Thanks!!! Will have to pick up some crystal light! I used to love the premier drinks pre surgery, but post op the lactose hurts my tummy. For my coffee fix I've been having an Iconic Protein Shake in the cafe flavor or make a protein shake with Chike protein powered mixed with soy or almond milk. Both are easy to order from Amazon.

What are you drinking for your fluids? I struggle with water and am sick of Vitamin water zero [emoji20] shakes and soy milk are really the only liquids that I can get down fairly comfortably.

It happens. Have you measured yourself recently? Sometimes it comes off in inches and not pounds. Work the plan and the plan will work for you. You have this!

    Hi Splat,
No worries. I totally get it. I was just there last week (three week stall). I saw my surgeon yesterday for my one month postop and to advance to soft foods and finally saw the scale moving again. I was starting to freak out that I hadn't lost anything in two weeks. Saw my specialist doctor for the bariatrics and nutrition info today and learned that since my Water intake was still below 60 oz, my body was holding onto water to preserve it. Another interesting thing I learned was that even though I was getting in all my Protein usually through shakes and a bit of my pureed stage at the time, it did not amount to enough calories. With two 30 grams of protein each in the premier shakes I was using, calorie count was only at 160 calories each! She told me I actually at three weeks to one month post op need to be around 800-1000 calories and protein should be increased from 60 g to 80 g or more. I am now diligently watching my meal preps and making sure I eat even when I am not "hungry". She told me it is not about tastes or when I want to, it's about supplementing my body so it can function. I left with the promise of trying harder on both water and protein intake. Suffice it to say I stepped on scale today as I had stopped 3 days ago from discouragement and was pleasantly surprised stall had broken and I am down 3 lbs in 3 days! Hang in there and I hope this helps you. Aloha

I am so happy I found your post. We all try to find out future self on these forums just so we know there is hope and we can anticipate real change. Our weights for high and surgery are almost exact (even though I still have a week and a half before I actually can say that lol) so I can only hope that my cw at 100 days out is similar.
I am having surgery on May 26th. My HW was 328 and my current presurgery weight is 280. In praying to get down another few pounds before surgery next Friday.
    Thanks for posting !!!

I was sleeved on 4/24 I lost 17lbs, everything thankfully went smoothly for me. I lost 14 the first week and 3 at the beginning of week 2 But since then I have been on the famous stall. I thought I was doing something wrong but now I see I'm not the only one. I think I might just put my scale away because it's stressing me out

I brought my own robe, a pillow, hairbrush and some mascara. Oh, and my phone charger. It was nice to have the mascara as a little pick me up on Day 2 when i was feeling tired and sore.

I don't know if this is necessarily the place to post this, but I just got married!!!! This woman has been by my side through the last 2 and a half years in this journey. She met me when I weighed over 600 pounds. I am now back down to my playing weight for football in college, but I am much healthier and and in better shape than I was then. I still have a lot of work to get under 3 bills, but I am extremely happy to head down this new path in life.

Oh that's good. Hey, I'm hoping I will be a slow loser, that way there's less chance of baggy skin. I've been fat for 10 yrs, I don't mind taking a leisurely stroll towards Thin Ha Ha .

Today I Celebrate my 1 year anniversary of my sleeve surgery!
It's amazing how much has changed in a year! I've lost 118lbs. I've gone from a tight size 28 jean to a loose 18, and a 4X shirt to an XL. I recently fit in an airplane seat comfortably and didn't need a seat belt extender. I love clothes shopping now, can pound out an hour on the elliptical with ease, and can paint my own toenails AND breathe at the same time! =)
I still have about 60 lbs to go, but I have no doubts that I will get there. I feel amazing already, and it's only going to keep getting better from here.

Haven't had a problem keeping my carbs down bc I feel like I'm hardly eating/ have zero appetite. Today I had 1 1/4 Protein Shakes, a Vitamin Water zero, popsicle, and 1/4 cup of Soup. Trying to up my protein consumption but the struggle is real.

I found out I had Barrett's during all the preop testing. Facing this diagnosis, I switched from wanting a sleeve to getting RnY. Had surgery on 4/24.

Exactly a year ago I had the sleeve done, and today marks my 45 kg total loss.
I never thought i would ever come close to the number i now see when i stand on the scale "59 kg" last time i was that weight i was in elementary school!
The surgery was the best decision i have made in my life, people always told me weight doesnt matter thin or fat big or small it wont change who you are. Well it did, first with my confidence. I learned to embrace how i look now, i became more comfortable in my skin which is something i failed to do in past years.
I don't try as hard as i used to to fit in, i don't seek peoples acceptance of me. And on a physical health level, i don't take half of the medicine i used to take when i was obese, i can be more active i have so much energy to anything i put my mind to.
Even if i don't look the way i imagined myself to. I still love where i am and how far i came.
My stomach doesn't look perfect, but im so grateful for it.

My arms flap, but its only a small price to pay for your mental and physical health.
If you're struggling in anyway or if you're second thinking the surgery, just know that you're the one that can make it work. Set your eyes on the end goal and you will defiantly get there.
Its not easy, at all! It takes commitment and patience.
The road can be long and hard, but in the end it will all be worth it all!
This is how I am feeling after losing 100+ lbs and i hope you all have a successful weight loss journey!

Seattle WLS Newbie reacted to teacupnosaucer in Importance of a personal advocate after surgery
I had a night nurse on my first night post-op who refused to give me pain meds all night because my pain "wasn't that bad" and that I "can't expect to be pain free after having THAT surgery". Unluckily for her, even though that night I was too in pain and tired to do anything about her, the next day my RN mom was there and knew exactly how and to whom to raise hell.
She was scheduled to work the next night but someone else was there in her place (I heard the nurses talking about it at the desk). I'm of the opinion that medical staff need to be treated with the utmost respect and patience because they have hard jobs... but that doesn't mean you should let them treat you however they like. you have rights as a patient. and having someone there to advocate for you when you're in a compromising position can really help you get what you need.
