Rowvin reacted to DCT in Looking for buddies Late March/Early April surgery
I had mine 3/10. I kept mine on the down low for the same reason.
I'm still on liquids and getting bummed out. This has been the hardest thing I've ever done.

Rowvin reacted to gryffen in April 18 Sleevers? Anyone need a buddy?
Just had my pre-op today and lost 4.4kg in two weeks - that is pretty good considering we can eat and have MR drinks.
bloods, ekg and doctor visit is all that was in mine so no idea what could be US insurance ones!
5 days of eating left!!

Rowvin got a reaction from LauriT in April 18 Sleevers? Anyone need a buddy?
I am scheduled for surgery April 18 in Mexico. VEry nervous. On day five of the PreOp diet and doing well so far. Very nervous about the surgery and life afterwards. I know it will be a positive outcome but I still have many misgivings.

Rowvin reacted to GoddessMoon in May surgery and surgeon has me second guessing the sleeve
Regardless of which you choose to go with you will still lose weight, that part is up to you. I was stuck on the gastric bypass up until 2 weeks ago when I met with my Surgeon. He said it was the best option for me and it is the more popular one he performs nowadays. I would recommend you stick to your guns on this one and possibly get another surgeon.

Rowvin reacted to Kimba Maria Wiggins in Feb 2017 sleevers - how's everyone doing post-op?
I was sleeved 2/38/17. I'm having some issue getting in enough fluids. I can get them in easily, I'm just not getting in enough. I feel good, not tired like I was the first 3 days post-op. Looking forward to the soft/mushy foods stage

1 month today & this is the first day I felt as close to normal as possible. I haven't updated my stats yet but I lost 30 lbs in one month. I'm amazed.
Height: 5'0"
Weight for WLS consultation: 216 lbs.
Surgery date: 2/13/17
Goal: -71 lbs for healthy BMI (about 145 lbs).
Current weight: 185.2
My profile picture is not me. It's my "FITspiration" body.

Rowvin reacted to ColleenErin1974 in Cramping and Spasms!
Magnesium citrate is use to empty the bowel. How it works is it pulls Water from the body into the intestines to help expell feces. This action alone will cause cramping do to dehydration. You may be drinking enough in your eyes, but the magnesium pulls away your fluids and that alone gives cramps, but your body is also stripped of certain nutrients. It can decrease your potassium and increase lactic acid production which causes the pain and cramps.
Try eating 2 bananas a day to increase potassium and help with cramps. Also, try adding pedialite a couple times a day. This will help balance your electrolytes. Just keep as hydrated as you can and try to stay away from caffeine.
I hope this helps! Good luck!

I don't have my exact date yet, but I will be April as well!
I have my endoscopy next Tuesday which I'm not looking forward to. After that, they'll give me an official April sleeve date!

Rowvin reacted to FunkyMunkyBrat in Hubby says " you aren't the one that has to be attracted to you" ..., WHAT?
Some of these men specifically were attracted to you for one of several different reasons.. Either that's just what they really are attracted to.. Or ice found lots of times it's because of their own insecurities and they don't feel like they have to worry about you cheating or worry about other guys hitting in you..

Rowvin reacted to bunnyboop in Surgery on Monday and I'm Having Problems!
My surgery is scheduled for Monday morning -- Band to Bypass. I've had explosive diarrhea on the shakes -- both the whey Protein Shakes and the vegan shakes. The only Protein powder that doesn't seem to both my digestive system is Trader Joe's Pea Protein. I ran out of the TJ Pea Protein 3-days ago and started using the vegan Protein Powder (recommended by the dietician). For 3-days now, I've been feeling really sick -- upset stomach times ten. No fever or nausea -- it's not a virus. It's that something has disagreed with me in a major way. I feel exhausted and my head feels as though it's sitting in cotton -- I feel spacey. It's from having very little in my stomach -- just some Water and a little bit of plain yogurt today. Tomorrow I start the clear liquid diet. I've spoken to the dietician 3X since this started and she's not concerned. She feels if I go back on the TJ Pea Protein, I should be fine. The physician assistant says that as long as I don't have a virus, I'm good to go.
I'm concerned. I don't have a virus -- I'm sure of that. But something is disagreeing with me big time and I'm wondering if it's all the protein? Has anyone else experienced this before? I'm hoping that things settle down when I go on the clear liquid diet tomorrow, but I would think the surgeon would want to see me and check me out given what's going on? Should I be concerned?

Rowvin reacted to EmmyJ in What is wrong with me??
Some people don't have problems getting their intake, and it sounds like you're lucky enough not to be having them. I'm sure at least some of your hunger is head hunger, craving some things you see and what not. And some of it is real hunger, and that's when you have something to eat. It's not abnormal, and you're doing the right things. Don't worry too much

Rowvin reacted to MBird in Can't keep anything down besides water!
Eat slowly and pea sized bites. Nothing spiced. Spices can upset the tummy. If this doesn't work, call your doctor immediately.
