a rut!
That's a good way to go about it. I am aiming to make LA Fitness a 7 day a week adventure. IT's going to be a daily habit.

Liquid diet
Premiere Protein shakes are fantastic! They have 30g of protein and are low in carbs and sugar. My program swears by them and I agree. They taste really good too.

Help! Stuck in a rut!
If you choose to step up your game, just don't overdo it and make yourself feel miserable. I have to keep reminding myself that Rome wasn't built in a day and to keep my expectations and goals reasonable.

Help! Stuck in a rut!
I was shocked that today I managed 30 minutes. I spaced out and finally looked down and the clock read 28 minutes. Two more and I got off. Doubled the goal!

Liquid diet
Don't sweat it if you don't make it because it is the long term result that ultimately matters. I would love 80 lbs at my 3 month post-op, but any kind of progress is perfectly okay. :-D

Liquid diet
Day-um! 27 pounds pre-op is pretty phenomenal. I only lost 10. :-( Oh wellz, I am making up for it now. Minus two pounds overnight from the exercise alone.

Beware Corn on the Cob
Thank you for the warning. I am SO looking forward to fresh, boiled corn on the cob. It's one of my favorites.

Feeling devastated
Wow, I am very sorry to hear this! They should grandfather you in under the old policy because you've met the requirements. This might even become a legal matter if they deny you. You could sue them.

Constipation Issues
Yep, the best thing is taking Colace. It is very gentle on the stomach and works in about 1-2 days. My surgeon said I could take it both in the morning and at night.

Emotional roller coaster after weight loss
I have some understanding because the first 4 weeks post-op were hell for me. I had RNY on March 12 and it wasn't until last Monday, April 9th, that I began to start feeling like myself again. I felt quick to anger/impatience and there were times when I would just break down and cry. It took a little medical detective work, but between my doctors, we figured out that I wasn't absorbing the anti-depressant effectively. The psychiatrist changed the form of my medicine to a salt-tab style which just dissolves under the tongue. Then I realized I was mistakenly eating some deli meat and cheese thinking that it would count as pureed. My stomach revolted and I had no idea why. Once I learned that mistake and started eating "allowed" pureed food, well I instantly started feeling better.
