  1. That may be true in some parts of the country, but you couldn't tell it in the south where I live. I can't tell you how many times I have heard the n word since Obama got elected, or how many racist jokes I've heard since he took office.
  2. I was afraid to ask!! LOL!!
  3. Yea, me too! My vagina has no part of my band!!!
  4. I think anyone at any age can be successful with the band, but I am glad I didn't get it when I was in my 20's. I just don't think I would have had the mind set and the discipline that it take to succeed with the band like I do now. I was too worried about where the next party was going to be! I wasn't really as concerned about my weight then.
  5. My mom and sister thought that the doctor would have to go through the vagina to do a fill!!
  6. Has anyone saw the commercial with the 'bariatric surgeon' talking about that stupid bar that's supposed to keep you full like you've had WLS? SO stupid!
  7. Yes, my parents were very brave to adopt a mixed child. He was also born addicted to crack cocaine. My Mom and stepdad always wanted a child of their own, but were unable to have one. So when they found out he was available for adoption, they jumped at the chance. I don't think they would have cared if he was green!
  8. I don't know how anyone can take tylenol PM or Benadryl and be able to function the next day.
  9. That commercial for the Realize band is the worst! It is so cheesy!
  10. I'm very sorry that you have to experience that. My 13 year old brother is mixed. My mother and step father adopted him when he was 2 months old. You can imagine the stares we all get when we all go somewhere together. He lives in a 100% white neighborhood with my parents, and recently some mean boys that ride his school bus were caught spray painting racist comments and symbols on the driveway. I cried when I found out about it. It makes me very sad and angry that people are still so ignorant. It makes me even madder that parents still teach their children such hate.
  11. Yea, I was about to ask the same question.
  12. Yea, I know what you mean. It took me a while to buy some smaller clothes. I have been selling the ones that don't fit on ebay. They are selling really well.
  13. That's great! I haven't been in onederland in about 9 years! I can actually wear some clothes that aren't plus size! We have a Fashion Bug here that only sells plus sizes. I used to shop there all the time, but I am happy to report that I can no longer wear their smallest size!
  14. Yea, me too! I'd look anorexic!
  15. Well, I have my height set at 5'6, but I'm actually somewhere between 5'6 and 5'7.
  16. Hey, I just noticed that we started out at about the same weight! How cool is that! Your goal is 10 pounds lighter than mine, but you are probably shorter than me.
  17. I can't wait to run into my exboyfriend. He used to call me fat all the time and even broke up with me in a letter telling me I was fat! Just wait!
  18. Well, I found a really cute skirtini and tankini. I'm not ready for a bikini, but I'll take what I can get for right now!
  19. What a great article! Thanks for sharing! I understand totally how you feel. My mother used to always be in my business and treat me so terrible. She used to always want to know what I was doing and with who. She would even call my neighbors and ask them if I was home or if I had anyone over! She also talked so terrible to me, especially when I was at my heaviest. I don't even like to think about the things she used to say to me. I kept telling myself the same thing, that she was my mother, I had to deal with her. But finally a few years ago, I had enough. We got into an argument at her house one day and I just simply walked out and left. I didn't talk to her for months. I didn't call her, I didn't answer her calls. I wrote her a very long letter telling her how she made me feel and that I wasn't going to put up with it anymore. A few days after she received the letter, she came to my house. We had a very long talk. We managed to work things out, and we still talk, but we will never be super close. I hate that, but I have learned to live with it. I would suggest maybe writing your mother a letter, and telling her you won't put up with it any longer, and if she wants to be in your life, then she has to change.
  20. Thanks! I am very excited! I actually tried on some cute swimsuits today that didn't look bad!
  21. Wonder how long it will take her to come back? LOL!
  22. I used to have diarrhea all the time before being banded, but now it seems I have constipation. It goes back and forth now. I'm sure it has a lot to do with diet changes.
  23. I believe one of the 10 commandments is "Thou shall not KILL"......
