  1. LOL! I agree, buy it! You won't be sorry!
  2. Yea, I used to think the same thing, how hard could it be? But it is hard to remember sometimes! I especially have a harder time eating slow when I am pushed for time. Like breakfast in the mornings before work. I don't always get up in time to take the time to eat. And I only get a 30 minute lunch break, so sometimes it is hard not to eat fast because I am trying to rush. Not drinking with meals used to be hard, but I have gotten used to that. The hardest part about that is convincing people that I really don't want anything to drink with my food. You would think my husband would be used to that by now, but he still asks.
  3. Wow I thought I was the only one who worked with catty judgemental people until I read this post! I agree, it is a very personal decision. I am a very private person and don't like everyone knowing my business so that's why I didn't tell many people.
  4. Thanks! I can't wait to get started in school. Right now I work as a medical assistant in a doctor's office and I really like it, so I'm sure I'll love being a nurse.
  5. No, I'm not too tight, I just eat too fast at times, especially when I am really hungry and I've waited too long to eat.
  6. That's great! I slime a lot when I eat.
  7. I am losing slow too, that's another reason I haven't told anyone.
  8. I didn't tell anyone I work with because they are all very judgemental and negative. My family knows and I had told a few other people after I had surgery, but they all looked at me like I was crazy so I stopped telling anyone. When someone asks how I lost the weight, I just say I pushed back from the table.
  9. I work in a doctor's office and I am in desperate need of some XL tops. I am willing to pay shipping. Thanks!
  10. It will be ok. Just up the exercise a little and it will come off again.
  11. I went to the doctor today and he is checking my thyroid. He gave me some vitamins, Juice Plus, to try. He wants me to take them for a month and see if they help. They are capsules so I have to break them up. They are supposed to be really good.
  12. I have also been doing my measurements and I have also lost more inches than pounds. Bea1128, I start nursing school in August! I hope to be at goal or at least pretty close to it by then. I can't imagine having to wear all white at this size!
  13. They approved my surgery pretty quick, but my BMI was over 40. I think it is very hard to get them to approve it if your BMI is below that, even if you have several comorbidities. Good luck!
  14. I wouldn't reschedule. They usually only pay if you have 2 comorbidities with a low BMI.
  15. My port is right at my bra line and it hasn't caused me any problems.
  16. Well, I have gained and lost the same stupid pound for weeks now. I seem to be stuck.
  17. I didn't eat much because my band wouldn't let me. I did eat some ham, which I know is bad, and I ate a piece of chocolate pie. Other than that, I did really well. The best thing was everyone noticed my weight loss, especially an aunt I haven't seen in a very long time. So that was better to me than eating everything in sight.
  18. You have to do what is best for you and the band is not for everyone. Before I decided to get the band, I did like you. I told myself that I was going to give it one more good try and if it failed, I was getting banded. I lost about 20 pounds, but then my motivation went away and I started binging again and of course gained all the weight back plus more. But that has been the story of my life. Just because dieting and exercising without the band doesn't work for some of us, that doesn't mean that it won't work for you. Good luck!
  19. I have the same problem, no time.
  20. I agree, I get plenty of protein. My surgeon has been really surprised that I am losing hair. I am going to see my family doctor on Monday just to make sure nothing is wrong.
  21. Yea, what's that old saying? Marriage is just legal prostitution? LOL
  22. I think I will!
  23. Try not to compair yourself with others weight loss. I had surgery in May not long before you and I haven't lost fast either. There are others who had surgery the same month as me who have lost 80 pounds. I really don't see how. I try not to let it discourage me. And yes, it is true that if you have a lower BMI, it takes longer to lose.
  24. I don't ususally lose any weight the week of my period and the week after. But I lose good the other weeks.
