If you haven’t read this book, I highly recommend it. I gives you a lot to think about, tells you how important exercise is, gives you great info & encouragement regarding WLS.

Rainbow_Warrior reacted to yosoyelmaspesao in My gastric sleeve journey
They call me "Biggie" and know me as "yosoyelmaspesao". My weight loss journey started on January 12, 2017. I had to wait 6 months to get my surgery. And in that time I had doubt, fear, worry, that I wouldn't go through with the surgery. But finally, my surgery date came. I was scheduled for July 3, 2017. My surgery came and went because my surgery was canceled. Then more doubt and fear came. And once again I was scheduled for surgery for August 17, 2017 and then rescheduled again for August 21, 2017. But, my surgery was finally done. I was sleeved. At first everything was great. Then slowly the complications started to creep up. First I couldn't hold anything down, then a horrible pain on my side. We come to find out my gallbladder isn't functioning. So, back to the operating room. Mind you I'm a person that had never had surgery prior to the sleeve. But, it was removed and things got better. Right now I'm almost 8 months into my surgery. Do I regret it? Nope. Would I do it again, yes. Even with all the complications, I've dealt with.
This surgery, this tool has given me a second chance at living. It's giving me an opportunity to accomplish goals, to reach milestones. I'm going to only keep moving forward.
Here I my stats:
My Hw was 582LBS, my Sw was 540LBS, and my current weight is 445LBS.

Rainbow_Warrior reacted to walleyecrazy in OCTOBER SLEEVERS CHECK IN HERE
I hit what is a pretty big milestone for me with my weekly weigh in today. I weighed in at 204 which is 95 lost since surgery and 129 overall. The big thing for me though is that at 6’4” tall and 204lbs my BMI is now officially in the “healthy” range. This is the first time since high school that I have been in the healthy range and feels amazing. With that said though I still have a little ways to go before I am where I truly want to be. Hopefully I’ll be there within the next month or so, but until then today’s victory was a huge step in the right direction.

Ditto ... my gastric sleeving was 12th Oct ... so pleased I made this choice.
Life-changing.
I'm still obese but shrinking well ... although it will get harder from this point.
My general medications have gone from 50mg daily to 10mg.
My hypertension (BP) meds are down from 40mg (two 20mg doses) to 2.5mg (one small half-dose) with the prospect of being on nil blood pressure meds by Easter (or not long after)!
This last eight months (17th July to 17th March) has seen me lose nearly 42kg (93 pounds).
My BMI is down from 50+ to low 40s.
I exercise 3.5 to 4.5 hours per day, on at least 28 days per month (since Nov 17th).
My body fat is down from 47.5% to 35.3% thanks to exercise and high Protein diet.
I think so. I wish it were better/faster but I can't be more proud of where I've come from and where I've got to. I may well have cheated an early death with surgical intervention and some personal hard work.
Thanks go to my GP for supporting my decision and encouraging me. He and my wife have backed my every decision for three years.

A fairly common post-op manifestation.
I'm nearly six months post-op and even on a 32C (88F) day, I wear several layers after I leave the pool and gym. Losing two-thirds of my stomach meant I lost my temperature regulation.

Just ask yourself ... "DOES ANYTHING TASTE AS GOOD AS BEING SLIMMER WILL EVENTUALLY FEEL?"
Then repeat the above question again and again ...

About five weeks in my case.
I now have about three to five in any given week as part of a daily calorie allowance of 950-1250 calories.

We're all different and have our own quirks and idiosyncrasies. We have similarities but no two gastric-sleevers are EXACTLY alike.
Your friends probably need to get over this!

Well done to date.
I was one of the outliers on here back in July last year.
I began at 191.8kg (422 pounds) some time back. Despite the fact that Australia went metric 46 years ago, I still like to check my numbers in pounds and stones as well.
Check the RED figure in the table ... I fell under 300 pounds last week.

Yeah, that will be a great day ... hopefully early 2019 for me.
Good luck maintaining your downward trend.

I am 5 weeks post op and have been feeling pretty down. No weight loss for almost two weeks now. And I know it's part of the course, but nonetheless it's hard. I decided to go jogging tonight without my dogs. Sometimes they can be such a distraction. And boy, I am so glad I did. As I put on one of my favorite tunes "Parallel Lines" by Junior Boys, I began running, and running, and running and I didn't stop for 10 whole minutes. I felt SO ALIVE! I haven't felt like that for 5 years. It is a newfound vitality and it felt amazing. I couldn't believe my feet weren't giving out, I couldn't believe my knees didn't start hurting. Even my hips were okay! I felt so much lighter on my feet. I have lost a total of 28 lbs since my pre-op diet, 18 of which were lost after surgery. I can't believe how such a little amount of weight loss has made such a difference in my ability. I'm tearing up right now just thinking about it. I just feel so lucky to have had this surgery and it is making such a HUGE difference SO FAST and sometimes I lose sight of that.
A before pic and me tonight... feeling so great!!!

I have lost 41 lbs since being sleeved 10/13/17. I feel like the loss rate has been sooooo slow and had to overcome a few stalls. I have 25 lbs still to lose to hit my ultimate goal weight. But I have 7 months to lose that weight to make my goal.
I did a face transformation comparison the other day for myself. Needed to see the change to remind myself that even though I feel like the loss is slow, there is still loss.

Yeah, he's right.
You cheated.
You cheated early death ... the extremely high likelihood of a significantly earlier mortality by shrinking yourself and the co-morbidity risks that come with obesity.
You can also exercise another choice ... calculate if he's "on the same page" as you in other aspects of life and relationships. If his commitment to you is less than it should be, excise him sooner rather than later.

I think I would probably not discuss weight loss with him. I would also recommend stopping defending yourself because he isn't getting it. I cannot understand some people. I actually like to cheer people on. It makes me feel better. Maybe it's time to trade your man in for a newer model.
