    I could have written this post! 5'1" starting weight 194 at surgery 8-21-17. Same comorbidities. The weight comes off much slower for us lower start weights. But the measurements are changing and so is the weight! I'm at 157 today. I'm hoping to get between 130-140 as a goal.
    I feel really good and am starting to exercise again, something I wasn't able to do for awhile.

    My high weight was 195, and on the day of surgery I was 180 and 5'2". I had high BP, cholesterol, and pre diabetes. Now, almost 3 months later, I'm at 151, and my goal is around 130. It's definitely been a slow process, but worth it. I was able to stop BP meds and cholesterol by my 6 week follow up. Recovery was easier than expected and I have gone from wearing xl shirts to medium.

    I'm a lightweight too. I've lost 9 lbs in 13 days. But it was 8 lbs in 7 days, and the last lb has been up and down. Overall, I'm happy, but it's hard not to have a smidgen of disappointment.

    Mine is still going strong. This week, I finally put the scale away and have not been weighing myself everyday as I foolishly had been doing. I really expected to see some sort of drop this morning, but nothing. I'm honestly devastated. I'm walking everyday, keeping calories around 800 or less, drinking Water. I started out with a quick 17 pound drop after being sleeved on 8/3 (SW 275, CW 252). I know the 3-week stall is real--how long did it last for you until you started dropping? I'm losing my mind here.

    Thanks for this post! I am 5 days post op and can drink Water with no problems and I am feeling hungry. This thread made me feel much better, like I didn't just have a major operation for nothing. Please keep good thoughts for me!

    I have been amazed at how differently we are all told to manage things by our various surgeons and dietitians. Compared to so many, I feel very fortunate to have had so little difficulty myself. I was sleeved on 8/21 and had a hiatal hernia repaired that I have lived with for 20+ years. The only physical trouble I had while in the hospital was being unable to sleep whatsoever and running a fever for a few hours. Then feeling like I had been hit by a truck on day 3 at home and getting all weepy for two days. I never had any nausea or vomiting but they did plenty in the hospital to head off nausea and it clearly worked for me. Crushing pills was so frustrating for me that when I saw several of you who don't have to do that, I stopped it a few days ago and am doing just fine. I am due to start stage 3 Monday but I feel ready to do it now. Puréed sounds awful but my dietitian told me as long as it's small and I chew it to death I don't have to purée everything. My worst issues have been dragon breath and Constipation along with major arthritis pain because I'm supposed to stay off Mobic and have not had it in a month. I have not felt overfull or any effects from the hernia repair. I saw someone who has been allowed to drink G2 but I was told no on that. I haven't posted weights yet so here goes and I'm not sure about abbreviations so it's:
    highest weight right before 3-month diet-299;
    after that diet- 271;
    surgery weight after liquid diet - 257;
    Currently 248 if my home scale is accurate;
    and I am only 5'2" so I often thought of myself as Short Round from Indiana Jones movie.
    Goal weight - not sure. They tell me ideal is 110, which I cannot imagine in my wildest dreams. I have the attitude that I will know it when I get there. I feel sure that 130 or 140 will feel just fine. I had the surgery because I was diagnosed with NAFLD.

    I am in desperate need of anything resembling real food. I get about 150 g of Protein a day and probably around 100 oz of food. I know some of my hunger is in my head but I would murder newborn puppies for some tuna or scrambled eggs. I can't really find any liquid appropriate foods I enjoy. One week till puree and broth is making me homicidal

    I'm almost two weeks post op and things have been relatively easy so far. Today, all of a sudden, I have awful reflux. All day. Sometimes to the point of some emesis. Tried a gas x strip, but that didn't touch it. Does anyone know of something to relieve this?
    Thank you!

    I am in a stall also that started ~ 10 days post op. However I have been reading that it is next to normal. I gained 2 lbs from my original a weight loss. I worked really hard to push the fluids in my system today. I think that dehydration was part of the problem. I looked in my weight loss manual and there were a few things that were possible reasons for stalls.
    1. Not eating enough Protein
    2. Not drinking enough Fluid
    3. Not taking vitamin/mineral supplements
    4. Natural eating cycles (not sure what this means)
    5. Eating too many foods high in carbohydrates
    6. Not exercising (just walking 30 min. per day at this point)
    See if you are meeting the guidelinesabove. This may help you push past the stall. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

    i was sleeved August 14 and was doing great until day 3/4. i started having diarrhea. Got out my instructions that addressed post op diarrhea and started Immodium per instructions. I became weaker and weaker. Turns out I had developed C. Difficile. I ended up dehydrated and back in the hospital in isolation. I am better now and taking a pretty brutal course of oral antibiotics. I am getting my Protein and fluids in but it is an all consuming job to stay on top of it,
    Don't let the diarrhea get out of control. If you start feeling weak, dry mouth, darkening urine, etc., contact your doctor. You can get dehydrated quickly. I held off too long and it was a miserable several days and I set myself back nutritionally.
    Wishing you the best.

    I too just had my surgery on August 21. I see how most of us can have issues getting all the fluids in. I basically drink all day. I try to sit with my family at dinner to feel normal as well. I am still on all liquids obviously but will be moving to stage 2 tomorrow/Monday. My biggest complaint as of now is basically not knowing when I'm full. My doctor said that that is normal until later in the process because liquids go through us faster. Also diarrhea. I don't care about that so much because my stomach doesn't hurt. Lol. I've had moments where I regret doing this because I am truly a food addict and need to address the mental piece as well but I feel good and am starting to look better. I have lost 14 pounds already so I'm happy.

    Good luck!

    Responding to Kennalb above (not sure if I should do this another way- still learning my way around here and trying to figure out how to crop my picture), my surgery was also 8/21 and if I do like my book seems to say to do, I don't see how I can get in all the liquids and Protein. It says only about 3-4 ounces at meals and an ounce every 15 minutes otherwise. I know I can drink more than an ounce every 15 minutes and feel fine. And when I do the Protein Drink, I don't drink it as slowly as I'm supposed to, and I have felt fine. I have even gone up to 5 ounces and I'm fine. I guess we are just all different. I have quite a headache today but have not had any pain medicine because I was constipated from it. Now that's under control.
    A concern I have is that I'm on a bunch of medication for other health conditions unrelated to the surgery so I have to crush pills, etc. I have a lot of pain unrelated to it. Figuring out how to deal with all that.

    I was sleeved August 21st by Dr Ilan in Mexico and I feel like mine is almost too good. I was in pain when I first woke up but since then I have been walking and no issues. I got home last night and finally feel,all the gas is out from the surgery and general flying. I have not hit my goal with Water yet but I don't have to sip, I can drink normally, my stomach just gurgles a bit. I do have hunger pains, right now I am sating them with broth and Protein water. I got 46 ounces of water and 47 Proteins so far today, went for a nice walk and am feeling great. This makes me think I am broken and it did not take, between the ease of swallowing, the hunger pains, and the lack of pain or issues. Anyone else?

    I'm a little annoyed... I didn't tell a lot of people I was having my surgery. Insurance wouldn't cover it and I was afraid if something happened financially (total cost was $22,800) I'd have to tell everyone I wasn't having it... anyway, I feel like people are expecting me to lose 100lbs within a few weeks. I can tell when they look at me. I'm 11 days post op.... people need to back off and give me time to adapt to this new life!!!

    I just had mine done on the 22nd. I wish my experience was like some of yours. The surgery went well, and I was pretty much out of it the first night, but I was able to get up and walk around once. I have had problems with gas, but that is getting better. Stitches don't hurt that much but the muscles around the stitches hurt whenever I moved. That is getting better too, but still feel like I'm ripping something when I sneeze or cough. Worst part is when I try to drink. It feels like there is a lot of inflammation at the top of my ribs, in the center. Sometimes it feels like really bad indigestion when I try to drink something, even when I do it slowly. Now I did have trouble with reflux before, so that could be it. It's been hard to get down as much as they want you to, but I started the Protein Shakes today and it's been easier to keep down.
    Although I haven't been hungry, it has not affected my love of food so I still see commercials and almost salivate over them. I'll be glad when I get to the mashed foods.

    I regretted the surgery too during my first few months post op. I was pissed off at myself for making this decision. Had a few complications and needed a second surgery. Blah blah blah

    Told my surgeon I regretted having the surgery and he told me he was going to ask me the same question in 3 months.

    He was right. After the weight start falling off in bulk and surgery healed I began to feel awesome. I'd not felt that good in 30+ years. That charged me up and made me stick to the program better than I thought I could.

    Now almost 4 years later I remain at my goal weight after losing 150+ pounds.

    Chin up. Better days are ahead.

    I was sleeved on 8/3. I've hit the three week stall and definitely understand your general frustrations. Yesterday I had anxiety attack out of nowhere. Couldn't breathe, felt like crying. My patience is very thin. The heat is seriously effecting me, and I'm totally weak. Even taking my Vitamins and hitting Protein. I want to get back to exercising but I know I don't have the stamina for much right now . I'm sure it will get better, but wanted to share so you don't feel alone. I guess this hormone thing is for real. Hang in there.
