  1. I am so glad that I am not the only one. I was banded June 8th and just found out I was pregnant. We were shocked because we had gone through fertility treatments to have our daughter. Then we adopted our son after 7 more years of fertility treatments and miscarriages. After losing 75 lbs, it looks like things judt happen.
  2. I went though the 2 1/2 hour visit with them back in April 2008. They have all people there to clear you for the surgery. I found that very helpful, so I was not running around seeing each person individually. However, in the long run, I didn't chose to go through them. Dr. Bhoyrul assisted my dr with surgery back in June. Couldn't ask for a better outcome.
  3. The pain that I had was not that bad. I had no drains. I felt pretty good after a week. I am so thankful that I did it. It was scary but I have never been more happy.
  4. When I had my reduction done, it took Tri-care 48 hours to approve it. It was very fast. I had no problems with Tricare until I wanted to get lap-band but then all it took was an appeal>
  5. Cool. I am glad that we are finally getting this going. Wednesday's after 9:15 work for me. I live in Terrisanta area.
  6. I am willing to help and attend. I live in San Diego.
  7. I had often wondered the same thing. well, I can now say with absolute certainty that YOU WILL KNOW when it happens. It happened to me this morning when I went it a mindless world of reading email while eating breakfast. I am guessing that I was eating to fast and not chewing because I was so focused on what I was reaading. That WILL NEVER happen again> The pain was horrible. I ended up voimting before it got any better. Lesson learned: WATCH WHAT YOU ARE EATING!!!!
  8. I have been having the same thing. I was banded about a week ago. Hopefully, someone has suggestions for us
  9. I was banded on June 8th. My weight that day was 277lbs. On Friday, 6/12 my weight was 269.
  10. I am having mine done by them on June 8th. So far I have been very pleased with them.
  11. Okay. I was denied on 3/5/09 because my Doctor didn't send in all the information, so they denied it. I appealled on 3/13/09 with over 15 pages of documents that showed I did meet the criteria. My docotr talked to the appeal people after 3 days of trying to get their information last week, only to be told that they had 60 days and if they want they will take all 60 days. That they can call after 5/15/09 to get the results. Has anyone had it take this long? I am afraid they are going to come up with some reason not to approve it and that I will have to start the appeal over again. Any ideas to help pass the time? thanks jen
  12. You need to appeal. The last poster is right that they are deny lots of people right now especially if you are borderline. I am 106 pounds over with hypertension, arthritis, sleep apnea, depression and Crohn's disease and I was deny last week. I just resent my appeal in yesterday and right now it says that it is pending review. I sent in 15 pages of documentations along with letters from all my doctors' stating this surgery was needed. Plus I gathered information on how much it was costing them monthly for me to remain on the medication. I was successfully able to prove that they spend over $40,000.00 a year just on my medciation. Send in a appeal. Show them that you are serious.:scared2:
