  8. Morning! I was wondering if other people log their food and if so what do you monitor more, the calories or just focus solely on your protein intake? I am trying to stay under 600 calories but sometimes higher protein snacks or meal substitutions have a higher caloric intake. Also since I have been working out I am getting much more hungry...since I just had my surgery on 6/28/17 I still have my protein shake (which that right there is 160 calories) I was drinking an isopure clear for a snack since that was only 8 ounces and helped me reach my protein level. As of yesterday I went and bought the premier clear and that is 90 calories but 20 grams protein.... but it will also add to my water. I guess I am just testing the waters and trying to find a a happy balance. Any advice is welcome! I really want to hear from some veteran DS family! Thank you in advance!

  20. Is this business days or do you work weekends? I was trying to figure out dates for you.... I think if you get that binder and just walk a ton after surgery you should be fine! (I sit at a desk also and I think that binder would have helped me immensely)

  22. I had my surgery on June 28th was scheduled back on July 5th....but I had already told them if I did not feel well enough I would be back on the 10th. Thank goodness I did...those few more days saved me. My biggest issue was lack of sleep. I was sleeping on my back and it was not good. I finally was able to go sleep on my side by the 7th- and I used a pillow to help lift my belly. I wish I had purchased a binder prior to surgery so that may help you. Good luck!
  23. What do you use? I was just looking on Amazon and I read good reviews on Caboki?

  25. WOW....that is so amazing! I am very excited for you and happy! Keep us posted!
  26. Ya I cannot go anywhere without water! But I have always been prone to carrying water bottles.
  27. Let me clarify When I started my process with my doctor I was 390 ( I did my three months work out/and diet with my nutritionist).....so when I had my pre-op meeting (June 5th) I was 365. I started my liquid diet on June 7th....day of surgery I was 340/339. (cannot recall exactly surgery morning was a bit of blur) Now...I weighed yesterday and I have only lost 1 lbs....I fear I might be in that stall. But overall I am feeling optimistic. Keep up the great work GenJones!
  28. As first time user, do you think it is easy to put them in? I have thinning hair and I use to have super thick hair and it is upsetting. I just want my hair to look full again...
  29. Wow I am so sorry that must be so tough, this morning was the first time since surgery I felt like I could throw up. But it was totally my fault...I took my pills and then brushed my teeth. I literally looked myself in the mirror and said don't do this and stood up straight hoping gravity would help. It did, but I still feel like I have a lump in my throat. You had your surgery on June 28th as well? Lucky I don't get to eat meat until the end of this month. Hope things get better for you.
  30. Fellow DS fam..... I keep reading about sipping water. I was very much in shock when I could take a fairly average drink of water. When I had my gastric bypass and took a large "gulp" of water it was like NOPE and would come back up. With my DS I can take a normal drink of water...just wondering if I was alone in this. I saw my lil pouch whenever they did the x-ray to make sure no holes or leakage, but I have still shocked. Could it possibly be because I am still on the "liquid" diet per say? Today is the first day that I can have soft protein eggs, beans and what not....so I am just curious. I did not eat any eggs or oatmeal this morning just went with a protein shake- and I brought another for lunch. I plan on making the ricotta bake tonight for dinner. I have not yet seen the push back from my tummy saying no, you cannot take anymore but then in that same sentence I am not "eating" to get full just trying to reach my protein intake. Which honestly yesterday was the first day I got maybe 65 grams of protein....I was super stoked. I appreciate any advice, really want to hear back from fellow DS people....TIA!
