Deegil got a reaction from Oct2017as in Pics - Down 66lbs
I had surgery on 8/16/17. I am currently down 66lbs. I found this dress I wore in my 20's as I was cleaning out my closet and decided to try it on.

I was dizzy and that was due to my BP meds. After adjusting the meds down I was still dizzy. I decided to stop the meds altogether. My BP is fine and I'm no longer dizzy.

When I’ve felt dizzy post-op, it always correlates to dehydration.

Just over 2 weeks post op, and I feel light headed often right when I stand up. I am getting plenty of fluids, and it is not my BP (checked). Still don't know why, but it is definitely related to the surgery.

I have the same problem. For me, it’s definitely fluids. I have to drink well over the recommended amount each day to keep my bp from dropping when I stand after sitting or bending. I’ve also noticed that it’s not always how much I’ve had to drink as it is when I drink... so, for example, I have dizziness more frequently in the morning before I get significant fluids in after “fasting” all night. Same thing if I go for a few hours mid-day without drinking. Once I figured out the correlation between my dizzy spells and my Fluid intake, I was able to manage it.

Has anyone felt dizzy or fainted after having the surgery. I have fainted twice since my surgery. The first time I went to the hospital and they could not find anything. I am wondering if its related to the surgery.

Not be wild with abandon nor a hard case because that never helped prior to this. I try to keep food anxiety from slipping in there. There will be food!!!
I ate mashed potato and could have skipped that, I also tried a a couple bites of cornbread stuffing and a bite of pumpkin pie and coconut cream pie. And dark meat turkey. Nothing drastic.

I stay on track by allowing myself a little of everything on the holiday but staying on track during the rest of the season. It's hard to avoid all the treats around this time of year, especially working in an office, but I remind myself where all those treats and sweets got me and where I want to be (12 pounds from goal today). I also allow myself a little freedom the day of.
So for Thanksgiving I had about 3 oz of turkey and a little spoonful of all the sides (yams, broccoli casserole, squash/cheese, stuffing and homemade cranberry sauce.) I split a slice of homemade corn bread with my son and for dessert, a few hours later, I had a small slice of pumpkin pie with cool whip but I just at the pumpkin part and didn't eat the crust.
Now it's time to stay on track over the next 4 weeks and avoid all the random Christmas treats being thrown around.

Hi All!
Thanksgiving was great. Had the meal with the wife and friends. The food was excellent! I had 3 Oz of white turkey and about a spoonful of 3 or 4 vegetables. I even had about one third of a dinner roll. I took leftovers home and recreated my plate on the scale. It came out to about 7 ounces of food total. Calories were a little high at about 350 but it was a holiday dinner! I did avoid the gravy and creamy vegetables. Went back over for desert 3 hours later. Just had a sliver of pumpkin pie with some Cool Whip. Didn't feel bad I wasn't eating and spent as much time with my plate as the others did. I just didn't go back for seconds! I have to live with my weight loss decision and might as well enjoy it!

I actually tried to eat everything during dinner. I just had a very little of everything. I am 3 months out from surgery so I am able to eat but I want to make sure I don't start cheating on a regular bases. I still need to lose 40lbs. I am already down 60lbs since the surgery. What are you doing to maintain during the holidays?

I never thought I could or would be as successful as everyone I saw on this forum. The first few weeks post op I looked at people posting 100 pound weight-loss thinking if only that could be me! I have to say that it happens so slow and yet so fast! I am one of those people that loses weight every few weeks! 2-3 weeks with our losing weight then a 10 pound weight-loss, it’s so crazy! The biggest thing I take out of this is a new relationship with food that I hope to keep for a lifetime! So excited to see what the next year holds! Good luck to everyone on this journey. I don’t regret it for a second (except not doing it sooner!)
