    1500! Calorie diet

1,500 might be too many calories. I was on 1,200 calories and that seemed to work better for me. Also how you are using those calories matter. In order to shrink your liver you need proteins and veggies. Fruits have slot of sugar and stay away from carbs as much as possible.

    Get nicotine out of system?

I just drank a lot of water to flush my system out but the day of be careful not to drink too much so your urine is diluted. You should be fine with 8 days clean already.

    Vaping??

I hadn't smoked a cigarette in 2 years so it only took a week for the nicotine to get out of my system for the nicotine test. Sent from my Z956 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Vaping??

Sorry to tell you but it is a deal breaker. You have to have 0 nicotine in your system. I failed my test and the stopped everything. Finally when I was ready to quit they proceeded but we're extra strict with me and tested me right before I was headed into the operating room again.

    Vaping??

It should be back by now. Depends on how long the lab takes. Nicotine from cigarettes takes longer to get out of your system hope 2 weeks was long enough. I know with just 3mg of nicotine from my e-cig it took a week to get out of my system. Good luck on your surgery.

    Vaping??

I Vaped 0mg in order to pass my nicotine screen and then stayed at 0mg for 6 weeks after surgery then went back up to my original 3mg. I had been vaping for years before surgery though. Sent from my Z956 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Possible Ulcer

I was sleeved on February 27th and am a little over 50 pounds down. Last 3 days I have felt miserable and upon doing some research I am fairly certain I might have an ulcer. Has anyone else had an ulcer on a sleeved tummy? How do I know for sure? Sent from my Z956 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Please help! I'm nervous....

Your welcome. We are here to help. If you think of anymore questions please ask. It is a scary thing to go through but in the long run it is worth it but I am not going to lie the first month you will wonder why and the hell you did it but it gets so much better just don't give up and stay strong.

    Please help! I'm nervous....

I use the premier protein shakes but the only flavor I can tolerate is the vanilla and chocolate I absolutely can't do the powders but that is me. I agree you have to figure out what works for you. Remember that after surgery your taste buds change. Everything is so much sweeter. I honestly love the Isopure water but can't afford them they are crazy expensive. Yeah driving home isn't a good idea at all and the hospital won't discharge you without driver there for you. You will be so weak you won't want to drive. All I did for the first few weeks after surgery was sleep because you don't get the calories your body really needs to have energy. I have a 2 year old daughter and she was so amazing and cuddly with mommy. She laid in bed and watched movies with me and got me water and just kept asking if I was ok. The only thing that I really ate was sugar free Popsicles, broth and sugar free jello along with the shakes. I never had to do a liquid diet before surgery because I was doing a lower carb to prove I could lose weight for my surgeon and lost 8 pounds in 2 months and he had me in surgery.
  10. I had surgery February 27th and don't get me wrong the first month I wondered what the hell I did! I regretted the surgery but now I am able to eat yes only a few bites and yes I get heartburn but I always have antacids with me. We have to take calcium anyways and the antacids have calcium so I am killing 2 birds with one stone. I can drink water normally and I am not even 2 months out yet. People are going to have more pain from gas etc. If they don't follow doctors orders and get up and get moving. It really does help. I was off all pain meds except one at night after a week and off everything after 2 weeks. Also in 7 weeks I have lost 42 pounds I would say that is worth it. I no longer have high cholesterol or high blood pressure.

    Pre surgery diet.

Just look at food is for fuel now not for comfort. Not sure what you have for to eat but it is only temporary and the pay off will be worth it.
  12. I had my sleeve done at Methodist in Omaha in February. Good luck wish I could answer your question. There is an Omaha Bariatric page on Facebook that might be able to help. Sent from my Z956 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Fibromyalgia and Sleeve

I have fibro and was sleeved on Feb 27th and so far am about 40 pounds down and have not noticed much of a difference with the pain. The fatigue is much worse now too. Fatigue from hardly eating and then the fatigue from fibro if I could sleep all day I would. Medication wise I am not sure what you take for fibro so not sure what to tell you. I am only on Cymbalta and a pain medicine along with a muscle relaxer because Gabapentin and Lyrica do nothing for me but make me feel foggy. Your surgeon will tell you what you can and can't take after surgery. Pain for me after surgery was nothing because I am used to being in pain it is the fatigue that is the worst part and seems to be neverending. Hope this helps. Any other questions feel free to ask.

How many weeks to request off

Really just depends on how well you are doing after surgery. I am a month post op and am still so tired and get nauseous and dizzy. Luckily I am a stay at home mom but it is hard to keep up with my 2 year old when I have no energy.

    Stop smoking before WLS

I would ask your surgeon. Mine required zero nicotine in the system because nicotine of any kind slows down the healing process so this would include any aids to stop smoking.
