    "LAST SUPPER"

In n out! Double double and animal style fries, regretted not getting a vanilla milkshake with it LOL. I also didn't have a pre-op diet, just clear liquids the day before my surgery. Sent from my SM-G930T using BariatricPal mobile app

    Ppi

Anyone whose taken a ppi post surgery, how long did you take it for? I'm 5 weeks post op and have been taking a ppi daily. I haven't had a chance to refill my prescription so I've gone without for the past two days and now I'm suffering from heartburn. [emoji21] Obviously going to get the refill done now lol, but is this a temporary side effect or something I will need to get used to? Sent from my SM-G930T using BariatricPal mobile app
  3. Just curious, during your puree food stage did you make sure to puree everything by a blender or did you just puree by mouth by chewing really well? Sent from my SM-G930T using BariatricPal mobile app

    Gurgling

Yess! I'm definitely having food aversion for food I'm not even eating. The smell of certain things make me nauseas.. especially the smell of protein drinks! [emoji13][emoji13] I'm three weeks out and my appetite is pretty much non existent now. I try to drink my two protein drinks a day and keep up my water intake.. plus at least one meal of creamed soup... but I feel like it's way too much. It's literally a chore to eat now, I have to remind myself to drink something. It's really hard for me to keep up during the day with my liquids. I'm starting purees this week so maybe I will have more motivation to eat but I know it will probably still be difficult to get all my liquids in. The struggle is real lol. Eating solids

This is my doctors nutrition plan post surgery: Phase 1 thin liquids: 1 week Phase 2 thick liquids: 2 weeks Phase 3 purees: 2 weeks Phase 4 soft foods: 2 weeks So basically I have almost 6 weeks post surgery before I can eat regular solids again. [emoji21][emoji21] My plan seems to be fairly strict compared to others, but every doctor is different. I would follow the plan that was given to you by your doctor. 6. Is it just me or do protein shakes dry your lips out?? It's driving me nuts! Every single time I drink one of my shakes I feel like I have crust left on my lips. Sent from my SM-G930T using BariatricPal mobile app

    Help!

I felt hungry for about 2 weeks after surgery. It sucked but drinking my liquids did help take away the hunger pangs for a bit. I had cravings, especially smelling food and watching other people eat lol, but now I dont get cravings as often. Now almost 3 weeks out I don't feel hungry at all. I have virtually no appetite. I'm on my phase 2 right now and have had oatmeal and creamed soup but I can only eat like 4 bites before I feel full. Im moving into purees next week but the last few days I've really only drank water and protein shakes to get through the day. I actually need to remind myself to eat lol. I did have cravings for fruit a few days ago and "cheated" a bit and had some watermelon and a cutie. But I literally just chewed it to get the juices and I spit out all the pulp. I dont reccomend doing that but it did help my cravings. I also have these Outshine fruit popsicles that are only 25 calories that are pretty sweet so that may help take away your sweet tooth. Otherwise the only thing you can do is just power through it. Like someone else mentioned, one thing that really kept me from eating was reminding myself I could harm myself and my healing process by eating real food too soon. So keep your goal in mind and just take it day by day, or even hour by hour if you need to lol. This is only temporary. [emoji123] Sent from my SM-G930T using BariatricPal mobile app

    Need Liquid Diet Ideas

I've read on some other posts that Target has a good selection of cream soups, but I haven't bought any. I actually just make my own soup, and tweak the recipe a bit of I need to. My go to is Pinterest to find some good soup recipes! I usually search for healthy or paleo/low carb soup recipes. Most aren't necessarily 'creamed' but that's easily fixed by throwing it in the blender and straining it lol. I also really like Skinnytaste recipes because hers are usually low carbs/ low cals and are pretty tasty! Sent from my SM-G930T using BariatricPal mobile app

    Mommys/ Breastfeeders post-op?

Yes I do! Haven't worn my baby yet since surgery though because I wasn't sure how it would be with the incisions healing but I may start wearing her again now that I am almost pain free. My breasts are finally starting to feel full again and I am feeding as often as I can, admittedly not enough during the day still. But nonetheless my supply is there! I know I need to continue pumping get to where I was before but I absolutely hate it! I did discuss with my doctor concerns about calorie intake affecting milk supply but he didn't seem concerned about that. He made it clear though that my water intake would be most important. His main concern was whether or not my milk would be nutritious enough so he reccomended that i supplement at least once a day until I'm on a more substantial diet. I do think the main factor that caused my milk supply to go down was the fact that I was not pumping, I maybe pumped twice a day depending on how engorged I was... So basically I sabotaged myself. First Time Dating... Ever

Also, before my weight loss, I had never dated or hooked up with anyone either. So it was totally uncharted territory for me. I played with online dating for a bit and it was a good confidence booster. But the real fun started when I was going out with friends, going to partys, clubs, bars.... In all honesty, I was a hot mess for a while haha. But I had a lot fun, learned a lot of things, discovered a different side of me and explored a new side of life that was totally foreign. There's really no guide on how to put yourself out there, you just have to do it and see what happens. Sent from my SM-G930T using BariatricPal mobile app

    First Time Dating... Ever

I lost over 100lbs within a year when I was in college, from 300lbs to 190lbs. At 21, all that weight loss gave me a huge boost of confidence, even with my loose skin. It was never a sensitive or embarrassing subject for me to discuss my weightloss, I was proud for having lost weight and wanted to show it off lol. So I had a lot of fun, going out with friends, and hooking up with guys. Ended up in a relationship with my crush (who had known me before my weightloss). And now I'm here, 25 years old, 2 kids, a fiance, and 100+ pounds heavier lol. Anyways, moral of my story is to allow yourself to be confident, feel sexy. You worked hard for your body. Be proud of it. Allow yourself to be open to others and if they happen to ask about your weightloss, be confident in sharing your journey. Most people will see you as an inspiration. Sure, Not everyone is going to respond because some people are just shallow assholes. But guaranteed you'll find someone that will. Good luck! Sent from my SM-G930T using BariatricPal mobile app

    Mommys/ Breastfeeders post-op?

Yes! I know my kids will be so much more happier with a more active, healthy, and energetic mommy! Part of the reason I got the surgery was for them. I was so lethargic and unmotivated due to my weight and I know I needed to make a change for them. I was also constantly binge eating in front of my son and I absolutely do not want him or any of my children to carry on my bad habits. I want to be an inspiration for them and a healthy role model. 13. My loss has slowed down a bit too, now 2.5 weeks post op. Do yourself a favor and hide the scale! Try not to weigh yourself everyday, and instead only weigh yourself once a week, like every Monday. Your weight will naturally fluctuate everyday and even throughout the day so keep your sanity and put it away lol. It's so easy to become obsessed with the scale but the scale won't show you how many inches you lose or the muscle you gain, or just how much healthier your body is in general! 14. Same thing is happening with me! My mind can't process how little I can eat now. I will serve myself 4 tablespoons of cream soup but it ends up being too much and I get full after a few bites. I still think i can eat one more bite or two, and then I end up uncomfortably full. My brain is still thinking I need to eat more because that's logically not enough food. I'm super happy to know that my surgery was a success and I get full off a few bites lol but it's still hard to change my mindset after 10+ years of obssessive overeating. I'm just going to serve myself 2 tablespoons from now on and see how I feel afterwards. Sent from my SM-G930T using BariatricPal mobile app
  15. Sorry to hear of your surgery experience! Must have been very scary for you to go through. But I am glad to hear that you are doing okay now! I wish I could guzzle down the protein shake to get it over with lol, but we all know that won't end well! So over the shakes but I'm with you with the soups. Definite highlight of my day as well. Yesterday I made a cauliflower kale soup blended to death with a dash of cheddar cheese. So yummy. Looking forward to having it again tonight! Next on my recipe list will be healthy baked potato soup. [emoji14] My cravings right now are oddly for non junk food things but when I do get a whiff of fries or pizza, or when I watch other people eat yummy foods, my stomach starts grumbling! Having to practice such extreme self control now will hopefully prepare me for when I can finally eat solids. At that point I should have great self control with food!
