jenzds75 got a reaction from lillian.b.white in No weight loss weeks 5-9 post op
I also had a revision from Band to DS. I'm 8 week PostOp & I went to my followup appt & only lost 30#. I'm all excited cause I don't know when I've ever lost 30# in a year- let alone 8 weeks! My Dr said that it was good cause it's giving my body to react to the weight loss. I am loosing inches. Just keep up the Water & protein!! Let your body heal & do it's thing! [emoji7]

I have Cigna & they gave me 30 days to have procedure. My surgeon was booked up so it was right at the 30 days!

After the 2oz of the beef stew "soup", I think it was just a lot of gas that I didn't expect! I have been on such a bland diet & then introduced something new with spices. Boy, I sure did some walking, sitting on balance ball, & GasX to try to get the uncomfortable feeling to go away! About an hour later I was relieved from the bloat/pain feelings. [emoji28]

I know that I had a pretty major surgery. I had a revision from Lapband to DS. I'm actually starting to feel "normal". But, I am still having the incision pains or feel like I have to hold myself when I walk. I guess I'm wondering if it's normal.

Haha, glad to hear you are feeling better. This is the first of many experiences that will help you sort out what it feels like to you to be 'full'.

    Hi Everyone,
Hope I can get some suggestions. My surgery was this past Monday, June 12th. Doc says things went perfectly! I had the clear liquid diet for two days post opt and now I am supposed to be on pureed foods for two weeks. I am struggling. I am having to drink more Protein Shakes than I want otherwise I can get even to the 1/2 way goal of 78-90 grams of Protein a day. The Fluid intake - I will have to work up to 100 fl. ounces a day. I am getting to 60 but feel like I'm floating. Good news - type 2 diabetes is unbelievably in control. No meds since surgery and levels are great.

I am doing better, definitely. Hurts when I cough or laugh or when I am standing up from my couch. Tomorrow is day 6 for me, and I am able to sip more liquids than when I had just come home. I cannot wait to be able to eat at least some tuna or ground beef lol! Glad that you are regaining your strength.

Bummer, they didn't give me any Popsicles. Just Water, broth, iced tea, coffee and Protein Shakes. The only thing that I was able to tolerate were the water (if I took the ice out) and the broth, but only the vegetable one.
I have been drinking all morning without trouble so, hopefully, I will be able to go home today!

    Thanks both @Diana_in_Philly and @blondie66!
I've been overweight since I was 6 years old, so I have never been near my goal weight. However, according to the body frame size tests, I'm very slender--I can wrap my fingers nearly halfway overlapping around my wrist. I work out a lot, but I'm not a big muscle builder. At my lightest adult weight (145), I was working out 7-8 hours per week, but didn't gain very much muscle. I'm fine with that, but it guided me on my goal to be in the 120s. I was still overfat even though I was doing serious weight training and HIIT. I'm many years away from menopause, so I shouldn't have issues in that department!
I totally recognize that every time losing is different and maybe when I get back to 145 this time I will be fine with my body and how I feel. If that's the case, that's fine with me, it's not really about the number for me, it's about how I think I will feel and look when I'm in that range.
Just really not pleased to have her try and keep me from believing in my goals. I am not the kind of person that just stops because it might be kind of difficult. And if there's no scientific reason why I can't reach my goal, I really want to try--even if I decide I don't want to maintain that low!
    Thanks for your thoughts again!

Mine was super simple. Brown 1lb of ground turkey. Add 1 can of diced tomatoes, 1 can undrained red Beans, and 1 packet of McCormick mild chili season. Mix all together, lower heat and simmer for 10 minutes (or longer for more flavor). That's it.

Try not to sit in soft recliners, as it will be a pain to stand up. I had mine on June 21st and I didn't sleep at all on my hospital stay night, so I am catching up on some sleep now. Congratulations!

Unfortunately it's a toss up! I had lapband 11/2009 and had it out 9/2012 due to slip and god awful heart burn and reflux issues - insurance wanted me to start ALL over again as a new patient, my Dr had to justify why I shouldn't have to start all over. Thankfully insurance company got their head outta ass and I had sleeve done 10/2012.....best thing I ever did and wish it had been option when I had band done(I'd of skipped band)!

Same here- my band was still functioning. It's just I haven't been losing weight. They wanted to make sure I complied with the follow ups with the band. I was approved the first time.
