went and saw the doc today. he drew blood and said that if my white count is too high he is going to admit me. he also said that if i get dehydrated again he is going to admit me. no one knows what this is. a lot of shots in the dark, but so far they are just labelling me as acute tonsilitis. its frustrating. the pain is worse today, and i am just tired. i haven't eatin really anything for the past 4 days. and i have barely had anything to drink. yesterday was a good day drink and broth wise. but today it is back to barely being able to swallow my own spit. so this doc is going to watch me, and decide what to do depending on what my blood panel says. I really appreciate all of the warm wishes I have gotten from you all. I prolly sound like such a baby, but I am glad to have a place like this to bitch and moan. this is hard, and i love all the messages about the prayers that are being said for me. thank you so much. uhc is helping new companies, and renewal companies to write in this policy. they are carefully and slowly backing away from the weight loss surgery game.

since his original post was deleted to some heated debates and words that shouldn't have been said, I wanted to bump this thread so that Big Paul's words of wisdom can be shared once again for anyone who wishes to read them. I know that not everyone will agree with this post, but a lot of people believe in these rules, and believe that this is the way to have a successful banded life. i feel like crap with a capital SH. I went to the doc's office again today, cause the pain pills aren't killing the pain any longer, and I can't swallow again. I went in, and they took blood. they are going to see what they find with that. the guy was kind of a jerk. "i want you to come back and see me next week. We will not do surgery for this cause it does not warrant it. But if your white count is high I am gonna admit you. If you are not better tomorrow I am going to admit you. If you show any signs of dehydration in your blood draw, i am gonna admit you." BUT NO ONE CAN TELL ME WHAT THE HELL I HAVE!!! And they refuse to give me anything that is going to kill the pain. They sent me home with percoset. They gave me morphine in the hospital. This stuff numbs my body and my brain, but it does nothing for my throat. the pain will not go away. ok. i am done bitching. i feel like such a wuss. but this is just killing me.

i'll bring the ice cream, and provide the sprinkler heads, you guys bring the hoses, and we will have a summer party in my backyard. we'll put Rob in a speedo and a apron, and he can bbq us all the most dangerous meats we can come up with. we'll do a whole chew and spit thing for the flavor. but i suggest we just totally put away the ice cream like we were making money doin it. :confused:

get the band done. if the hernia isn't incapacitating, you can get approval for it later, and have it done maybe when you have a bit of a tuck done. :confused:

if you go to a good doc in Mexico they will recommend a few docs in your area to work with on your aftercare if you decide to not go back to them and the surgery. my doc has me set up with a fill doc that is approx 10 minutes away from me. I can afford to go to a doc here in the states, but I prefer going to a doc that has done WAY more surgeries than the ones here in the states. Plus I think it is silly to spend more than you need to if you can spend less and get better care and service. At least this is what I am dealing with locally. the doc i chose in mexico has done over 5000 bands, is one of the early pioneers, works out of an american owned hospital that is like a 5 star resort, and you get to stay at his guest house when not in the hospital. They even pick you up and take you back to the airport. My cost for everything, airfare included, is 9100. much better than paying a doc here who is going to require me to jump through hoops for him to prove that I want the band, even when I am trying to throw 21000 in his face to do it. sorry, i don't need that hassle.

i think this is the solution they used on me in the hospital last night to see if I could get a pill down. They had me gargle with this funky milky light pink solution. they wanted me to swallow it, but i just couldn't. it did help if only for a moment. maybe 15 to 20 minutes. but that might have been cause my pain level was so high. at one point they asked me, on a scale of 1 to 10, ten being the worse, how would you rate your pain level? I sat there, crying, back muscles siezing. I said "7". The woman says, "its ok. you don't have to be strong. this seems like it might be a ten" my husband pipes up and says "you weren't there for the birth of our daughter. There were 5 medical people in the room and they all started laughing, a lot.

yeah, call your doc. if it broke the skin you do not want to take any chances. and if it walked away it could be that it cannot fly. call the daycare and let them know that there is a bat on the grounds. if they can catch it they can test it for rabies and determine if she needs the shots. but i really think you need to call your doc quickly.

the pain pills really make things easy. i have been able to drink chicken broth today, just forcing it past my throat. with the edge taken off of the pain i can really force myself to drink some. i have been getting a little bit of water, and a little bit of broth. about a cup and a half of each. tomorrow i am going to try some pudding. I can't get that down now.

i can get them past my throat while it is numb. but that is the only way. i just took my last antibiotic pill, so they said they wanted to see how that went and see if there was any improvement. we will see. if it does nothing, i am not going to just sit around. i agree that these infections can spread if not caught and corrected quickly. I am not going to just sit around and let my throat rot out.

um...i can deep freeze the ice cream on dry ice. that way if we all meet it will still be cold and yummy. besides, no one here can say that they never ate ice cream soup.

LOL don't be intimidated by their workouts. they are just crazy. LOL I think there is a period of time when the body switches over to burning its fat for energy, and the better food we eat is burned more efficiently. its pretty normal. i went through that a few times when I dieted. mix it with a good walk and you have the recipe to lose weight.

i think the key is to not only look for people who are stable, and have the right answers to all of your questions, but also know them long enough to where you can trust their answers. you need to make sure they are not just blowing smoke up your ass. and you need to not only make sure that financially they have a good foundation, but that it is one you can see living off of and raising a family on. how much do you think it would take to raise a family of four in your home town with a house and school and all of that? 40k? 70k? 120k? it really is up to you, and you really do get to choose. you don't have to settle.

i would love to drive up and meet some folks. we drive to NC all the time. i would also love to take a trip to the biltmore with a group of us. it is DH's and my favorite place ever, and go whenever we can.
