  9. I am a week post-op and after a rough three days of nausea and vomiting, I'm finally able to keep food down. However, I'm having major problems with getting in my daily alottment of protein. After a few sips of anything, I am full. There just doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day to get it all in. Could some of you share what you eat during a typical day, and any helpful tips on how I can get more protein? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated! 11. This is great! Thanks for sharing this information. Did you request samples of particular vitamins or did they just send you a sampling of some of their products?

  24. During my six months of diet visits, I was told not to worry too much about losing weight but to focus on educating myself on the right foods to eat and how my diet would significantly change after the surgery. That being said, I ended up gaining 8 pounds and lost only 4 of them at my last weigh-in. I was pretty stressed and worried that my insurance would deny me but, thankfully, my surgery has been approved!! So if you have only maintained your weight, I'm sure you'll be in good shape! I'm meeting with the surgeon on April 4 to find out my surgery date and am so excited! Wishing you well on your journey! 2017 is gonna be our year!!
  25. That's great that you won't have to schedule two more appointments before your paperwork is submitted. I have BCBS, too, but had six months' worth of diet visits before everything was submitted. Don't worry about gaining a few pounds. I did, too. Actually, I didn't lose any weight during the six months. I gained about eight pounds during this period and ended up losing four at the end, but my ending weight was still higher than my beginning weight. So when my paperwork was finally submitted on Friday, March 3, I was excited but also really worried about being denied. I was told it could take a few days or as long as a month to hear back from the insurance company, but I literally called BCBS every day to check the status of my paperwork. I finally received approval on Tuesday, March 14, so it only took about 1 1/2 weeks. I'll be meeting the surgeon in the next week or so to schedule a surgery date!
  26. Yes, I literally called the insurance company every day to check my status! I was always nervous when I called but the anxiety of not knowing was so much worse.
  27. After reading so many posts about people getting approved for surgery, and hoping and praying my time would come, I can finally utter these words: I'VE BEEN APPROVED FOR SURGERY! My paperwork was submitted to my insurance company 1 1/2 weeks ago and I've been stalkin' them every day with phone calls. LOL! This afternoon I called again and was told I was approved. Now I just have to wait for them to submit it in writing to the surgeon's office. I'm hoping my surgery can be scheduled for April or May. I swear, I'm so excited and relieved, I can't contain myself! I feel so extremely blessed to be one step closer to my surgery date. Good luck to everyone on your journey!
  28. Yay! I just called my insurance company, and they said I've been APPROVED!!!!!!!
  29. That's WONDERFUL! Congrats, and all the best to you!!
  30. LOL! I know! My paperwork was submitted last Friday and I've called Monday and Wednesday. It has taken everything within me NOT to call today! Ha! Congrats to you, ThickGirl5683! Your surgery date will be here before you know it!
