Hey don’t get discouraged!!! I felt the same way at first when my surgery mates were way ahead. I had to stop and think about. How hard was it to loose weight preop? Some of these success stories your looking at are amazing but not typical. You need to remember your BMI wasn’t as high as some others that had the surgery. Everyone progresses differently. Everyone has stalls as well while you may not be losing a number on the scale you are losing inches. Are you taking progress pictures and measurements? How are your clothes fitting? I had my DS on 12-8-17 and am down 39 lbs (the DS should have faster weight loss) I notice that the days I’m stalling are the days I didn’t get my Water or food in. Do you track your food? I use the free app called Looseit and it tells me how much protein/fat/ carbs. The more I eat I loose the day after.
I also started to watch DR V on YouTube. He is a WLS Dr out of New Mexico. He records his seminars for patients after surgery. It may help you look at life after the Sleeve differently and give you the push you need to keep going.
Here is one small clip so you can find him on YouTube.

Does anyone make green smoothies? I had the DS on 12/8/17 and want to use my Blendtec. I’m interested in any DS friendly recipes. Thanks.

fastfoodaddictnomore got a reaction from shsd87 in Omeprazole intake
I had a hernia repair at the same time as surgery. I was given omeprazole and only took it once z day. I have not had any heartburn at all. I’m also curious if this is something I need to continue taking. I thought long term it could cause issues. I’m interested in what answers you get.

Do you have a website that you can look up the results on your own. My hospital has one as well as my Dr office. I love it because I can refer back to them when needed. They are usually available before the Dr office calls me with the results.

fastfoodaddictnomore got a reaction from niceross in weight loss 4 weeks post op
I’m 4 weeks post op and down 17.7 lbs. This has been a stall week. I did the DS because I knew that I would have a hard time losing.
Girls that had the Sleeve the same time as my surgery are in the 20-30 lb loss the first month out. Goes to show the type of surgery didn’t help me lose that fast.
The advantages of losing slower is your skin has a little more time to bounce back. I’m sure I’ll still need help with extra skin after losing 100 lbs from my highest.

My paperwork said to avoid for 6 weeks. The posts I’ve read is it hits you fast and hard and leaves quickly. So maybe sip and see how you feel. -
fastfoodaddictnomore got a reaction from LaMont Hansen in Surgery pain
When does it get easier to get up out of bed or a chair? Once I’m walking around I’m better but getting out of bed or a chair is pulling so much. I’m 6 days post op from DS, gallbladder removal and hernia repair.
I’m still swollen and have that post surgery weight even though I’ve hardly been able to get more than Water down.

fastfoodaddictnomore reacted to JavaKnut in Surgery pain
I think I was able to get the bed near flat around week 3 (we have a sleep number bed that has the motorized frame for lifting feet and head - never been more glad to have it after all the years of never using that feature lol) and sleep on my side again. Be forewarned - it will never be the same on your side again - you are losing your prop to keep you tilted heheheheh. I had to get a bigger pillow to curl up with to keep from rolling onto my stomach. You are close to being pain free - end is in sight!

fastfoodaddictnomore got a reaction from Alex Brecher in Not sure what to do...family doc against bariatric surgery
My local family doctor is like that. I only take my youngest for her yearly checkups to her. My husband and I drive an hour to see ours PCP he Is totally on board with WLS even in Mexico as he knows how much it has helped patients in the long run.

fastfoodaddictnomore got a reaction from Rubyfit4life in December Sleevers??
Had mine on the 8th. Still difficult to get up out of bed sitting is ok but walking is slow. Not hungry at all and have to force broth and Water. I had the DUODENAL Switch, gallbladder removed and hernia repaired. Most of my discomfort is on my right side. I’m still happy I did the surgery and have to accept that I had more time causing me more pain.

fastfoodaddictnomore got a reaction from depressed_bandster in Mexico: Dr. Ramos Kelly Botched Surgery - LaurasVSG Tube
She had her VSG with him and did great but ended up regaining a little and went in for a second surgery. We all see good and bad surgeries happen mostly good. It’s how they were treating her after it went bad that had her so upset.
