Let's say you wake up tomorrow, and the scale says your goal weight.
What do you do? What is your plan?
I'll give you a hint. If you want to continue looking the way you do, you'll have to continue doing what you did to get there.
You keep on doing what you are doing, without end.
If your weight starts dropping lower than you want, carefully ease up on exercise and/or eat a few more calories.
    That's it!

Ok, I'm getting down to the wire for my final nutrition appt (July 31st) when I'll be weighed. This is my last requirement before my surgeon's office can send everything to insurance for approval. I still need to lose 8 lbs! Does anyone have any advice?
I've been doing well, but just in the last day if my vacation, where I have not been as diligent about diet and exercise as I'd hoped. I've put on a few pounds instead if losing the last 5 I needed to! I have until Monday to drop the weight. I'm willing to do ANYTHING at all - including not eating for the next 4 days, if that's what I need to do (although I doubt that would be the most effective method). Any advice? I'd appreciate any help! Thanks!

I'm four weeks out and I find most Beans easy to eat. Cottage cheese is easy for me also. Denser stuff has been no go for me. Avocado and hummus with soft egg works for me also.

I am 16 months post op but I can eat anything. Normally when I don't have a lot of time in the morning I eat a nature valley bar and a banana (with about 30 minutes in between) if I have time I do boiled egg with slice of toast with Peanut Butter. Of I'm being lazy I get a egg mcmuffin and eat half. Save the other half for the next day. On the weekends I make kodiac pancakes (high on protein) what I have learned about my stomach is that I can eat a full healthy meal in intervals. Remember you are eating way less regardless and will be fine. But I need your Protein and nutritions. I lost too much weight and finally am back to where I want to be. It's easy to forget that we have to eat healthy as much as possible. I love junk food and candy and I do not deprive myself from anything, however o eat so much healthier now than I ever did because if I don't my body feels weak and I look and feel sickly. Good Luck

alcn1derlnd reacted to OutsideMatchInside in Taking a Cruise after Surgery
Cruises don't interest me as a world traveler because of their track record, I would never go on one, especially not as a woman.
My opinion is based on the fact that there are always lots of cruise and food questions posted on WLS forums (just like this one). No one ever posts that they went rock climbing, swimming and had a blast or talk about their excursions (these are all some of the things that are available on cruises), not to mention the entertain shows on board.
All people do is whine about the food, and drinks and try to figure out how to drink alcohol even before they are 6 months from surgery.
You made a thread about cruises and food, but you are complaining that someone is asking questions about cruises and food? If there is more to do on a cruise than eat, why are you complaining about the food situation on the cruise? If food wasn't an issue or you had such a great time, why would the wait staff asking you a few questions be worthy of a forum post and a youtube video? You are making it seem like food is the central attraction and issue on a cruise. If everything else on the cruise made a greater impression, you wouldn't even care about the food issues.
I went on vacation this summer and food was not the highlight of my vacation or a major issue (and I had lots of delicious food at some great restaurants), I went hiking, kayaking, shopping and a lot more. Food isn't my focus, I eat to live, not live to eat.
So why all the cruise and food and alcohol posts? Why a cruise when you can just fly somewhere, and stay at a resort with activities?

I actually never found swimming hard as a large person. I grew up as a competitive swimmer. I always laugh to myself when these super fit guys would be in awe of the 280 pound woman lapping them, doing butterfly and flip turns. It was heartening to know that because of me they could see that just because someone is obese that they can also be physically fit.

How gross the drink for the upper gi X-ray the day after my surgery was. It tasted like soap. It was not the same drink I had pre-op.

One of my favorite breakfasts is white Beans with roasted diced tomatoes (both canned) with avocado and Moroccan spices. It's really easy to split into small servings from one batch. I also like adding a over easy egg on top. I just myself moved to purée myself but am really looking forward to eating this again.

Hi everyone. I've lost over 100 lbs twice in my life and at other times have gone cold turkey off coffee, sugar and all carbs except healthy ones. I always wind up gaining it back! I just can't seem to do it this time. I feel like I've gone through so much that I really appreciate now where I was when I lost that last 100 lbs and I almost think that if I could do it again, I'd be VERY very sure not to go backwards...maybe wishful thinking, idk, but what I DO know is at 56 my body just cannot carry this weight any more!!! I'm going to need A TON OF SUPPORT, and I'm hoping this is the place to come for it!! Ty everyone. Blessings to you on your journey!

My levels continued to drop after surgery as i lost more weight. I'm now taking. 88mcg 6 days a week. Actually started having heart pounding again, so going in for another test and will likely lower dosage even more. Been having my tsh checked every 6 to 8 weeks since my surgery. Good luck!

alcn1derlnd reacted to shazwott13 in Need advice on week 4 social eating situation
I am starting my week 2 post sleeve. I am a teacher and will be going back to school week 3 and then we have a 3 day teacher retreat week 4. At the retreat, everyone has community meals and its somewhat frowned upon to skip activities because the point is for us to bond like a family. I will be eating most normal foods by then, and we have a menu ahead of time so I can plan ahead and have something else on spaghetti night. However, I am really self conscious right now because I am still learning to eat. My school director and team lead both know about the surgery and I work in an amazingly supportive environment. They know that I got this surgery so that I can continue to teach (I had begun using a wheelchair at work because my weight had damaged my knees so bad)
My question is...should I let my director know I'm not okay eating with the community because its too soon, or should I try to eat with everyone else?

Well it is 100 degrees here and I am retaining Water. My urine is light in color as always.
The more weight I lost the less I urinate because my bladder has so much more room, it holds a lot more. I urinate for what seems like forever now. Also not diabetic anymore either, far fewer bathroom trips period.
